32. Someone please tell me what's wrong with this
The arguments in this issue seem ever to be:
1. We can't let them in, we'll disappear
2. Compassion demands we let them in
3. They are not our problem, we shouldn't let them be.
NOBODY - except, well, me - has ever said:
HOORAY! Baruch Ha'Shem for sending us converts to join the family of the Jews.
Why not? What is wrong with there being more Jews?
The author of this article says:
"Soon they shall get married and bring descendents to the world that shall stay here forever. Perhaps they shall even establish their own political party.
The only Jewish state in the world would then be able to submit its candidacy for membership in the African states bloc. The danger of assimilation here will approach its extent overseas. "
Why is it that you assume assimilation must be the kind that makes Jews disappear? Why can't their marriages and having children mean more and more Jews?
The ONLY problem with this is that they largely do not YET share your faith.
So do something about it. You don't invite a houseguest over and then let them impose their own house rules. Instead, you teach them your rules. Israel is your house, you have a right to your own rules. Your rules come from the TORAH, there are no better rules to follow.
Or perhaps more accurately: When a baby is left on your doorstep, you feed/clothe/shelter her, you teach her your language and your values and your faith. If He wanted her to have a different language, values or faith, Ha'Shem would not have brought her baby basket to your doorstep.
So the babies at your doorstep happen to be adults. What's the difference, except that they took a few years or decades to get to your doorstep? Be their fathers and mothers anyway. Teach them the Law from the time they wake up to the time they go to bed, keep teaching it as they go out and come in and complete their daily activities.
There are only two differences between the hordes of adults you have and a baby:
First, these adults already have their own language, customs and faith.
Second, their presence is voluntary, on both their part and yours.
So WHEN you say that Israel is the nation of the JEWS, they - and you - have a choice whether or not they stay. If they stay as Jews, then in a few years, they will _be_ Jews, and in a few generations your multicolored grandchildren will be celebrating Passover and Pentecost and Rosh Ha'Shana and Sukkot and observing Yom Kippur.
If this is not a future they like, then since their presence is voluntary, tell them to leave.
If they say they will follow your laws but would rather keep their faith, then see if their faith is compatible with a Jewish Israel.
There is a faith that teaches the Jews are G-d's Chosen, to be cherished as close friends. You can trust them to do so.
There is another faith that says Jews are apes and pigs to be enslaved or, preferably, killed. You can also trust them to try to do so.
Keep the ones who will support and defend you, and force the others to leave. It's as simple as that.
Excepting colonists who would force Sharia on you, this situation need not be a danger.
Why do you think Ha'Shem made you Or Ha'goyim? Light is comfort and safety, and it is hardwired into humankind to go from darkness toward light.
Yes, There are a lot of people who want to kill and replace you. Don't tolerate them for an instant, and certainly don't let them rule over you like a couple of MK's I could name.
But there are also a lot of other people who love you, who want to join you, to support you and join your Jewish faith.
What's wrong with letting them?
