1. rule of law
alexi   (12.16.11)
okay, rule of law is paramount in a democratic country. In the same way, israel must defend itself against its sworn enemies. Hamas's word is worthless. Yet the court says israel cannot use an eye for an eye with hamas, that it alll has tobe legal. Fine, when the next 6 million corpses litter the extinct state of israel with kameinei , nasrollah and haniyeh surveying the scene, beinish and the court can smile saying that israel upheld its laws. And remind yourself that 3 of the biggest cowards in israeli history-livni, olmert and ramon are all lawyers, who except for a few are among the last to shed blood on the battlefield. Bibi should submit bills to the knesset and after the court to legalize asymmetric hamas style tactics in the war against terror groups.
2. Now an end to capture of live prisoners.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (12.16.11)
3. Like I always said..Against the sttlers the government got
Al   (12.16.11)
balls. Against the arab murders they cower. Sell it to the birds. The country is in deep trouble no matter how you slice it.
4. See how low the High Court can go!
David ,   Hartford USA   (12.16.11)
When dealing with terrorist murderers who cheer every Israeli death, one would think they don't constitute a civil party in the normal sense of the phrase. We owe them nothing. They caged Shalit for over 5 years while the stinking Arabs we released looked as though they spent their time on vacation! If Israel must bend over to show the world how dearly it regards the rule of law, then get rid of the Arab trash. (But nobody cares when Arab courts flog, amputate, behead, hang, and maim their prisoners!) It's time to separate criminals from terrorists against the country. Military courts need to try terrorists, where judgement can be swift and final. The death penalty for terrorists must be enacted.
5. THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE AND THE PRESENT ''ISRAELI'' LEADERS-S
SJOERD RUURD VAN DER ,   MULTIVERSE   (12.16.11)
SHIP. TO THE PRESENT ''ISRAELI'' LEADERS-SHIP: RELEASE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE OF THE PALESTINIAN JAIL-POPULATION, END THE SURPRESSING OF THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE AND RECOGNIZE AN OWN STATE FOR THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE IMMEDIATELY AT LAST. CONSULT ALSO THE ENTIRE UNITED NATIONS ORGANIZATION IN THAT CASE ABOUT THAT ISSUE AND SO ON.
6. Like a payment dispute between a store & a customer.
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.16.11)
Israe's nutty High Court rules as if this is a payment dispute between two parties of good faith; such as a store and a customer. The fact that Hamas is a murderous, genocidal terrorist organization doesn't even enter the equation. Israel's High Court appears to be absolutely blind to morality. Not to mention common sense. Is it any wonder virtually nobody respects the High Court?
7. What Do They Have To Lose?
Noah Lev ,   losAngelesUSA   (12.16.11)
Israel has great micro chip makers and tech experts, not to forget its universities, which excel. Howev er, when it comes to protecting its population..something every country gives priority to, Israel is almost last among nations. This deal is nothing new, yet israel doesnt learn from its mistakes. The world views the bible's passage "an eye for an eye" with some applause and some disdain, misinterpreting it to mean, take the entire body for an eye. There are murder laws ( see Eichmann), but never applied to single incidents ot murdering a Jew. Israel needs to broaden its eye for an eye, to include just that, an eye for an eye..and forget about the nerves of the familie sinvolved, or the correctness of the verdict. If a 12.00 noose was applied for 1st degree murder, (and their accomplices), terrorists would not look fwd to "deals". They never lose. If killed, 72 virgins await. If they survive, they will get light jail time..or go free soon afterwards. Israel needs, as one former editor said, to grow up. Until then, look for more of the same. What do the Arabs have to lose?
8. The Ghetto Mentality Still Prevaiis
Noah Lev ,   LosAngelesUSA   (12.16.11)
B. Meyer is so right. This is an easy one to solve, considering Israel's real problems (Iran, Muslim Brotherhood, insurgency, Nakba Day celebrations, etc.). Just follow Texas punishment procedure..hang em high, or lethal injections, or the chair. A 12.00 rope also saves money. Give murderers their appeal rights ( 2 years at mos), If denied, use Eichmann's penalty as warning. Or as a general once said, "Let them die for their country", in this case, a delusion of a state. I ask, the reverse, how would Jews be treated? Israel needs to get out of the Middle Ages and grow up. The ghetto mentality is still with it.
9. It's who deserves honor?
Jack B. ,   USA   (12.16.11)
The Palestinians' along with Hamas are not honorable people; thus, it should negate the second part of this ill-fated deal. It who you give your word to that means everything: it means nothing when you deal with these Muslim animals. The Israeli courts are asinine! This is a perfect example when the democratic principle works against those very tenets of truth and honor. When dealing with the Devil...there is no fairplay. The Israelis' should tell them to be happy with what they got; and, no more deals in the future! Next time, all bets-are-off! God bless Israel!
10. Why appease myopic leftists and Muslim terrorists?
Robert Blum ,   New Albany, USA   (12.16.11)
The Hamas terror organization kidnapped a Jewish soldier and broke international laws. Why is Israel obligated to fulfill any deal with ANY terror group? Next will Israel agree to allow a non-nation of self-made, fake "Palestinians" who invented themselves in the 1960's and previously claimed their right to live in Syria, a seat at the un-United Nations?
11. Viruses are cheaper than bullets.
Michal ,   J'Lem, IL   (12.16.11)
Maybe they can inject them with Ebola before they release them to their fellow suicide bombers. That way they won't feel like failures as Jihadis....or inject them with trackers so they can follow their networking, could be interesting, Nu?
12. What If ?
A.C.Guard ,   USA   (12.17.11)
God forbid an Israeli woman gets captured. Israel will give away the entire country to get her back.
13. To: A.C. Guard at No. 12
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.17.11)
No, but they can have Anat Kam.
