1. Communists and anarchists can't stand.....
FYI ,   Israel   (12.11.11)
ANYTHING that hints of rules, order or (G-d forbid) religion
2. lets get this right...
Golan ,   modiin   (12.11.11)
when in Arab countries religious extremists take over that is called a democracy... in Israel when a speed bump is placed in front of radical Leftists and religious extremists its an end of democracy... you got your worldview upside down sir
3. ..."We will stand in their way"...
eporue ,   europe   (12.11.11)
...they will run you over, and they wont even honk... ...and lets be honest - you have been already pulled from under the car - at least once... (intl intervention with the NGO bill)... ok, "never give up".... but...
4. Sami, in your view, who is the enemy?
C McCoy ,   Canada   (12.11.11)
Ok, one can accept to a certain degree that perhaps Haredim fit some of your description, as they clearly wish to turn back the calendar a few centuries. But are they "fanning the flames of war"? I hardly think so. So, are the warmongers and the Haredim in conspiracy on this? Seems a bit unlikely.
5. ACRI
Arie ,   BaGolan   (12.11.11)
Calling the ACRI an "Israeli NGO" is a farce on its face. It is FULLY funded by the Swedish government and Neo-Nazi George Soros with Michael's salary delivered by Soros
6. As a wage earner all I can say to this author :
olim hadashim ,   tel aviv/israel   (12.11.11)
Please realise your dreams in one 22 lands belonging to your people and leave us alone .
7. Every word
Sagi   (12.11.11)
a pearl of wisdom, every thought a noble one. Turning ideas into reality is very difficult and sometimes even requires a monumental effort. Dr. Martin Luther King understood this and he knew that he had to mobilize a huge force and march to the Halls of Justice and the Corridors of Power. If we cannot produce our MLK with the capability of inspiring the masses to similar action then all efforts are doomed to failure. Heed my words. A man of Churchillian stature is urgently required to answer the burning need before it is too late.
8. Stick to writing books
Average guy   (12.11.11)
Sami I like your books but why do you think that your social views are of interest?
9. More horror stories from people scared of their shadow.
rebecca ,   Modiin   (12.11.11)
dont waste time reading it.
10. To reach 85 and stay uninformed , without a trace of common
tom ,   tel aviv   (12.11.11)
sense is truly an amazing feat. "My Arab brothers" says it all. The sad fact is, that after this guy joins his mentors in the Sky, new, young ones shall appear (they're already here) since stupidity is like Anthrax-spores: it lays dormant in the ground, waiting for somebody to step on it...
11. There never was a halachic state and never will there be one
Michael ,   California, USA   (12.11.11)
As sure as the sun will rise tomorrow. As sure as the birds will sing and people will go on living without stupidity.
12. Peaceniks from the 60-es: the exorcist
Tom ,   USA   (12.11.11)
Most of these "human rights" orgs. are front groups for anarcho-leftist-arabist-communist parties. . Some - like this author - is living in an Utopian, naive universe, disconnected from the surrounding reality: the voice of the Eternal Dhimmi. This whole missive is saturated with pious platitudes like "spiritual fascism" (?), "forces of darkness" "forces of evil" ... gosh, it sounds like an exorcist from the 16.th. century. Others are more forthcoming in their drive to destroy Israel. Of course all is paid by Eu gov.ments.
13. idiotic old world view from someone who should retire asap!!
shadoil ,   Jerusalem   (12.11.11)
14. #1
Michael ,   Haifa   (12.11.11)
I am neither a communist nor an anarchist, but if they represent the opposite of you, they probably have one or two decent values
15. why is it?
joe sombrero ,   usa   (12.11.11)
That every leftist thinks that everyone right of left and believes that israel has rights in the West Bank and needs defensable border is a religous zealot in thier eyes?
16. #7. Sagi: You're off by 150+years
(12.11.11)
We had already produced "our" MLK his name was Karl Marx and he hated the Jews. Everything pertaining to Jewishness... We'd better refrain from producing other "visionaries" lest we'll be all killed.
17. #10. tom: your clever aphorism is noted
Tom ,   USA   (12.11.11)
18. #14. Michael: Word-smithing
Tom ,   USA   (12.11.11)
When the horror of Communism became public after the fall of the B. Wall, all the erstwhile Commie sought for themselves more benign sounding monikers. With a right-click on the mouse they became "liberal", "green", "democrat", you name it but their ideology still the same. I am an old timer, I know all their tricks from E. EU so you can fool only the young, naive Westerners.... Have a nice "Pine tree holiday" - we had to call as such in the East Block.
19. "hey aim to undermine the High Court" he should read Glick
Michael Redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (12.11.11)
Caroline Glick just published an excellent piece about the High Court and this subversive should read it. It's on her website entitled: "Democracy Strikes Back". An excerpt. Not only do Israel's judges appoint themselves, they have empowered themselves to cancel laws of the Knesset. Under Barak's dictatorial assertion that "everything is justiciable," the Court has given standing to parties that have no direct - and often no indirect - connections to the subjects of their petitions. In so doing, the Court has managed to place itself above the government and the Knesset. I didn't manage to read more than 4 paragraphs of Sami Michael's drek.
20. # 16 Response
Sagi   (12.11.11)
Not quite sure what KM has to do with MLK? Left and I are miles apart. I was referring to the Stygian darkness into which the Haredim are attempting to plunge us and was using MLK only as an example of inspirational leadership which produced motivation followed by results.
21. Michael from Haifa
Jake   (12.11.11)
Michael, are you a Jew or a goy residing illegally in Haifa wishing the destruction of Israel - foreign-funded of coruse? Each and every single little blurbs from you confirms the latter.
22. ACRI: the group that refuses to stand up for human rights
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (12.11.11)
There is more than ample factual proof that the Palestinians have a policy of war crimes against Israeli citizens - the same citizens that Sami Michael is supposed to be protected. However, his association decided many years ago that Palestinians have the right to commit war crimes, and that it is not the job of his association to protect Israeli citizens from repeated attacks against men, women and children. On the other hand, ACRI certainly has taken many loud and vocal stands against Israeli authorities when they feel that Palestinian rights are being affected. It is no wonder that the ACRI has marginalized itself by backing down from the principle of universal human rights. Sami Michael and ACRI are the proof that George Orwell was right: according to them, all humans are created equal, but Palestinians are more equal than Israelis. We don't buy that. Nor do we accept the fact that instead of protecting Israelis, ACRI prefers to protect a few extremist NGOs who are funded by foreign governments trying to thwart our national democratic agenda. No, Israel is not even close to becoming a halachic state, as he so fears. On the contrary, we've slid into the morass of being a politically incorrect state that values the lives of foreigners more than it values the lives of its own citizens. The government is trying to reverse that undemocratic wrong. Nobody is shutting up anybody, but they are trying to stop foreign meddling in Israeli affairs.
23. ACRI and Michael preside over erosion of human rights
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (12.11.11)
ACRI itself is one of the main reasons for the erosion of human rights in Israel. According to ACRI, all human beings are equal, but Palestinians are more equal than others, and Israelis are less equal than all. Thus, we have an organization allegedly dedicated to protecting the rights of its citizens, yet failing to do anything about the repeated war crimes committed by Palestinians who have rained over 10 thousand rockets onto Israeli civilians. ACRI has issued a couple of press releases, but other than that - nada. No wonder the Israeli electorate is voting right of center: the left has abandoned Israeli citizens in favor of the Palestinian underdogs.
24. #10 not uninformed
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (12.11.11)
Read #5: Michael isn't uninformed. He is bought and paid for. He is just doing the job for which he gets a salary.
25. #24:You're right, that's why they're called "Useful"
tom ,   tel aviv   (12.12.11)
26. Forces of darkness want to over rule Israeli voters.
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.12.11)
The forces of darkness are those who want to push a destructive far left agenda on Israel, despite the opposition of the overwhelming majority of Israelis. The forces of darkness want to over rule the consistent centre right voting patterns of Israelis. The forces of darkness are are far leftists and Israel has finally had enough of them.
27. ACRI is like our own ACLU in at least one respect
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (12.12.11)
On any given issue, they're usually on the wrong side. That Michael terms any attempt to reign in the now unaccountable High Court as an assault on "democracy" tells us all we need to know.
28. Sami Michael 100 % Correct
Haim ,   TA   (12.12.11)
You are right we will not allow the forces of darkness that use religion as a tool to supress women, gays and minorites in Israel to win. The religious will not force their so called life style on non belivers judging and slandering those who do not share their beliefs.
29. Sami Michael
David ,   USA   (12.12.11)
I just don't understand it: If you don't like the laws of the land you can go in either direction from Israel to live in a land that supports your views. Try syria, I hear the weather is nice this time of the year, or maybe iran where you might like to take your ideals up with the people; you might have to duck from Israeli planes while they fight for the safety of the world. Why live in a Jewish land where they are fighting for your rights? Why do you really hate the Jewish people? Yes, I said it correctly. Is it that God took them first as a people, and gave them the land that you are now standing on? Why do you hate the Jewish way of living mr. michael? You remind me of another person, just can't remember his name, oh yes, obama the muslim. He too is fighting to destroy the American way of life just as you want to destory the Jewish person.
