Today american jews live in security and have a high standard of life. But the circumstances are changing and maybe tomorow they can find themselves like the spanish jews in the XV. century. The white christian population of US is declining, coloured and non christian immigrants are nearing the majority in many states. This article is meaningless, because doesn't matter what Jeffrey Goldberg think, we already lost the support of Israel Jews. The thing that they left the country they was born tell us more than any words, that this people didn't want to live in Israel or support it. Doesn't matter how much money they donate to Israel. Some of them do it, because they still have family in Israel and some of them do it, because they just want them to be left alone by Jewish community. And it easier to donate money, than care one way or another about Israel. The ads were 100% correct. First of all, they aimed at Israeli emgirants, NOT American Jews! Anyone who knows a child of Israelis who grew up outside of Israel can tell you that the kid couldn't even write a paragraph in Hebrew and their knowledge of Jewish history and Israeli culture was as dismal as their American Jewish counterparts! I have lived here in Israel for now 20 years. The commercials were spot on. When I was in the US I was repeatedly told by other Jews that Israel had NO importance to them and social issues in the US were much more important.
