31. Palestinians? Their own covenant says they're Arabs!
PETER SM ,   AUSTRALIA   (11.30.11)
32. Arab invaders got 80% of original mandate before partition,
PETER SM ,   AUSTRALIA   (11.30.11)
which they rejected and insisted on no recognized borders after they lost their war of annihilation. They sidelined the UN on day one of this conflict. Now that they controll the UN and it's resoltions, they cry UN !
33. #23 I'm one of the one million Jews
Maxim ,   ISRAELOAMERICAN   (11.30.11)
refugees from Arab land. I don't cry, I don't hate, I'm not a terrorist, I've worked very hard to build a happy and peaceful life for myself and my beloved family. I don't hate Arabs because I love my beautiful children. Palestinian Arabs can do and should do the same. They can build, they can prosper and live peacefully among themselves and the world.
34. Has Arab world accepted Israel thievery ?
Jonathan ,   Efrat Israel   (11.30.11)
The Jewish people have strong claims to the land of Israel - so there is no thievery involved - at best disputed land. You missed the point, Jews were expelled from all the surrounding Arab countries when Israel was re-established in 1948. Israel took in all these people. The Arabs living in Israel who left due to the war, were never welcome in these Arab countries. A basic principle in life is, to at a minimum, take care of your own.

You want to return to Palestine but where Is it? When was there ever an independent Arab state known as Palestine, who were it's leaders, what did they call the currency, where is it mentioned in the history books. What you call Palestine is actually a Roman name given to the Kingdom of Judea after the Jewish revolts. Its not named after any kind of Arab natives, Arabs were all living in the Arabian Peninsula back then. Between then and 1948 the Roman name stuck and then in 1964 Arafat & co formed the PLO and people who once called theselves Palestinians. That's as far back as your history stretches. As for 1948, have you never heard the saying every action has an equal and opposite reaction? The Arabs started a war because they didn't Want to divide mandate Pslestine despite the fact you already have 99% of the region. You wanted a war and you got it only flaw in your plan was you lost and as in all wars there were refugees created on both sides. Israel took in the Jews the Arabs didn't take jn their own. Even now in exchange for REAL peace Israel would probably take in the ORIGINAL refugees ( the ones who are 64+ ) with their partner but not their adult children and grandchildren but you people gave this warped vision that even a new born baby is a refugee with a right of return so the Israeli attitude I'd you can all go to hell. Time to stop blaming everybody for your failures but yourselves.
36. no thievery
ann ,   usa   (11.30.11)
Yes, Israel accepted the refugees who were chased out of their homelands throughout the middle east, whose land and belongings were confiscated from them, (land 600 times the size of the state of Israel!) Lydia, why can't all those Jews have the right of return to their homelands? In Tunisia, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Lybya, Syria, etc.? I suppose its okay to kick Jews out of countries and chase them to a tiny country, but only Arabs have rights? Fine - give back the land to Jews - nope will never happen. At least Arabs can live in Israel - recently a Libyan Jew tried to return to his homeland and to reopen the ancient temple there - and he was chased out again! No Jews allowed. Give me a break! Your prejudice and double standard is clear as day. And like all you "revisionists" you forget that jews have lived in Palestine for thousands of years, had far out numbered Arabs (Christian and Muslim) living in Jeruselum at the time of he Partition. If you you want to put things back than fine - give all the land back to the Ottoman Turks & Brittain!
37. #7 Israel didn't force Arabs into camps
Cynthia ,   USA   (11.30.11)
Nor does Israel keep them there. How do you explain 400,000 Palestinians still living in refugee camps in Lebanon with no rights? Why don't you help them lydia? It's about time the Arab world took responsbility for a problem they created.
38. True sons do not abandon their mother.
Salma ,   Palestine   (11.30.11)
Mr. Prosor, if you talk to any Palestinian in the Diaspora, they will tell you that they believe in the right of return. The historical obligation rests upon Israel's shoulders for the suffering of these Palestinian refugees and for granting indemnity for the injury caused them and compensation to the state that hosts them. We Palestinians will not accept any alternative homeland. any way thank you Mr. ambassador , you gave the world another reason why Palestinians need their own country which is Arabs mistreatment of Palestinian. Ynet , free speech my a$$!

40. Not really from Palestine
Aryeh ,   Elazar, Israel   (11.30.11)
As many as half (or more) of the original 600,000 never had roots in Palestine. They came to British ruled mandate territory because there was work available, and there wasn't employment in Iraq, Syria, or other places from which they came. The Arab league kept UNRWA out of the hands of the UNHCR, and therefore exempt from the requirement to resettle. Sad.

Sam M ,   UK   (11.30.11)
Israel can hold it's head up high ....a modern thriving democracy with a world class hi-tech industry, it absorbed all it's own refugees in the finest Jewish tradition of self help while the arab world with it's billions of dollars of oil money expect other countries to look after 'palestinian refugees' who are no more than a fig leaf to cover up time honoured arab hatred and intolerance for the Jews. The truth always comes out in the end!! Chuck another steak on the barbie and stop talking crap!
42. Jews never abandoned Israel despite the Arab invaders
PETER SM ,   AUSTRALIA   (11.30.11)
43.  Arab apartheid against their brothers,The UN Tutu
PETER SM ,   MELBOURNE   (11.30.11)
lefties say nothing. Their sanctimonious moral high ground is a sham Why have they nothing to say about what Arabs/Turkey/Iran & the Kurds?
44. To #10#
Ruben Jacobi ,   UK   (11.30.11)
I assume you will be lobbying for the Jewish people (nearly 1 million) to be able to return to their homes in Arab lands and receive back the the things that were stolen from them.
45. Gaddafi is the only one who even came close to blaming arabs
zionist forever   (11.30.11)
Gaddafi in one of his many speeches to justify right of return said that palestinians should have a right to return to their homes in Israel and Jews should have a right to return their homes in arab states. His intention might not have been to defend Israel and condemn the arabs but intentionally or not he said arabs created Jewish refugees who were expelled from their homes.
46. Actually, there are no "Palestinian refugees"
William ,   Israel   (11.30.11)
Technically, per UN definitions and Intl Law, these "refugees" are actually displaced persons and do not fall under the same jurisdiction and rights as other refugee groups. Most of these people ran without ever seeing an Israeli soldier and were not forced out as claimed. Take away the Arabs that did not own the land they squatted on prior to the 1948 war, take away those who illegally entered the area as economic migrants in the 1930s, and take away those who illegally entered Judea/Samaria between 1949-1967 when Jordan illegally annexed and ethnically cleansed the land, and you're left with a handful of families. Now, apply the common definition of refugee to the "Palestinians", not the Apartheid version that gives them rights that no other refugee enjoys, and you're left with less than 100,000 persons who were actually alive during the 1948 war and experienced the Arab onslaught. Finally, take out those who were actually forced to leave by the IDF and not those who left voluntarily, either to make way for the genocidal Arab armies or for greed hoping to take Jewish property after the war, and you have about 35,000 persons. THAT'S the real number. Now, of those people, ask who is willing to return to Israel, be loyal citizens, adhere to the laws of the Jewish State, and those are the ones who can return, but not to their old homes.
47. #10 - Once Israel became a State in 1948
William ,   Israel   (11.30.11)
they exercised their right of sovereignty which includes immigration policies. Every State can do that, and Israel is no different. By that time, the war was over and Arabs have lost. What say you about the fact that most Arabs ran without ever seeing an Israeli soldier, and most Arabs claiming to be "Palestinians" infact are not natives to the area but economic immigrants from the 1930s? When a population speaks 20 different languages (per British census of Arabs in 1934), it's tough to claim they are a unique population and native to the region.
48. Pure Hasbara BS! Not worth debating (end)
