Changing why the place is crap.. It's crap cause the hotels r crap.. They have terrible service And subpar hotels! Fix up the hotels have international level of service and then maybe tourists will come!
3. Nice going, Stas
Devorah   (12.09.11)
So, you're finally going to get your FABULOUS STAS CASINO. You'll also get "plus city" hookers, pimps and lowlifes. Sure, take the land G-D gave us, mock what He did for us in the Red Sea, and turn Eilat into a glittering garbage dump.
4. I have an idea
Gabe ,   Tel Aviv   (12.09.11)
Rebranding? The money would be better spent rebuilding. The place looks and feels cheap.
5. Tourists will continue going to Egypt

as it is cheaper and if the want to visit Israel they will cross the border.

Mr Stas is promoting a destination where the "lotto"craving" easy bucks" citizens of our country will bring about devastation to their families. Let's not increase our poverty levels.
8. Make the place look pretty rather than like Ibiza, Marbella
Daniella ,   London UK   (12.09.11)
All it needs is for it to look beautiful, lots of palm trees, date trees, some horseriding on the beach, good quality food in the hotels. An internationally rated fine dining restaurant. Some good value for money 5* hotels. Also it should be advertised as a hiking paradise in terms of the desert. Make use of the scenery around. Should offer a desert by night experience, where a dinner place in the desert is lit up with tea candles. Also the scuba diving and water sports need to be pushed more, with the ability to hire yachts for the day! Get some class in and the tourists will flock to it!
9. It will be worthwhile
Ethan Schwartz ,   Eilat, Israel   (12.10.11)
if Eilatis can profit from it and not only the fabulously wealthy. Eilat has many local businesses, restaurants and attractions that give Eilat a special flavor. I hope the new tourist board which is headed by a non Eilati will help get people out of the hotels and into the streets of Eilat and will put a stop to the nepotism and protexia which is suffocating the city.
10. Needs a Mini-Disneyland for Kids, perhaps with Bible theme

11. a casino is an excellent idea
zionist forever   (12.22.11)
Eilat is a boring city its true, once the beaches close for the day there really isn't much to do at all, I have never gone for more than 4-5 days at a time. A casino is a great idea, if idiot tourists and Israeli's dreaming of the big win want to waste their money gambling better they do it in Eilat than Sharm El Sheik or Jericho. On the whole though a few more hotels, a casino are not going to do anything to make Eilat anymore exciting than it is right now ( not very exciting at all ).
