There is no word "shecht" in German. If you think the word "schlecht" (in english "bad"). What will be then? A "nomen est omen"-rubbish?

it is the word for bad. You got results for schlecht because Google thought you had most likely made a spelling mistake and left out the L. Enter it on WordReference though.

#31: I've learned all but the most complex sentence structure in German and it's not really hard in my mind. Then again, I'm very good with grammar (not in my native English though). Schecht might not exist in the German you speak, but it could be in some older and somewhat different dialect (when I find something weird I just blame it on Bavarian German or Swiss German). Heck, it might be Swabian for all I know. Could also be Yiddish. The fact is that the name exists and it has to have some origin, and so I am just proposing hypotheses - I am no linguist. #33, you're welcome.
