1. Turkey's P.M. Tayyip Erdogan/ Syrian Assad
Simcha ,   So.Cal.USA   (11.20.11)
Turkey will only intervene with U.N. security backing if the wholesale slaughter reaches a large city such as Aleppo or Damascus.Do only the people in large cities matter? What about the thousands that have already been tortured and killed? The violence is not abating only growing.Assistance is needed now, to keep it from reaching further into the country.
2. ottoman empire dreams
jacob ,   Encino, CA   (11.20.11)
They miss the days of being the powerful nation that ruled around them. Now they have buddies in Syria and Egypt (muslim brotherhood) to start threir dream again.
3. Too Bad There Was Nobody To Protect The Armenians...
Seth ,   Washington, DC   (11.20.11)
...when the Turks staged the first modern genocide by slaughtering 1 million Armenian civilians, a fact that they still deny. Hitler was inspired by the sheer evil of the Turks and by the lack of international condemnation of the atrocity.
4. erdogan wont go through with a no fly zone
zionist forever   (11.20.11)
Erdogan can set up a buffer zone to try and stop this spilling over into Turkey but the idea of Turkey enforcing a no fly zone, the man hasn't got the guts. He needs UN authorization for a no fly zone which he won't get out of fear by NATO they will be forced to get involved if there is a no fly zone in place. Turkey won't go this alone Erdogan wants to join a NATO operation rather than unilaterally get into a conflict with Syria. He would at the very least want to be part of a coalition with the arab military forces which once again he won't get because the arabs will never authorize a military strike on one of their own unless he is threatening other arab states. Assad has Scud missiles and chemical weapons which can reach Turkey and who knows what a man desperate to stay in power is capable of. Last but not least there are now Russian warships off the Syrian coast to make sure there are no military operations and even Erdogan is not so stupid he will mess with the Russians. Assad is safe from Turkey and everybody else for now.
5. Ankara and their opinion
Iranian Jew ,   LA   (11.20.11)
Ankara can't even fix their earthquake problems let alone performing a military intervention. Every emerging country wants to act like USA, now that the big police is in trouble. ... Pathatic!
