1. Itamar Ben-Gvir non persona grata
Haim ,   TA   (12.21.11)
Itamar Ben-Gvir is non persona grata and is nothing but a rascist thug, where ever there is trouble along with MK Michael Ben Ari and Baruch Marzel belong behind bars.
2. This is Totally Unacceptable!
Josh Ebert ,   Chicago, USA   (12.21.11)
I am wondering if this has to do with Ehud Barak?
3. Its all the settlers fault
Rabbi Yakov Lazaros ,   USA   (12.21.11)
Israel has no worries from Hamas, Hezbollah, or Iran. All its problems are caused by the settlers and the right wing. Believe that and I have a bridge to sell you. What a stupid country.
4. This article is disgusting and absurd!
PZ   (12.21.11)
5. HAPPY CHANUKAH!!
Israeli 2   (12.21.11)
6. Netanyahu is a defeatist
Rachel ,   US   (12.21.11)
He allows Barak to impose his leftist agenda and stands by and does nothing. That tells me he supports it too.
7. Difference between right and left
Mark ,   Detroit   (12.21.11)
the difference is that the activity carried out by the right wing teens could spark a Arab riot or a reprisal killing. The lefts support for Arab causes, while upsetting to some, would cause no violent reprisals. The Army is trying to save lives while the right wing is trying to start a fight.
8. #7:Aren't you a genius Mark! What happened in your childhood
tom ,   tel aviv   (12.21.11)
-not enough vitamins?
9. @ Mark # 7
Jo B ,   Israel   (12.21.11)
How can you say something so naive. If we used what sets off the arabs as our new judgement stick of right and wrong wed be in far bigger trouble than were in today. clearly when they are blowing up our buses and pizza stores they're not concerned of whether it will set off a jewish riot. i happen to be a "rightist" but i also happen to disagree with any violence some of the settlers are using, but the problem is, and the author is correct (whether hes a thug or not # 1) that the left use the platform of free speech and democracy etc. to protest all their views, including and for the most part the ones that believe how evil their own country is and how israel can do only no good. but when god forbid someone else expresses any opinion they dont agree with they have no problem not only not extending the same tolerance towards them but in fact the opposite, they respond with violence and believe they are justified in doing so. their judgement is so clouded and they are so far gone from reality in their holier than thou attitudes there is just no discussion to be had, its their way or no way.
10. The hill top Young ones
David ,   On this planet   (12.21.11)
Are your children they are not the enemies of Israel. If you treat them like your enemies they will become your next nightmare
11. Itamar Ben-Gvir for Member of Knesset !
olim hadashim ,   tel aviv/israel   (12.21.11)
12. Mr. Ben-Gvir: if Right wingers didn't break laws....
watcher ,   Israel   (12.21.11)
then the police won't have to arrest them and then there would be no so-called witch hunt. In other words if you break the law then prepare to be punished for your behavior.
13. It is interesting to note that...
Sephardi Leftist ,   Israel   (12.21.11)
Itamar Ben-Gvir consistantly persistantly condemns all Israeli media as leftist and lacking in perspective. Now comes that he is using the media he condemns as leftist to present his views. What an interesting lesson in democracy we have all received! After all this gentleman is an extreme right winger and yet the very medium he condemns willing publishes his views. My question: Where it that Mr. Ben-Gvir and his colleagues were granted the control they seek would I or any other leftist be allowed to publish our opinions and thoughts in newspapers he and his colleagues sponsor and support? Wishing each of you Hag Orim Samach and may we all see the light!
14. Differences
Abraham Nachmias ,   Petach Tikva IL   (12.21.11)
The difference between youth with rightist views and the ultra left ones is that ultra left represents no danger for the elite in power. The hilltops youth as well as the growing moving to the right of the Israeli public makes many people shake with fear, they see their 100 years reign coming to an end, that's why they fight, they just don't see that they are fueling the fire with that.
15. left more dangerous than Iran
joe sombrero ,   usa   (12.21.11)
The Left is trying to push Israel back to 67 borders. The Left and Ehud Barak are more dangerous than Iran.
16. #7, seriously?
Danny   (12.21.11)
17. #13, one in a sea of left-wing articles.
Danny   (12.21.11)
18. #11 take off your rose colored glasses
Haim ,   TA   (12.21.11)
adn take a reality pill ! The man is a rascist thug of the worst kind.
19. #15 You must live with a housing shortage
Nour ,   Palestine   (12.21.11)
It's not our problem that you don't have homes in your newly invented nation built on our ruins... The economic migrants must return to their origin. That is the central prerequisite for peace.
20. Article gives clear cases and comparisons
rebecca ,   Modiin   (12.21.11)
Like the writer or not, this article gives clear cases of dis-proportionality, as well as clear comparisons. All the negative talk backs so far are personal, and cannot attack the facts given.
21. #7 leftest actually physically support Arabs rioting
rebecca ,   Modiin   (12.21.11)
while the rightest activities might provoke an Arab riot the leftists actively take Arabs to riot, encourage them, and take photos for the world press. Please read the article. It tells you how many IDF have been hurt in Left / Arab riots. I think one can conclude that leftest are more dangerous.
22. Rightests Face Witch Hunt
Nili   (12.21.11)
The big thing here is that the "right" are trying to hold on to our country while the left are trying to destroy it. As for Tel Aviv people, I fell sorry when the first long range rocket bursts your rose-colored bubble...
23. #20 - not "clear cases and comparisons" but DISTORTIONS
PZ   (12.21.11)
STORMING AN IDF BASE? Running pogrom-like attacks on political opponents, Jewish and non-Jewish? Vandalizing religious sites like angry little Cossacks? The facts are very much NOT on Mr. Ben-Gvir's side, Rebecca. Indeed, to any knowledgable observer, the truth is precisely the opposite: the only disproportionality has been the absurdly SOFT treatment these disgusting little extremist thugs have been getting!
24. #21, please take some responsibility for your side!
PZ   (12.21.11)
This isn't about "rightist activities" vs. "leftist activities." It is about whether one has the self-respect to denounce reprehensible behavior -- whether or not it is politically convenient to do so. As a person who is left of center, I'd be more than happy to denounce any leftist that "physically supports Arab rioting" as you say. In fact, I would see such a person as a shame, ESPECIALLY because they associate with my side! Why can't you and Mr. Ben-Gvir do the same? Pretty sad to see.
25. Don't forget to mention sexual assaults on girls protesting
Orly ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (12.21.11)
... Ah, thought so. Censorship is the flagship of this "true democracy," especially when the censor is the military and the material being kept out of the press is stuff the military would rather keep between its ranks and its victims...
26. Double Standards
D.Brooks ,   London, UK   (12.21.11)
The world vilifies Israel for unfair reasons and Israeli mainstream vilifies orthodox Jews. Yeah, if only we didn't have Jews living in Judea and Samaria, there'd be no Israel-Palestine conflict, right? As a secular Jew, I'm beginning to wake up. If you don't want a Pally state along the '67 lines but don't want Jews living in Judea, WHAT DO YOU WANT?!
27. Orly if what you say is true that all is censored...
Ilana ,   Israel   (12.21.11)
then how is it that you know about these alleged sexual assaults on girls protesting? Is it: a. because you were there and are one of them? or b. because you like me read about these allegations in the press? In other words your comment doesn't hold even three drops of water!
28. OUT to the leftists.
(12.21.11)
29. The left can't win unless we allow it to.
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.21.11)
Israel is a centre right state. Virtually every election in the last two decades has proven that. Public opinion polls emphasize the point. Once recent poll, for instance, showed almost 80% of Israeli Jews oppose ceding Judea and Samaria. The right is a large and growing majority in Israel. The left can't win uless we allow it to. We must assure that right wing parties live up to their mandate especially Likud. If Likud's leadership abided by it's Constitution; the Two State Final Solution would have died long ago. There would be no restrictions on Jewish building in Judea and Samaria. There would be no Israeli retreat. In short, most of Israel's main problems would disappear.
30. #27, Ilana
Orly ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (12.21.11)
No, moron, from people who were there, in the Gush Katif expulsion, then with escalation at the Amona expulsion, and since with complete disregard and continued lack of accountability in successive demolitions and other demonstration dispersals. And that is if you rank sexual assault, as I know many women do not see a difference between being felt up, fingered or forced to engage in conjugal-level intercourse. I do see a difference (not to belittle the illegality and perfidy of a government that oversees and condones it) but many women would call all these cases "rape."
