1. Idolizing Rabin the infamous
Yoni ,   Tel aviv   (11.20.11)
Clearly the fact that he led the altelina attack should have put him behind bars and out of the IDF and surely any leadership position. Of course the issue is not just him it is the entire corrupt political system full of greed and power. Rabin was a coward who was responsible for the deaths of thousands of fellow Jews. The left does not agree with any of his political views but rather uses his assassination to pretend he symbolizes what they believe in just to further themselves and the divide they wish for among us.
2.  Altalena is his legacy
arie   (11.20.11)
Well said but he left out the killing of jews who Jumped off the burning ship to save there lives.
3. Well no and yes. Lots of tears& suffering for the Jews, yes.

4. Notice how freedom of speech never extends to Rabin critics?
dougherty ,   UK   (11.20.11)
Notice how freedom of speech in Israel never extends to Rabin critics? The real test of democracy in Israel is the ability to criticize Saint Yitz without the leftist thought police persecuting you for "incitement"!
5. The Left distorts Rabin's legacy into anarchy & appeasement
(11.20.11)
The Left is leaderless and clueless. They desperately need a symbol, and as a result, they "adopted" Rabin by taking only the convenient parts of his legacy, hiding his less "colorful", more military and patriotic political past. They raped Rabin's legacy and turned the successful and courageous Rabin into a wimpy, appeasing and spineless image of himself. Rabin dies have a legacy allright, but not the one painted by the suicidal and treacherous Left! I wonder how his family can live with this masquerade.
6. Rabin evalution and honest
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (11.20.11)
With out getting involved in the murder of Rabin which is plain murder, Rabin really did make bad decisions for our country. We need to be honest about him even if he was gunned down in cold blood. His tragic assassination should not blur our assessment of his accomplishments or failures.
7. I cant understand why the left continue to idolize Rabin
zionist forever   (11.20.11)
What did he actually ever really do for them. Those idiots seem to think if Rabin had lived then Palestinians and Israel's would be best buddies and we would be having group hugs. They just can't accept the idea Rabin would have failed anyway and he wasn't even responsible for the peace process. The basic peace process began when Yitzhak Shamir signed the Declaration of Principles at the Madrid Confrence, Oslo was just the next step. In life he didn't do much more that hand over Gaza and Jericho to Arafat and the majority of the public were either skeptical or outright against Oslo. Rabin's death is what rallied people around the peace process as an act of solidarity over Rabon's death. Rabin should be admired for his days as a soldier but as a politician ha failed miserably and if he had lived he would have probably been kicked out of office at the next election by the skepticism to oslo.
8. Rabbi is insecure!
(11.20.11)
Because if what he is saying were so true well then he wouldn't need to say it!
9. The delusional left still make their pilgramage to the
Al   (11.20.11)
Alter of St Rabin. These useless idiots would still be whoreshipping this failed PM even while they would be being bombed by their piss partners. They are indeed suffering from a mental disease.
10. Heroism
zichron   (11.20.11)
Rabin was involved in the atlena incident and was wrong but this was after Dar Yassin. He directed the victories of the six day war which the religious zionists are benefitting and was for the land swap that would have allowed the jews to keep the settlement blocks .Rabin was a brilliant general and these rabbis on the hill miscontrue his great contributions .

" I cant understand why the left continue to idolize Rabin " . Lack of understanding invariably stems from lack of intelligence

You forget that by the time Rabin died he had already failed miserably. While Rabin was still in power, Arafat declared he would violate the Oslo accords and started the First Oslo War, sending his troops to attack civilian buses. Rabin's promises that all agreements were reversible proved false as the IDF was helpless to protect the civilians.
13. #11 almost half clever
Sam   (11.20.11)
A silly comment is an easy way for a lazy person with no supporting argument to chime in. Hint we are your parents and we won't give you attention for making a rant.
14. Shimon Peres.....
Shalom ,   U.SA.   (11.20.11)
When remembering Rabin we should remember Peres' role in Rabin's peace initiative and remember that Rabin called him a snake.
15. Failure
michael Pielet ,   israel   (11.20.11)
It is common knowledge that Oslo was an egregious failure. Rabin as Prime Minister was a total failure.
16. Rabin-Oslo
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (11.20.11)
is the best thing that happened to Israel, the murder of Rabin is the best thing that happened to Arafat- Hamas, the majority of victims of the palestinians were killed by bombs and not by the rifels, provided by Israel,(which 99 % were confiscated by Israel) the irony is that Hamas, that comitted all the bombings in Israel,is the soul mate of this rabbi sadan, both are against Oslo, before oslo, unemployment was 9 % investments $ 60-70 Million , with oslo,China,Russia,India and some Arab states established diplomatic relations with Israel, investments in the billions of dollars came in,nations were waiting in line for a visit by Rabin, the only people that didn't like the Oslo talks were the west bankers and Hamas, who did everything they could to derail the talks,Hamas by bombings, and the west bankers by incitement against Rabin,(Rodef Nirdaf) Hamas and the west bankers succeeded,Rabin is dead and Oslo derailed,to blame Rabin for the bombings is insane,Rabin had the respect of the world and he would have crashed Arafat-Hamas with the consent of the international community, because he was a trail blazer and widely respected even by the Arabs, does this rabbi believe that the world will allow Israel to annex the west bank ?.and 2 qustions to this rabbi,by the end of the day, will the settlers get more land or less land than had Rabin been alive and oslo continued ?.and is Israel's position today better or vorse than under Rabin ?.

The state of Israel had every right to demand that the ilegally brought in ship hand over the arms to the government of the new state, but EZEL refused,in kfar witkin where the EZEL unloaded some of the arms, when odered by the I.D.F. to surrender,EZEL opened fire killing 2 soldiers of the I.D.F.and than sailed to Tel Aviv, when members of EZEL in the I.D.F.heard of the ship with the arms, they started to desert on mass, wishing to form a private army, probably the killing of the 2 I.D.F.soldiers at Kfar Witkin sealed the fate of the ship,if it's true that people were killed while jumping from the ship, that was a crime, the Altalena was one more debacle in Begin's march of folly.
18. # 7 I cant understand
J.K. ,   brooklyn USA   (11.21.11)
Yes it's true,Yitzhak Shamir is the man who started the talks with Arafat,so the question is, why didn't the west banker erev ravanim issue a Rodef Nirdaf against Shamir ?.like they did against Rabin, the reason, shamir told the west bankers, don't worry i am going to fool the palestinians and the Americans,i'll talk and talk and give nothing,Rabin realized this is a stupid game, that Israel can't play forever,in Israel at that time there were 3 camps the west bankers and their friends in the right, said we will give the palestinian nothing ,not even a grain of sand, the left said,we will give them everything except the western wall and some border adjustments, the Rabin camp said, let's seat down and negotiate, and salvage as much as we can,the west bankers screamed, high treason,by refusing to embrace Rabin the west bankers shut themselves in the foot, today the sympathy of the world is on the palestinian side,Israel is maligned by many countries,Jews are being attacked in the streets of Europe and in the colleges,so,the palestinians have set their eyes much higher,on Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan,things are changing rapidly in the world Jews are assimilating, muslims grow stronger and stronger, given the composition of the Israeli population,a rightist government will be in power for a very long time, the west bankers will win, but Israel will lose.

Your posts 16 and 17 are filled with falsehoods, but you ask what the difference was between Shamir and Rabin. Shamir was aiming at true peace: Arab autonomy under local leadership that would eventually lead to a peaceful binational democratic state. He was proven right: in a short time the first Intifada was ended, the PLO was an insignificant force, and the Arab nations had started a process of normalization with Israel. Rabin drank the PLO koolaid, and brought in archterrorist Arafat with weapons. The first thing Arafat did is murder every peace loving Arab in Judea, Samaria and Gaza. He then started a system of indoctrination to Jew-hatred. Rabin guaranteed that there will be a war of attrition that Israel cannot win.
20. Rabin
michaelpielet ,   Israel   (03.02.12)
Rabin as P.M. was a failure. Rabin use subtrafuge and bribes to pass Oslo. The fact that he was assassinated changes none of the above.
