1. Save democracy
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (12.12.11)
These "artists" are not out to save democracy, but to destroy it. Did they protest when the government bribed Shas and then MK Goldfarb to pass the Oslo accords? Did they protest when Sharon was extorted (according to Yossi Sarid) to commit a crime against humanity and ethnically cleanse 10000 Jews from their homes? The proposed laws are all based on similar laws in the most democratic governments to prevent such crimes from ever recurring. In fact, the proposed legislation is not "anti democratic" but the last chance to save Israeli democracy.
2. The list sounds like: "Who's who" of Israeli, high-brow
tom ,   tel aviv   (12.12.11)
Lunatic Fraternity. "Nonluminatti" comes to mind....
3. Democracy and subjugation
Tarbouche ,   Aswan   (12.12.11)
Democracy is tied to national independance and is destroyed by definition when outsiders intervene What is it that leftists and dumbos fail to understand this
4. Anarchists and communists.....
TKY ,   Israel   (12.12.11)
who choose to give themselves other titles
5. Democracy?
Abraham Nachmias ,   Petach Tikva IL   (12.12.11)
Is it democratic to impose the rights of 50.000 people over seven million? Maybe they don't like it, but one of the problems with democracy is that it represents the people and not snobish elites.
6. ha fook
nva ,   jerusalem   (12.12.11)
this is so totally upside down (hafook)...it's nuts.. the things that are being proposed in law are to PROTECT democracy NOT destroy it. But it is to address the imbalance of the courts which does not in any way represent the will of the people. It is only democracy if the extreme left has control????
7. Bibi,save democracy from these leftists !
Trumpeldor ,   eurabia   (12.12.11)
8. it is from you whom we must be saved. bibi better have the
ralph   (12.12.11)
understanding and courage or israeli democracy is lost. typical leftist crying. you lost the election, the support of the people, you speak for a shrinking demographic and out of self righteousness you want your will imposed on the citizens of israel. what anti-democrats you are!
9. If it walks like a duck ...
Avramele   (12.12.11)
Anti intellectualism, hatred of minorities, the boogyman of the enemy within controlled by foreign powers, attacks on an independent judiciary, religious triumphalism and a much too cozy relationship of corrupt clerics and cynical politicians, an ascendent politician whose party is all about the hatred of the "other". The symptoms are there, the disease cannot be far behind.
10. Save THEIR democracy
Shaul R   (12.12.11)
from the unwashed masses. How democratic of them...
11. It's more let's save the 5th column
David M.   (12.12.11)
The 5th columnist NGOs funded by the foreign governments do not constitute a democratic expression of the Israeli people.
12. Our cultural apparatchiks
Raphael ,   Netanya   (12.12.11)
Definitely hate glasnost. Is it undemocratic whistleblowing to reveal that Israel bashing NGOs are funded by antisemitic groups or arab secret services? Our éartists", in the meantime, consider Vanunu as a hero, as he endangered national security.
13. Amoz Oz dares to talk after he gave a gift to Barghouti !
(12.12.11)
14. the professional leftist traitors are afraid. Good !

15. Save whose dmeocracy ? The Lefts ?
DT ,   TA Israel   (12.12.11)
As history shows iit is the Left who destroys democracy and complains when it does not go their way. As for these protesters they should go and find a proper job and do an honest days work for once.
16. They are full of shit
Sam   (12.12.11)
The only awards or recognition these hypocrites deserve is for lying out of both sides of their mouths. They had zero concerns during the expulsion of thousands of people from their homes in Gush Katiff and the real harm to their human rights. All of sudden the majority doesn't count?
17. Democracy means majority rule. Not far left minority rule.
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.12.11)
The pack of far left "intellectuals" who signed this petition don't understand the first thing about democracy. Democracy means majority rule. The vast majority of Israeli voters consistently elect a centre right government. That is what Israel must have. Far left minority rule, against the wishes of the vast majority of Israelis, is the opposite of democracy.
18. 70 people from 7 mil. make an absurd procent
Avram Goldsmith   (12.12.11)
These people have not a job or occupation, seems that are proffesional complainer which stem from dully understanding of Am Israel aspiration. SLOGANS /SLOGANS / BLINDNESS.
19. a letter signed by 70 people?
tiki ,   belgium   (12.12.11)
Wow, that's not a minority, its an minimaliority and the signitories are the usual leftist suspects. The freedom fighters of the State the guardian angels of Democracy.
20. a business opportunity
avramele   (12.12.11)
Judging from the talkbacks there may be a booming market in selling brown shirts
21. Go away filthy traitors!!! Let Israel live free
Yitz   (12.12.11)
of your devilish evilness! Am Yisrael Chai!
22. It's worse then upside-down.
2Mad ,   צרפת   (12.12.11)
Maybe they heard about Aleph-Bet, but this "letter" definitively smells like left-to-right writing.
23. on the track
nahum514 ,   Eilat, Israel   (12.13.11)
Bibi is finally going to destroy the "democracy" these hellenists love so much=unlimited funds on restriction=only used for anti israel anything. yasher koach
24. to #20, fashion trendist
2Mad ,   צרפת   (12.13.11)
A shirt whichever color you like : red, yellow, pink, white, black, a rainbow one - any that fits you. But for pants, you'll surely find it handy to wear brown.
25. Nothing to do with democracy
Zev ,   Israel   (12.14.11)
These leftists use the word democracy to further their socialist-communist agenda. They are as democratic as Egypt and Syria are. What a joke but I am not laughing.
