the history of marranos is very well known in the Caribeen.Cuba(my native country) had a strong jewish community which left its legacy in the country.Nowdays, the Jews of Cuba are is a sort of rebirth and discovering their jewish roots. As Cuba and Jew , I am very happy that our brother once again survived to political division, hatred and discrimination!!
4. Jewish fate
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (02.19.12)
The great majority of jews have disappeared from east Europe, because the Nazis. Also almost every jew left the middle east arab countries, because the so called "anti zionism" of local muslims. This is tragic, but not illogical. But why did they emmigrated for instance from Jamaica and Curacao is too high for me.
5. What is most interesting to me is that:
(02.19.12)
the books author Josette Capriles Goldish shares her father's last name "Capriles" with the Venezuelan Opposition leader: Henrique Capriles Radonski. However Mr. Capriles Radonski despite having a Jewish mother and despite having a Morrano father is himself a very religious Roman Catholic. Capriles is a Portuguese name which found its way to Holland (The Netherlands) and from there to the New World. So that leaves me wondering is Josette Capriles Goldish actually Jewish today? That is did her family remain Jewish throughout time or is she a returner who found her own history and then decided to write about pirates etc. Basically I think it would be interesting for Ms. Capriles Goldish to write about her own specific history.
6. Marranos in Brasil

13. @12 I will ask ur question when you remember to ask this one
Israeli ,   Israel   (02.19.12)
How many Moslems were involved in the Slave Trade moving black Africans from their homes to the Middle East (particularly Saudi Arabia) as well as west to the White Protestant Slave Traders of the United States?

they are called pirates because under British common law ( the jurisdiction they were under) revenge is not a legal concept as it may be under Jewish religious law. They robbed the Spanish. The fact that they were pissed off at Spain is irrelevent under British law. Your confusion arises from regarding the pirates as being under Jewish law . They were not. They were part of a British colony and therefore subject to British law.
15. #13 I will answer yr question if you remember to ask this
(02.20.12)
