Henry from New York ,   USA   (12.01.11)
I'm glad to see the Albanians don't forget their friends. Blessings to the Land of Eagles.
2. Well,they got Kosovo thanks to US,so now they need to behave
(12.01.11)
3. God Bless Albania
Kipod   (12.01.11)
They defended the Jews during the holocaust and are defending Israel today; for this they can expect blessings from God! Islam sans the parts about Jihad and hatred of others is really the purist monotheism next to Judaism
4. WOW...That's refreshing..commonsense for a change
Scott ,   Australia   (12.01.11)
No wonder the others dont support him - makes too much sense...especially the absloutely valid point about the lack recognition of Israel. Yep. I like him.
5. Berisha is more pro-Israel than the Israeli left.
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.01.11)
When would we ever hear such pro-Israel common sense from Israeli leftists? Exactly. Never.
6. Brave man!
R ,   Israel   (12.01.11)
Mr. Berisha is certainly a brave man! In appreciation, I'll have to look into Albania for my next vacation.
7. He is just like hosni mubarak he will sell
tea man ,   marjayoun   (12.01.11)

8. The Albanian PM is an idiot
George ,   USA   (12.01.11)
What does the Albanian PM know about Iran? The man is obviously an idiot. With friend like this, Israel does not need any enemies.
9. Albanian joke.
Spengler ,   US   (12.01.11)
What he leaves out is he and his party still rig and steal elections in that country and albanians across Europe are renowned for their criminal prowess. He should have been asked how much the Muslim Brotherhood contributes to his party...
10. #2
Henry from New York ,   USA   (12.01.11)
During the Communist Era Albania was completely isolated from the world. After the end of that chapter in history Albania opened up, but didn't participate in the Yugoslav Wars. Albanians in Albania have never misbehaved as you post seems to imply.
11. Albania - I am going to invest
maimon ,   montreal, canada   (12.01.11)
The courage and proper attitude is commendable. I will go out of my way to visit and culture business with albanians. I never considered that such a poor and obscure nation could be so friendly and righteous. At least the leader is showing his constituents how to lead and think logically.
12. at last someone says it like it is!
scott ,   tx usa   (12.01.11)
13. World War II attitude
Adam ,   Ramat-Gan   (12.01.11)
Albania was the only occupied country during WWII where their Jewish population actually organically increased and not a single soul was lost because these brave people hid and protected their Jews. They have not forgotten this connection it seems. G-d Bless Albania.
14. NEEDED: Alliance for BALANCE&FREEDOM in ME via BIG ISRAEL.

Steven Gilbert ,   Teaneck   (12.01.11)
Wish there were more like him.
16. Religion has no influence on politics?
Haim ,   TA   (12.01.11)
Unfrotuenetly the same can not be said about Israel.
17. A lot to offer Isaraeli tourists?
Avi ,   NYC, US   (12.01.11)
Come on, every tourist to Albania can tell you about the level of corruption and petty theft. Israeli tourists to Albania: Do not even consider stealing towels and ashtrays from your hotel room! These items will be stolen back from you on the way to the airport.
18. Maimon #11: What will you invest?
Avi ,   NYC, US   (12.01.11)
Your food stamps?
19. makes me proud to be albanian :)
(12.01.11)
20. I am always suspicious
Sarah B. ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.01.11)
when Muslims say they support Israel. Maybe it is a plot.

Your post made my day! Made me laugh out loud. There is a famous Albanian joke that goes something like this - A man goes to meet with the king and on his way down in the elevator, the king notices that his watch is missing, so he asks for it back. After getting his watch back, he hands the guy back his wallet. :) Still, I think that it's great that we have at least one nation on our side :) ..... Israelis must stop trying to take anything that isn't bolted down. really doesn't serve well for our reputation. we already have a lot to work on!
22. Good news
Beary White ,   Norway   (12.01.11)
If this is true, then the pro-islamic norwegian leftist government would hate Albania!! But the people of Norway would be a friend of Albania. Yesterday the norwegian embassy in Teheran was re-opened !!..... and other major contries were taking steps to close theirs....
23. Berisha and Israel
Pete Hodge ,   Up Holland, UK   (12.01.11)
Once again, the Albanian leader is talking trough a hole in his head, though obviously for political reasons. His rabid support for Israel reveals the stupidity of this man. I lived in Albania for many years, and am fully aware of him Whether we like the fact or not, Israel has stolen Palestinian territory. Aided by Britain and other powers in the 1940's. Then Israle was the terrorists. Today, with the connivance of America, it holds on to land occupied since the 1967 war. Israel should agree to the return to pre-1967 borders. It should give up the the illegal settlements, built on Palestinian land. And remove the barriers to Palestinian independence. I do not support Islam in any sesne, nor the Israeli government. But Israle is the source of the attitudes that have led to the trouble of the Middle East and the wider world. Berisha should be seen for what he is, a joke.
24. What a clown
Haider ,   Gothenburg, Sweden   (12.01.11)
Does he really believe that the world cares about what he says?
25. Re #23
Andrew Brehm   (12.01.11)
So you are one of those who believe that land bought by Jews is land "stolen" by Jews and you think we ought to take your opinion into account why exactly? Incidentally, you say you "don't support Islam". I do. I have nothing against Islam. But your country, the UK, happily builds settlements in Scotland and Wales and did so everywhere else they invaded. When you take your settlers back from Canada and Australia, Israel can withdraw her settlers from the land that for some strange reason is considered "Arab land", despite the fact that it is located far outside Arabia. P.S.: The pre-1967 borders were a cease-fire line between Israel and Jordan. Israel didn't ask Jordan to violate the cease-fire and cross the line. For Israel to go back to "borders" that clearly invited invasions would be suicide.
26. Hete Podge-Israle is written as Israel.
Alan ,   SA   (12.01.11)
27. The world doesn't care either what Sweden believes!
Uzi Halevi ,   Brighton, UK   (12.01.11)
The Viking Empire is long gone and Sweden has become one of the most anti-Semite countries in the world along with Norway. I'll visit and invest in Albania but I won't spend £1 in anything MADE IN SWEDEN!
28. he is a MAFIOZO
Fatmir ,   Albania   (12.01.11)
he won't be PM for much longer. he is an american puppet
29. The Balkan Jews!!!
Ayeush ,   Gibraltar   (12.01.11)
The Hebrew's mediareporting of the 'extraordinary' attitude of Mr. Berisha towards Israel, has to be observed in the greater context of the transformation of the Balkan States towards their Jews who are no longer there, as they were anhilated during the WWII. The great Sephardic communities, the Spanish Diaspora that took roots in the Balkan (including Greece-Montenegro) and of course Turkey at the outset of the inquisition. Now, thank to those Balkan States the Holaucost stories of the Sephardic victims in the concentration camps are now being told. Israel has not dealt with this subject in a very decent and historic narrative. Just look what's going on in Serbia, and in Montenegro: the local government are taking conscience lately of the immense humanatirian tragedy befalling on the Sephardic communities. In this, and obviously geo-political context, we should translate the discourses of Mr Berisha and other Balkans Leaders.
