Iran signed the NPT which strictly forbids them from having nuclear weapons, Israel did not sign. Also can you imagine nuclear weapons in the hands of the ayatollahs? The Grand Aytollah wakes up one morning having just received a vision from Allah telling him to nuke somebody but not to worry about retaliation because all good Muslims will go to paradise. Israel on the other hand has had nukes for going on 50 years and its never been seen as a threat and its never threatened to nuke anybody. Nuclear weapons are not toys so do you really think we should let Iran get the things to be fair because Israel has them?
6. No mention of other WMD's
John ,   Alaska   (11.23.11)
Because this conference was focused on the nuclear question only. However, if other WMD's were the issue, Israel's enemies would still get a free pass; the UN is not Israel's friend now and won't be again. This is fine, though. Ha'Shem is Israel's friend; she needs no other.
7. S Bernassi There is an Islamic bomb already in Pakistan
PETER SM ,   AUSTRALIA   (11.23.11)
They have attacked Israel in the past going to fight for their Arab brothers . So you just dont want the Jews to have a bomb or do you like to double dip?
8. Meanless issue
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (11.23.11)
We like other non-members of the NPT are not subject to review - inspection or any other demand. This is an issue for member states like IRAN that is violating international law. Syria and Iraq have also both violated the same international treaty. The only double standard is by a bunch of stupid racists.
9. Dear Mr. Ben ASS i
Steven Gilbert ,   Teaneck   (11.23.11)
Double standard, huh? No qualitative different between a country that threatens another with extinction and one that does not? Pretty dim on your part. No?

Bobby ,   Western Galilee   (11.23.11)
Hey, when was the last time you heard of a Jewish suicide bomber?
11. #4: Your bigoted blindness does NOT prove "double standard"
Susan ,   DC, USA   (11.23.11)
"Jewish" nukes (& thanks for admitting that all anti-Israeli prejudice really is just "good old fashioned" Jew-hatred) are "good" because, as the world has seen, Israel does not want to use them. Even the dumbest/most dishonest bigot could never say with a straight face that any Arab nation would *hesitate* to use them.
12. To 4 S.Benassi
JOhn Phee ,   Sydney AUSTRALIA   (11.23.11)
Steve, first Iranians are not Arabs & they would consider it an insult to be called so. THe US & Russia both tried to prevent Israael in '67 from producing a Nuclear Weapon. Russia was going to bomb Dimona, the US was using other means. Bith stopped when the realised it was too late. Israel has not treatened to use these weapons, nor have they threated to exterminate anyone. Israel has a 45 year history of not using these weapons even when threatened with extemination. Recall '73. They also have not threatened any country & its people with extermination. The same cannot be said of the Arabs & Iran. Also sorry to say but Israel is permitted nuc's since they never sighned the NPT. So while Israel has them & hasn't used them do you think the Arabs & Iran wouldn't have used them by now. Also Israel is not threatening the US or EU, Iran is. No there is no double standard.
