1. a question
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (12.22.11)
All you say is true. So why did Obama support the Islamist takeover of Egypt, knowing this would happen?
2. islum is bent on destruction, on bending everyone to the
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (12.22.11)
will of the most radical crazy person that can become a leader. Even today as the American troops are gone from Iraq 13 bombs have gone off and the sunis and the shitties are killing each other again and some 50 are dead. ALL of the violence in the world is tied is muslums hating muslums or muslums hating Jews or muslums hating someone else or muslums demanding this or that. Someday this pogram will come to an end just as hitler came to an end.
3. Whose Concern Is It ?
Abdel Karim Salim ,   Jerusalem   (12.22.11)
The proverb goes : " if you don't bother to care about yourself why should I bother to care about you " ... !

It isnt just Muslims its HUMAN. NATURE. And it wont be solved until either we geneticly engeneer hate out of humanity or until The Day After becomes a documenterary
7. Islamic behavior is no surprise...
Roger ,   Lima, USA   (12.22.11)
All one has to do is go back and read the blessing Ismael and his descendents received from the God of Abraham and Issac when he and his mother Haggar were sent out.
8. Obama
tzvi ,   J-M   (12.22.11)
#1. Obama had no choice- the outcome of the revolution was obvious.
9. Obama's immaturity/inexperience in full bloom
Shep ,   Memphis   (12.22.11)
Obama is infected with the same brain desease that infects all liberals: They think that if they project their sensibilities towards their enemies - especially the backwards tribal factions in the Mideast - that they will "see the light" and sing "we are the world". Jeezzz, anyone with a grain of brains could have seen the Salfis and extremeist taking over. After all, they were in the streets the whole time.
10. #3: because the custodians of euro culture are fools...
rick ,   walnut creek   (12.22.11)
#3, there is something to what you say but, even if the custodians of european culture are empty, convictionless, fools, there is a worthy heritage that merits preservation. humanity is made poorer when that heritage is destroyed (even if no europeans will stand forward in defense).
11. #4 Epo-louse
HaifaGuy   (12.22.11)
Which part of You/Rope are eu from? Probably the part where 1/2 of the population are jobless. Ew must be one of them Ewwwro-trash misfits finding dubious respite in impotent and tired Jew-bashing. Why don't you tell us why you hate us so much? Did a Jewish classmate outdo you in Math class? Or did a Jewish professor reject your application for the Faculty of Fine Arts? My interest in your story is purely zoological, since you are a human louse, un pou, mon ami, pas plus que ca... An itchy one, though(((
12. # 4
Birdi ,   Israel   (12.22.11)
To the blank # 4, dumb, dumber than dumb. Shame!
13. Fanaticism is guilty.
Luiz F Haddad ,   Niteroi, Brazil   (12.23.11)
The refered events in Egypt show the evil that comes from religious fanaticism and intolerance. Unhappily, almost all Islamic countries live, till today, into a Middle Age. Turkey is yet an exception, because of Mustafa Kemal's revolution, but Erdogan's government has endangered it. We, true democrats, ought to denounce that situation, without fear or cowardice. Israel will have peace only when Arab Palestines liberate their minds from those bad values. But the Jewish State must keep her good principles, forever.
14. #5 Tom, I did it the easy way
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (12.23.11)
I took somethng eporue had posted, found it by browsing, eporue, frequents conspiracy sites for information, he doesn't have a brain of his own
15. We just close our eyes and everything will be fine
Yael Schlichting ,   Raubling - Germany   (12.23.11)
And he comes to the conclusion: His mishap was an illusion, for the reasons pointedly, that which must not, can not be. (Christian Morgenstern) This is a typical western problem. We have our image of the world and everything, that appears to be not from the world, as we see it, cannot exist. It's just like in science, when you have a hypothesis and really everything is pointing to it. All you see and common sense. What you are missing is final proof. Hence you must not say, that it is! The utmost you will be allowed to say is, that there is reason to believe.
16. I should quote the whole poem
Yael Schlichting ,   Raubling - Germany   (12.23.11)
The Impossible Fact ================ Palmstroem, old, an aimless rover, walking in the wrong direction at a busy intersection is run over. "How," he says, his life restoring and with pluck his death ignoring, "can an accident like this ever happen? What's amiss? "Did the state administration fail in motor transportation? Did police ignore the need for reducing driving speed? "Isn't there a prohibition, barring motorized transmission of the living to the dead? Was the driver right who sped . . . ?" Tightly swathed in dampened tissues he explores the legal issues, and it soon is clear as air: Cars were not permitted there! And he comes to the conclusion: His mishap was an illusion, for, he reasons pointedly, that which must not, can not be. (Christian Morgenstern)
17. i love birdies posts they make me fly
yenta babushka   (12.23.11)
18. Something worth remembering
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.23.11)
The beginning of the end of the Roman Empire was when they burned the library at Alexandria. It is heartbreaking to contemplate the rich tradition and intellect that was lost. But it was all downhill from there for the Romans. The same will hold true for the Arab/Islamic "civilization." To the extent they have not already fallen into the deep void of forgotten history, by destroying intellect and literature, they are in essence destroying themselves. I don't particularly care about them -- they deserve the fate they are crafting for themselves -- but I do mourn the loss of history, culture and civilization. But individuals who are not anything close to civilized do not deserve to survive. They are parasites upon civilization, and to the dust and forgotten annals of history shall they return. Good riddance. The world has had more than enough of that psychopathic lot. I always knew it would happen -- I dared not hope that it would happen in my lifetime and now, evidently, it appears that it will. For that I am extremely grateful.
19. To: Israel Israeli at No. 1
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.23.11)
Because Obama has been running a private agenda for a very long time, which has everything to do with benefiting and promoting the despicable interests of radical Islam, and nothing to do with benefiting the interests of the United States which, by the way, is his job. He is the worst president that the United States has ever had, and that is saying something. We've had quite a few bad ones -- but Obama is by far and away the worst. All presidents, once they leave office, establish libraries. I'm inclined to think that the only jurisdiction in which Obama will be invited to establish his "library" legacy will be Cairo. Oh, wait! I'm wrong! They seem to be burning books in Cairo these days, not reading them. Perhaps Iran, then.
20. to #11 re. the anti-semite incarnate #4
not eporue!   (12.23.11)
"Eporue", the eponymous "European anti-semite" has as usual opined on his/her favorite subject; why this moron's twaddle is allowed to appear on a Jewish website is surprising to say the least. Regardless, "ce pou a certainement besoin d'un traitement radical sur mesure Juive... quelques cristaux de Zyklon-B en inhalation lui ferait surement grand bien. Am Yisrael ch'ai!...La'azzel lek'ol sonei Yehudim!
21. burning of Buddhist university @ Nalanda
Joe ,   London   (12.23.11)
Something the article forgot is the burning of Nalanda. This massive university library took months to burn. Buddhists have a knowledge of psychology that we are only at the edges of. (Think how monks can sit in the lotus position, set themselves on fire, and not even feel the pain of burning skin). Islam is barbarism, pure and simple. If islam had not been stopped in its spread into asia, for sure buddhism would have been totally wiped out. Even know muslims in southern Thailand carry out weekly assassinations of buddhist teachers and monks there. And the worlds disgustingly biased media do not even report it.
22. Plausible deniability: Muslims can't rule states [end]
BUTSeriosly   (12.23.11)
23. eporue go to haaretz
(12.23.11)
24. Liar
sam ,   Cairo   (12.23.11)
it wasn't salafis or Muslim brotherhood who burned it. where do you get your news?
25. #20. not-eporue: Haven't you noticed yet?
Tom ,   USA   (12.23.11)
Because "they" are busy censoring and deleting pro-Israeli informations but "they" feel comfortable with antisemite posters: a sweet reminder of their beloved old shtetl-life in galut.
26. The foreign media will blame Israel as usual
DavidM ,   USA   (12.23.11)
It will not be long before the foreign media blames Israel for the burning of Egypt's science center. I envision a column by Thomas Friedman in the New York Times stating that the arsonists were so angered by Israel's policies that they had no choice but to destroy Egypt's treasures. There is no tragedy that the media can not blame on Israel no matter how far fatched.
27. #24 sam cairo
BEN JABO ,   ISREL   (12.23.11)
Don't keep us in suspense, who burned it? You should have included the information in your post
28. to #24
Ketem ,   Canada   (12.23.11)
so if it wasn't them (which makes the report wrong) who was it ? some foreign terorist group ? outside people, for sure - I mean, well, the Egyptians would never think of destroying history, now would they....
29. To: No. 24
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.23.11)
So, who burned it? The fact remains that it is BURNT. Right on down to the ground. Destroyed, along with artifacts and books and papyrae that are simply irreplaceable. Someone did it. Someone is responsible. Or did one of the mummies spontaneously combust? Moslems are a blight upon civilization. You have contributed NOTHING. You have destroyed so much, all of the devastation in the name of your pedophile "prophet."
30. hitler
none ,   none   (12.24.11)
was hitler a muslim?
