Why not have successful women who made it on their own? This just communicates the idea that women should marry a man who might become successful and then go from there as opposed to making something of themselves on their own. Bad message in this day and age.

The term doesn't even refer to females as mature. That says it all, doesn't it? All this so-called empowerment, it's just smoke and mirrors.

It also shows that the measure of a woman's success is how successful her husband is. I know if I become super successful in life, my wife will be partially responsible, but I also know she won't measure her success completely on that because it works the other way around too.

Men and women are supposed to be equal in all walks of life. It doesn't matter how much the wife actually contributed, she should get recognition just like the man. The recognition does in fact matter because that is how women get themselves taken seriously.
