Who says there's never any good news?
On a study-group trip to Israel in 1995, our rabbis led us in a small service in the ruins of the Hurva.
On a trip in 2008, my wife and I came to the nearby square and I hardly could believe my eyes: The Hurva was being rebuilt! (I had to ask someone to make sure I was seeing what I thought I was.)
Thanks to Ynet, I now have a picture of the inside; maybe I can see it all for myself on my next visit,
"Conquered" or "liberated" doesn't matter -- although I favor "liberated" -- as much as the fact that the decades-old reminder of loss has been replaced by rebuilding. It represents the story of the last 63 years.
