This will occur because of the relatively high population growth rate of the Haredim, compared with the rest of society. They do not support education in secular subjects or permit much contact with the outside world because it is a threat to their power. They marginalize women, and no amount of rationalizing can make this acceptable. If the haredi value system was so strong, followers would not need to be so shielded. Actually, if the value system was strong, the would be no need to keep such tight control over and micro-manage the lives of followers, as in done in various cults.
