3. One more thing
Misha ,   Milano, Italy   (11.28.11)
The author forgot to take into account the possbility of irrational moves inspired by religious fanatics.
4. Well argued absent Al-Mahdi intervenes
Norbus ,   Jerusalem   (11.28.11)
Al Mahdi is a concept of a messianic figure who currently hides in a well and who turns up post armageddon. Egyptians are not believers in this Shia doctrine though, which fills ahmadenejad's head with the Jin of Almahdi. Author overlooked the proximity of a nasty famine , due to global grain shortages and the Nile waters used elsewhere along its bed.
5. this guy is a fool
joe tango ,   USA   (11.28.11)
As one who was in the Yom Kippur War you are a fool.

7. Peace?
Z.Z. Coltrane ,   USA   (11.28.11)
When have the Muslim terrorists' ever thought logically? Once the Muslim Brotherhood takes over, along with the other regional dominos that are falling rapidly, they will immediately turn to their number-one priority (the evil hordes will unite): destroy Israel! No peace is coming! Prepare the dogs'-of-war. A sad thought, but real, nonetheless. On another point: a seven-year peace treaty is coming by way of the European Union. The Holy Scriptures describes this pact as a deal with hell...it will be. God bless Israel and may He protect his people against what is coming. Much fervent prayer for God's Chosen people.
8. What about...
Ariel ,   São Paulo - Brazil   (11.28.11)
The invasion of Israeli Embassy? And the inumerous times they blow up the gas pipe line?? So please don't be so fool...
9. No Confidence in Egypt
Dallas ,   Canada   (11.28.11)
Eiland expects Egypt to act rationally and make wise decisions based on economic considerations. However, we must listen to the message we hear from the Egyptian people and take them at their word. Hatred of Israel, emotion, trumps all logic.
10. Amnesia
Hertzel H'Tveriani ,   Tveria   (11.28.11)
HOW FAST CAN THIS FOOL FORGET THE YOM KIPPUR WAR ???? THE WRITING IS ON THE WALL, HEAR HEAR OH' ISRAEL..... a new "conceptzia" is uppon us, LOL
11. WHERE IS OBAMA?????????????

Ber ,   Yahud   (11.28.11)
The Muslims Brothers may well vie for control of the chaos by increasing rhetoric towards Israel that will eventually lead to war with Israel. The US has it's own money problems which aren't going away, and therefore it is irresponsible to rely on the US to pay our protection money. As for no real reason for war, neither does Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, or all the other Arab countries which are in one way or another engaged in some form of war against Israel. Some of the activities led to military wars, eg, such as Egypt's border guards allowing Al Queida to attack Israeli civilians. Then the secular gov't of Egypt demanded an apology from Israel, which was a definite escalation in the direction of war. The people of Egypt were thrilled at this prospect of war against Israel over a humiliating and foul ultimatum.
13. general's right
arne ,   chicago usa   (11.28.11)
egypt's got way to much on their plate to be looking to fight anyone let alone a formitable foe (israel).let's just keep a wary eye and light relationship and leave it at that. muslim brotherhood will not take controll of the army or the nation. keep one eye open when sleeping
14. No War but plenty BS troubles
Alan ,   SA   (11.28.11)
15. Beware. That was thinking before Yom Kippur War.
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.29.11)
Israel must always be prepared for war with Egypt. The peace treaty is a fraud intended only, by Egypt, to gain the incalculably valuable SInai. This was the thinking, prevalent among Israeli leaders, before the Yom Kippur War.
16. Wrong. There will be a war very soon (w/in 18 months).
Lobo ,   USA   (11.29.11)
And b'ezrat ha'Shem Israel will retake Sinai and Gaza, kicking out the terrorists in the process
17. Yom Kipper War
RickD ,   USA   (11.29.11)
Was fought to regain the Sinai and Egyptian honor. Egypt lost it on the battlefield but won in the negotiating room. They have no more reason to fight a war that they will lose on the battlefield. They will be too busy the next year finding what to eat to fight a war.
18. Is Eiland rational?
Frank ,   Canada   (11.29.11)
Arabs are not acting rationnally. PLO, Hamas and Hizb terrorists thought they could destroy with suicide bombers and rockets even if it was highly ridiculous. Arabs are still convince they can win a war against Israel. Betting on Arab rationality is the dumbest bet ever because it is proven to be wrong time after time. So the real question is to know if Eiland is rational.
19. Not as if they can financially cop a war posture
Cameron ,   USA   (11.29.11)
All of their energy will be devoted to trying to keep Egypt from internally coming apart at the seams. No, the lessons of the Nasser and Sadat years have been learned.
20. TEAR UP THE PEACE TREATY AND
Iranian Jew ,   LA   (11.29.11)
convince Egypt to take Gaza. Gaza is no use to us. We can neutralize Ham Ass by doing that. It will not be easy but it's possible. Israel can't handle or expect Gazan to just get up and leave to Egypt on their own. They don't want to make peace with us, they must make peace with Egypt.
21. No more war
Armand Torrent ,   N Delhi   (11.29.11)
Egypt is not interested in any war or friendship with Israel. Egyptians regard Israelis as a neighbor better to forget . So Israel should look east for any possible attack on its territory.
22. Egypt will Defend
Ibrahim ,   Cairo, Egypt   (11.29.11)
New Egypt is coming to fight and destroy the thing you call " Israel " if you ever thought of attacking us..If you keep peace with us we will keep it.
23. egypt -armand#21
arne ,   chicag usa   (11.29.11)
you are right as i said in my earlier comment, but so you'll know I was in cairo back in 2004. dirty is a nice word i would use to discribe the place. Israel should regard egypt as a neighbor better to forget. I think you got it upside down or inside out. whatever, if I were you i'd medicate first if you're thinking of going there.
24. Ibrahim.Why shud Israel think of attacking Egypt? For what?
Alan ,   SA   (11.29.11)
25. #22
joe ,   Newtown, USA   (12.26.11)
