There is no problems between Catholics and Protestants here. Belfast is the capital of Northern Ireland where the trouble is. And the wall is not any where near 25miles long. Deane gets about €16,000 a year for teaching and involvement in arts projects such as festivals and promoting music by visiting schools. That's hardly enough to live on. You can't tell someone what to think in a political sense, other than getting some funding from a state body he is a private citizen, his private political views are none of the state's business neither is the funding he received in any way connected to his political actions he advocates. Crap like this continues to undermine friends of Israel like myself which in the long run undermines Israel itself. The amount (finally corrected) given to Raymond Deane over the last 5 years is somewhere between a social welfare income and the average wage and such a modest amount does not constitute an endorsement of his views.  This is a non-story.
