1. Why unilaterally? An upgrade should be mutual...
Charles ,   Paris, FRANCE   (11.21.11)
...this appears to be grovelling.
2. Funny how the Turks play the "touchy-feely", hurting-lover
tom ,   tel aviv   (11.21.11)
role in international diplomacy/politics. Who'll buy this?!There's no "Friendships" between nations (at least not their governments). It's either money or sex (as everything else in Life). So please cut the BS Erdie!
3. Why the begging?
Rachel ,   US   (11.21.11)
This is a humiliation.
4. Why are we kowtowing to the supports of terror - Turkey?
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (11.21.11)
Turkey AND its people by their open support of the Erdogan Government have expressed hatred against Israel and Jews so why are we still importing goods from Turkey? Turkey is obviously determined to humiliate Israel and has allied itself with Iran. If NATO is still blind to this fact Israel doesn't have to follow suit. STOP TURKISH IMPORTS AND FLIGHTS TO AND FROM TURKEY until Edogan apologizes for sending IHH terrorists to harm our soldiers! Turkey still denies the Armenian Genocide and the atrocities committed against Greek Cypriots and still occupies part of Cyprus!
5. You must like getting kicked in the face

in both instances sometimes even the correct party must bow down to maintain a relationship, if it deems that relationship worthy of eating a little crow....

Li ,   USA   (11.21.11)
Israel is projecting an image of a country that gets by on bluff and bluster rather than competence.
9. Turks created this pretext to start a new..
Nora Tel Aviv   (11.21.11)
...strategy. Namely to join the Iran-Syria-Hizballah-Gaza axis. Israel has nothing left to do than help this axis fail.

I'm not too sure about that. I'm rather more sure that Turkey is looking for a way to gracefully exit the mess in which it has found itself, and has tabbed the only dependable and stable country in the region for help (Iran is now acting against Turkey's goals by actively aiding and abetting BOTH sides of the conflict in Syria -- nothing like hedging one's bets), and just might be seeking to foment a little destabilization in Turkey (don't forget that destabilizing Turkey puts NATO in a little bit of a bind, at least until NATO grows a spine and boots Turkey out -- something it should have done months ago). Then there are those pesky Kurds -- in Turkey, in Syria, in Iraq and in Iran. Nothing to stop Israel from helping them, now is there? Me, personally? I think Israel should tell the Turks to go hang, at least until they apologize publicly for causing Israel to go to the expense and trouble of stopping the Turkish inspired illegal blockade-running attempt of the MAVI MARMARA, and compensates Israel for that expense.
