This is not unlike when the US caught Russian spies two years ago, or when the US caught Pollard. These agents are not CIA officers, but nationals of Lebanon or Iran that the US recruited, just like the USSR recruited Aldrich Ames and Israel recruited Pollard.
The US negotiated with the Russians and they got back their people from us. Will the US negotiate with Iran? Time will tell.
I doubt that Israel's Pollard strategy will work for the US with the Iranians.
