Yea right ,   NY   (12.11.11)
Hamas.... peace? What a joke....
33. The EU-s responsibility regarding Turkey
Tomi Budapest ,   Budapest HUNGARY   (12.11.11)
Israel may have made mistakes in the past like any other country in the world. But blaming Israel as a barrier to the piece and glorifying Hamas as the bearer of the true piece proves one unequivocal fact: Turkey does not only hate the Jewish country but clearly uses mean lies against Israel. When the Turkish PM is not willing to be in the same room with an Israeli minister, they fully echo the paranoid antisemitism of Iran. Turkey is a NATO member country. The EU ( and the Nato ) should treat Turkey as Iran: break any ties with Turkey . The sooner the better. Do not be coward. Do not embrace an antisemitic, terror supportive country in the NATO!
34. Hamas Extending Hand of Peace????
Ze'ev ,   Nbg, germany   (12.11.11)
WHEN THAT HAS HAPPEND??? DID I MISS SOMETHING????? Hamas is really not the party one can blame to be "peacefull"!!! Dont know why Gul said it, but real facts couldnt be the reason! WHAT THE HECK!
35. aside from obvious reasons as to why we can't trust.........
valentina ,   israel   (12.11.11)
such comments about Hamas wanting peace... who does this guy think he is? because hamas is seeking peace, we MUST cooperate?!?!?! Obviously we want peace, but we won't go into it blind with people who are sworn to wipe away our existence. What about those times that we were seeking peace? even today when we do, the palestinians have a whole bunch of pre-conditions, so what the hell have we been fighting for? If the Palestinians want peace so bad, then he should make his stupid little remarks to them. This Turk has no legitimacy to tell us what to do, why doesn't he support Abbas?
36. GUL-Apologize to Armenian's & Kurds
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (12.11.11)
then feel free to try & deceiving us that Hamas wants peace Their Covenant, repeatedly states that Hamas is dedicated to the destruciton of Israel I case we should forget, the daily rocket barrages serve to remind us
37. Hamas offers the Peace of the Grave
Stephen in New York   (12.11.11)
Good friend, Turkey, cares for Israel.
38. Another Lesson in Human Rights from the Peaceful Turks
Boris ,   Ashdod   (12.11.11)
You could not make it up!
39. What's there to comprehend?
Henry from New York ,   USA   (12.11.11)
He might as well say "Turkey want to be strong like Ottoman Ox!" or something equally silly. Erdogan's intentions are obvious and it is also obvious that Gul is not being truthful: Hamas doesn't desire an actual war (very bad for business), but they don't want peace either (they lose power).
40. Islamist-Jihadist peace Crap
Brod ,   USA   (12.11.11)
The peace crap of the Islamist-Jihadists including Gul is the destruction of Israel. Israel should say NO to Gul and all the dark forces.
41. Abdullah Gul needs to see the truth.
Spencer ,   Israel   (12.11.11)
What a bloody cheek this idiot Gul has. The only violence being perpetrated in the area of Israel is that initiated by the fake Palestinian Nation. Israel has time and again offered it's hand in peace and still does so. However, the response from these arab terrorists has been suicide bombers, roadside bombs and rockets fired into Israel. So Mr. wise guy Gul, better you should address you remarks to your arab cronies , and not Israel.
42. Long truce better
zivron   (12.11.11)
A long truce for the non belligerant palestinian state the 1.1 land swap the internationalization of the Holy Basin and the postponent of new settlements and palestian right of return for sixty years is more realistic .Building in jerusalem is touchy and ought be equal in volume . Throwing arabs out of their houses needs to be embargoed . The control of the Jordan Valley the status quo needs remain in exchanged for undisclosed concessions maybe as yet not thought of benefits for the palestinian people.Holocaust Denial really needs to be outlawed in the islamic world it is a terrible stumbling block as is the effects of the severely restricted jewish escape from nazi occupied europe a terrible bitterness incomparably worse than the palestian loss of homes but sparing of lives to be five million now from seven hundred thousand in 1947-1949.
43. To Sarah B
AK   (12.11.11)
Gul has read Hamas's charter. The problem is that he agrees with it. Turkey today is no different ideologically than Hamas. One should ask a question: 'Who has llost Turkey' and I what are we to do now about this rogue 'NATO member' with a large, modern army.
44. To: AK at No. 43
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.11.11)
Turkey may have a large army, but the level of its "modernity" is questionable. NATO has never trusted them with the "big ticket items;" less so since Turkey got into bed with Iran. Moreover, Turkey has not been militarily tested since Galipoli (where it held the high ground), unless you count the invasion of helpless Cyprus in 1974 and the war waged by Turkish troops against unarmed Kurdish civilians. They have thus far managed to avoid involvement in NATO's ongoing conflicts in Afghanistan, Iraq, Waziristan and Libya, on the grounds that they would feel "uncomfortable" engaging in combat against Moslem nations. (Funny how this delicacy hasn't prevented them from waging war on the Kurdish people.)
45. Gul rolls out red carpet to terrorists
Cynthia ,   USA   (12.11.11)
Last year the red carpet was rolled out to Ahmadinejad. He didn't attend the conference in Vienna because he did not want to be involved in discussions to sanction Iran, Turkey's business partner. How can he take a stand against Syria but not Iran? How is it that Mr. Gul buys weapons from Israel, demands acceptance by the EU, wants a good relation with the US but is clearly in cahoots with terrorists? Mr. Gul creates a very serious credibility problem for Turkey.
46. To: Ian at No. 7
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.11.11)
Possibly. More likely is that he reversed the order, and his real last name is "Lug."
47. To No. 44
sipahi ,   Istanbul   (12.11.11)
And we also saw the IDF "tested" in 2006, against militia-civilians. We all know the outcome.

Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (12.11.11)
.....Palestine was never a sovereign Arab state. That's the one of differences It was Jewish in Biblical times, mind ....until it it became our modern day Eretz Yisrael... The PKK has an axe to grind, whereas the "Palestinians"...... .....well.....

Gil ,   Pak   (12.11.11)
Unlike isreal armed to the teeth with big ticket items that has been murdering unarmed civilians since 1973. Oops forgot Lebanon where the hezbas crapped all over them, That not in your Hasbarat list?
52. To Sarah
AK   (12.11.11)
Israel has been selling staff to Turkey until recently. Turkey may not be a military superpower but it is still a NATO member and NATO countries must face the fact that one of its members is Islamist and act upon it. Also, it brgs a question as to how much any country populated b y Muslims can be trusted since it seems only yesterday Turkey and Israel had very friendly relationship. The seemingly rapid 180 degree change Turkey has undergone from secular and friendly to extremely hostile should give everybody a pause when dealing with, making agreements, selling weapons and especially making any concesions to any Muslim country.
53. Gul - Welcome to Cloud Cuckooland !
Canadian lawyer ,   Toronto, Canada   (12.12.11)
You're well on your way to becoming Chairman and Chief. Executive Officer. Keep indulging your delusions.
54. End your violence with Kurdistan&tell Hamas to end theirs. If
(12.12.11)
If Hamas actually wants peace they will say so in Arabic to their people instead of preaching the oppositte
55. #44/43 Turkey's biggest military achievement in modern times
(12.12.11)
is the past Armenian Genocide and the currently on-going genocide of the Kurdish People! Turks are experts in genocide of civilian population, but will fail miserably when confronted with a real and disciplined army.
56. Stop Playing Cinic Games
Ricardo G. ,   Rio de Janeiro Brazi   (12.12.11)
Mr GUL do not be so cynic and so subtle.Hamas and Mashaal won't like it!
57.  #42
Standing Tall ,   USA/Canada   (12.12.11)
While recognizing the right of return of the "Palestinians", maybe you should mention the right of return of the one million Jewish refugees thrown out of the Arab lands. They had everything taken from them and I wonder why they are ignored. Compensation should be given to these people also.
58. They lied when they said if Israel give them Gaza, they want
peace! Satan lies!   (12.12.11)
There will never be democracy and peace in Middle East. because all Middle East besides Israel is occupied by 'Moslem' and 'Arab' states who don't believe in democracy. Just look how Moslems and Arabs are killing each other in Syria, Libya, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistna and... if it was not for the military power in Turkey the Moslems in Turkey would have been killing each other just like the other Middle East countries since long time ago. They only believe in power and violence. and the future as we see in Arab countires uprisings dosn't seem to show even the least sings of democracy happening in any of these countries for another century from now! there will only be more dictatorship and violence only in a differnt way. So far there was secular socilaist Arab dictators , now there are Islamist dictators like in Iran. Iran's failure is waiting for All Middle East , thanks to Socialist, Leftist EU governments help and inciting Moslems to more violence by encouraging Arab racism and violence against others specially Israel through their media and power.
59. Sipahi - they ar eboth Terrorists but...
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (12.12.11)
Israel's official policy is that PKK - as well as Hamas - are terrorists. Although Liberman had said that some words about supporting Kurts (never said PKK) this is official policy. Hpever PM Erdogan did say that Hamas is not terrorist, they are freedom fighters. He did invite Khaleed Meshaal to Ankara where he was received on red carpet at least on 2 occasions. Sipahi dostum, I know you are not very fond of AKP but as you see the reality is that they are still in power after 9 years and it looks like there is no alternative.
60. Gul is nuts
Ron ,   oc,us   (12.12.11)
