1. Enemies
zivron   (12.14.11)
Civil divisions are getting too wide at this time both the left dreamers and the right zealots. The holocausts have to be revenged for justice of humanity and the jews in israel need focus on all ways to prevent another holocaust the attacks on defence structures are intolerable,
2. The IDF and the State of Israel has completely lost it's way
Devorah ,   Israel   (12.14.11)
Israel has become an iron fisted autocracy just like other Middle East countries. There is no equality for anyone who opposes the lefts agenda. The interesting question is: When the people fight for their democratic rights and freedom against the brutal rulers (just like the Arabs Spring) who will the US and world support? Will the world stand by and clap as Netenyahu and his Nazi IDF shoot down and kill people trying to defend their homes and families? This is coming very soon and all of their attempts to first demonize the "settlers" is just to make the world not care when that happens. When Jews shoot and kill Jews WHO CARES? NOBODY! Defending yourself against this is NOT terrorism.
3. a rose (or pile of dung) by any other name...
avramele   (12.14.11)
Sure, lets call them Judean and shomronian militants, or over zealous Jewish Freedom fighters, or emotionally disturbed youth, anything but what they are even after people are injured and lives put in jeopardy. After all they are part of Bibi's core constituency and they cannot be thrown out of the big rightist tent!
4. NOT ENOUGH!
Israeli 2   (12.14.11)
The settlers should never be visited by thePolice or Army unless the Police or Army is there to protect and aid them against our common enemies. The settlers should NEVER be arrested or prosecuted unless they committed a crime. Being there is being HEROIC and a duty...it is NOT a crime.
5. Government by the Settlers, for the Settlers of .....
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (12.14.11)
THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL! Those who attack our soldiers are not "terrorists". They are the enemy of the State of Israel. There is no difference between an Arab or a Palestinian who tries to kill or hurt an Israeli soldier who is one of our children and an extremist fanatic Jew who calls himself an Israeli! Again the Prime Minister has shown that the country can go to hell as long as he remains in power! Netanyahu seems to have forgotten that a previous Prime Minister did not act against these extremists and his name was Itzchak Rabin z"l!
6. terrorists
alexi   (12.14.11)
setters or rather israeli patriots do not conform to the arab definition of terrorists-slitting throats, bashing babies' heads, restararant bombing, tractor terror, kassam and scud civilian fire, school bus destruction with putin antitank rockets. No what the few do is small non serious rioting provoked over the long haul by eviction, home destruction, roadblock removal. Fuad and barak are totally wrong to label them terrorists except for a very very few. You remember amona. So judeasn have been abused and neglected by israeli leaders and this had bred frustration. Judeans should forget about israeli help , raise a police force from their 300,000,and then set up an independent state of judea which could confederate with israel. settlers have zero in common with livni and barak and the superficial haaretz elite.
7. the rightists fanatic rioters.
Emanuel ,   Toronto, Canada.   (12.14.11)
These fanatics should be treated as terrorists in every respect,Netanyahu is not too far from them in idealogy, and its clear that his weak reaction to their crimes only gave them a boost ! they should have been shot when they attacked the base, what kind of a miserable government and leaders we have.this is the way of destruction of Israel ! BUSHA VECHERPA TO EVERYBODY !!! (including the army comanders) !!! DISGRACE !!!
8. Elected government cannot allow alternate centers of power
Stephen in New York   (12.14.11)
Remember the lesson of the Altalena Affair: The elected government cannot allow alternate centers of power.
9. what is a terrorist?
postroad ,   orange, ct USA   (12.14.11)
A terrorist is anyone 2who thro2ws bombs, rocks, shouts death threats etc but is NOT Jewish. If one does all of the above and is Jewish, he is NOT a terrorist. Only a touble maker
10. Too many opinions here
Sarah B. ,   U.S.A./Israel   (12.14.11)
Let me be frank with you ... Israel is a small country and there are too many opinions on the political spectrum. Those who are not satisfied, secular leftists, liberals, goym, grab your things and leave. Leave us alone. If you want to stay, join the consensus and be quiet.
11. These settlers should be severely punished
Adam ,   Jerusalem   (12.14.11)
Any one who attacks the IDF should rot in the prison whether he is a Palestinian or an Israeli. The IDF and the Israeli people should show no tolerance with them.
12. #2 "nazi IDF" you belong in Jail now
Mike ,   Raanana Israel   (12.14.11)
13. Offer them land for peace deal
USA   (12.14.11)
Just like Israel offers the Arab terrorists.
14. Names are not important
Beauchard   (12.14.11)
People who illegally try to enter an IDF base should be prevented from doing so. If necessary they should be shot. People who attack IDF soldiers should be shot. These were the rules of engagement when I was in the IDF that were supported by all Zionists, from Borochov to Jabotinsky supporters. There is no reason to change them. The rabid Rabbis and their foaming at the mouth Jewish supremacy supporters have become an enemy of the democratic Jewish state. They have become an enemy of Zionism. Whether you call them terrorists, rioters or mentally challenged, it is not important
15. What is a terrorist? @#9
Reluctant Hawk ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (12.14.11)
A terrorist is someone who purposely commits acts of violence against noncombatants for political reasons. The fanatics who attacked the army base, no matter how wrong their actions were, attacked soldiers not civilians and are therefore not terrorists. For that matter, neither are the guerrillas who took Gilad Shalit hostage. The definition is not connected to the affiliation of the perpetrator.
16. thank you #10
avramele   (12.15.11)
thanks for outing yourself and being clear as to what you are. do you have a name for it? I and any other believer in democracy, Jewish values and human rights do. And please don't say Zionism because Herzl, Ben Gurion, Weitzman, jabotinsky and 99% of the zionist forefathers with streets named after them would be spinning in their graves.
17. # 2 Devorah forget the homes were built illegal
Haim ,   TA   (12.15.11)
How pathetic to join the village mob and cry "they are demolishing our homes" Then you even accuse the IDF of being Nazis? An insult to our brave men and women who give their lives defending this country, not only from external threats but now from the right wing terrorists. In case you might not be aware there is a system of law by which all Israelis are bound to keep. Can i just go and build a villa next to the beach and tel aviv and declare it a settlement ? The answer is NO! Your hypocracy is pathetic at the very least.
18. SETTLER'S ARE UNPROTECTED, DISRESPECTED
Zimbi ,   NJUSA   (12.15.11)
19. Terrorists?
ken ,   canada   (12.15.11)
Get back to me when they are blowing up pizza parlours and cutting the heads off 3 month old babies. Until then they are like OWS protesters.
20. NOT even criminals, HOME protectors. Hashem loves them.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (12.15.11)
21. # 16
Birdi ,   Israel   (12.15.11)
Post # 10 is not Sarah B's post. It is the work of an imposter. For sure.
22. leadership
The Last Zionist ,   Eilat, Israel   (12.15.11)
the same leadership that created the atmosphere that led to the murder of Rabin is now leading this country and the crazies are thriving.
23. Time to start getting them back on board
Yael Schlichting ,   Raubling - Germany   (12.15.11)
There is a variety of issues that need to be tackled when it comes to the atmosphere among different groups of the Israeli population. By all means we not only need the help of Shin Bet to know the main responsible persons but we also need Shin Bet to know the rest! There are only a few leaders and lots of followers. Hence there are two main approaches. 1. tackle the leaders to turn the direction 2. tackle the followers address their issues. Israel is a country that is living in a state of war since 63 years and the people have changed!!! Endurance rallying is the wrong approach in the light of many Israeli citizens trying to acquire a 2nd citizenship so that they can leave the country whenever they like, while others can only watch them. To many are living an easy live while those who are living at the edge in Judea and Samaria live under daily threat. Their lives must become easier. And not only this! Israel was meant to be a Jewish state and this is what I love Israel for! I don't love Israel for the easy going leisure society in the areas surrounding Tel Aviv. I don't like the people who are driving around with their quads on Shabbat. On the one side, I see so many people wailing about high prices for food, on the other side I see more and more people with obesity and I see more and more food being thrown away. I am getting the impression that the issue is about inequality, fraternalism and solidarity within the Jewish society.
24. really?
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (12.15.11)
Administration detention and expulsion from Judea and Samaria are very harsh punishments, although they may be warranted. The problem is that Barak and Netanyahu have never applied these to the rioters in Bilin and Naalin. It will be interesting to see how the courts approve administrative detention of Zionists but will release Leftists.
25. 23-good points made Yael.
Ypip ,   Canada   (12.15.11)
especially your 5th paragraph on the issue.
