1. Ministry of Tourism creates "Gospel Trail"
SellingRsouls4Gold ,   Jerusalem Israel   (12.01.11)
Lets be honerst all here including many relgious have sold their soul for gold the Ministry of Tourism has just named part of the Israel Trail the "Gospel Trail" a huge Chrisitan shopping center now being built on the shores of ancient Magdal the City of David now sells Evangelical Christian jewelry. Very sad state of affairs There is no such thing as a Chrisitian organization here without a missionary agenda of some kind .There are however millions of ordinary Christians who do support us unconditionally & without an agenda.
2. Oxymoron.
Gabe ,   Canada   (12.01.11)
Christianity's reason d'etre is to convert others to their beliefs. Zionist can be any person of any origin who is supporting the Jewish Homeland with words and deeds. Christian Zionist is an oxymoron.
3. not for conversion
pm ,   india   (12.01.11)
it is sad to learn that based on century old conception a portion of israelis looking at evangelical christians with suspicion.it is true that the major christian sect of west persecuted the jews but they not spared the christian protestants too.pls understand the theological differences exist amongst the various denominations and pls don't generalise christians out of misconception.
4. amen! and out to all goyim!
(12.01.11)
5. #1 selling
solomon ,   bklyn   (12.01.11)
Many of the millions of ordinary Christians who do support Israel unconditionally & without an agenda want a way to express that support. They belong to the very organizations that you are castigating. We should not answer unconditional support with hate.
6. Christians Out!
Nili   (12.01.11)
Their goal is to convert...and they will do whatever it takes. Wait until your son refuses Bar Mitzvah, because he has "become a believer", or when he marries and your grandchildren are not Jewish. These people are the enemy within~their money and smiles will wipe us out as a people. Shame on us for turning a blind eye and allowing it to happen.
7. Titbaishu lachem
Josy ,   NYC, USA   (12.01.11)
These people are using our beautiful religion as a reason to act in a very ugly way. It is bad for Israel, it is bad for Jews everywhere, and it is bad for the souls of the people who behave this way. The last thing anyone needs is yet another holy war.
8. religious christians
Chana ,   Jerusalem   (12.01.11)
there are people belonging to the christian faith but without being religious, but religious christians are, without exceptions, eagerly waiting for the day when the Jews "will see the light"-there is no such thing as a religious christian who do not think that every non-christian need to be "saved"
9. shocked at these racists views
Jerry Diamond ,   Toronto   (12.01.11)
What in the hell is the matter with you people! If people want to come to live in the country and obey the laws of the land and pay taxes what is wrong with that. You people are racists. There are Jews living all over the world in Christian countries would it be right to say throw the jews out because they are jewish. You same people would be crying antisemitism. Well this is anti Christian and being a jew myself I abhor it !!!!
10. Peripheral to the discussion but important:
John ,   Alaska   (12.01.11)
The rabbi says: "They view the State of Israel as the miracle of realization of the prophets' vision… " Multiple prophets, one vision. This is very powerful.
11. Residents are Wrong
Joe Sombrero ,   USA   (12.01.11)
We need all the friends we can get now unless they are actively proselytizing they should be welcomed. The people who are against this help are idiots.
12. Har Brach
jackie behar ,   Har Bracha   (12.01.11)
It is really sad that people are so closed minded and let their fears get the better of them without really looking into all the issues. These Christians are unbelievably good people, they work like dogs and break their backs and smile and sing all the way because they are just so happy to be here, they have a simple honest love for the jewish people and they have proved their friendship for years. Why can't we just get that fact straight and move on. I personally really respect their strenght of caracter against all the back stabbing and they could leave and hate us for being outright mean, but they don't because they feel that helping the Jewish nation is the right thing to do...so where is our higher moral standard in this picture?
13. To #1 and a preemptive apology
John ,   Alaska   (12.01.11)
Obviously, this is a subject close to my heart. I will keep my responses to a minimum to compensate. But please accept my apologies if you see a lot of responses by me. :) #1 I am saddened by the commercialization of your home. The Promised Land is not a tourist attraction and should not be treated as such by us visitors nor by well-meaning people in your government. I am a member of Christians United For Israel, a group that is very serious both in supporting you and especially in Jews remaining Jews. I am very sad that Christians in times past and even today have hurt and murdered Jews in the name of Christianity. There is nothing I can do that make that not have happened, and for that I am also sorry. We will never try to hurt you, and we will never try to rob you of your Jewish faith. That also does not change the past. I do hope and pray that it can change the present and the future.
14. To # 9 - Jerry Diamond
Abu Yussef al Yahudi ,   Bue-Aires_Argentina   (12.01.11)
As a Zionist Jew living in the Galuth, I agree strongly with your statements in the post # 9. I'm very sad and concerned for the high racist content of the talkbacks posted by the majority of the Jewish Israelis regarding the issue of the Christian inhabitants of Medinath Israel. What would be the reaction of these people (The Jewish Israelis that post racist statements), if in my country the Christians say "Jews Out" ? - Surely they will cry loud " Argentina is an Anti-Semite country" - They see the straw in the other´s eye, but not the tree in their own eye. As a passionate Zionist, I think that Israel MUST BE a Jewish AND a Democratic State, with freedom for all faiths, without the venom of the Racism, to comply with the old proverb "Be a light unto the Nations" Again Jerry, Kol Hakavod for your clever post. Best regards from Buenos Aires AM ISRAEL CHAI
15. #3, #9, #10, #11, #12 Thank you
solomon ,   bklyn   (12.01.11)
Especially for #3 pm and your philosophy and #12 jackie and your reality.
16. I Wonder How Vatican Would React Jews Setting Up Tents There
Ariel Ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim   (12.02.11)
17. What happens when a Jew falls in love
Gayle Sussman ,   Israel   (12.01.11)
with one of these volunteers? We've seen this movie before in Israel.
18. even Melamed says they are idolators
Sara ,   Jerusalem   (12.02.11)
R. Melamed said in his article: "However, they still embrace a form of idolatry, believing that 'oto ha'ish' [Jesus] is son of a deity and the messiah who will be resurrected to redeem the world." We have clear halachah on how to act towards idolators as we see in the Concise Book of Mitzvot by the Chofetz Chaim: It is a negative commandment not to settle idol worshippers in our holy land for it is stated, Let them not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against Me (Shemot 23:) It is a negative commandment to not to turn one's attention to idolatry as Scripture says, Do not turn to idols (Vayikra 19:40). It is forbidden to turn one's attention to them in speech or thought, or even by observing. It is a negative commandment to have no mercy on idol-worshippers as Scripture says, nor shall you show mercy to them (D'varim 7:2) I would be very surprised if R. Melamed doesn't know what the 613 mitzvot are.
19. BIG ISRAEL, secular/traditional, respect for the OTHER.
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (12.01.11)
20. To #2 Gabe, from an Evangelical
John ,   Alaska   (12.02.11)
The raison d'etre of the people who follow Yeshua (we need a new name; 2 millennia of atrocities is more than enough reason to leave behind "Christian", which began as a slur anyway). Sorry - our raison d'etre is Scripture. One who believes Scripture believes that the Jews are Ha'Shem's chosen People and that Israel is His Promised Land. It's said to plainly and in too many places to be ignored or reasoned away. Therefore, one who believes Scripture, whether Jewish or Christian, must be a Zionist. Scripture can lead to no other conclusion.
21. Don't you read my book on mitzvot?
Rambam ,   Heaven   (12.02.11)
Negative commandment # 50: "Do not grant them favor". The "rabbi" leads his community astray and will get his reward.
22. Mina Fenton is a nut case
momo ,   Jerusalem   (12.02.11)
23. christians are missionaries by nature and idolaters from the
eporue ,   europe   (12.02.11)
jewish point of view... but do they really "settle" ? they will be on temporary volunteer visas... its not really settling ?... and otherwise i understand rabbi melamed, that non-jews have been always very welcome to visit israel...
24. those united christians (hagee) believe, the antichrist is..
eporue ,   europe   (12.02.11)
the head of the european union... (see wiki)... lol...
25. To #8 Chana - I do not.
John ,   Alaska   (12.02.11)
And several million other people who follow Yeshua and are devout feel the same way as I. You're in a Covenant with Ha'Shem. Period. There is something called Replacement Theology, which from what I've seen was simply an excuse for anti-Semitism. Much like Islam, its purpose is to usurp your promises, in contravention of Scripture. As you know, the result was horrific beyond words. It looks like in either my generation or the one before or after (I'm 46, not sure when this break happened), people who follow Yeshua have abandoned the damnable lie that is Replacement Theology, opting for Scripture instead. There is way too much Scripture that points to the existence of the Jews in the Promised Land _forever_, for me to decide which to post. We are as aware of this fact and believe it as completely as you do. I understand that there is a lot of suspicion, and a lot of pain, that we Christians have caused you Jews. I can't fix that. It hurts my insides to think about. I can support you and seek your good in my generation. That's why so many of us are there, Chana; not to convert you, just to bless you.
26. To #16 (and my last post for a while!)
John ,   Alaska   (12.02.11)
If there were Jews who came to the Vatican, the loving and Scriptural response would be to give them better than tents; it would be to put them up in people's homes, to feed them and NOT to try to make them stop being Jews. I don't know how the Catholic Church would answer, but the above answer is correct according to Scripture.
27. christians
chaim witz   (12.02.11)
With so many places to live in this world, why did these christians chose exactly the heart of a jewish religious community? Of course, the goal is to convert the jews to christianism. Anything different is lie or naiveness.
28. I'm still trying to kick the Brown Bear out of
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (12.02.11)
my backyard that killed and is feeding on my friendly neighborhood moose. Not to many Christians have teeth and weigh two thousand pounds. I count my blessings. Not to many Christians have a bomb belt strapped around their waist ready to blow up a Jewish neighbor either. Lots of Jews in Anchorage.....we are pretty friendly here. Come and visit some time.
29. most of the anit-Christian talkbackers appear
pinchas ,   boston   (12.02.11)
to be women-- probably Orthodox, clearly small-minded and suspicious, and perhaps (I'm venturing into the psychological realm) especially phobic of men in general and goysha men living close by in particular. I would think if Har Bracha made it clear to all that the Xian friends were there for a specific and limited time, had their own schedule separate from the natives, then things could work out and the jewish female phobia would dissipate.
30. hahahha
(12.02.11)
you people are insane
