1. Israel must begin showing zero tolerance for treason.
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.25.11)
It's way past time Israel started showing zero tolerance for treason, whether it's committed by Zoabi or far leftists. Traitors deserve to be vigorously prosecuted and severely punished. Presently patriots are prosecuted while traitors enjoy velvet glove treatment.
2. nonsense
IlanaB   (12.25.11)
We conducted ourselves justfine. Turkey wa at fault. Isael nationals and \knesset member were most certainly wrong. I will never forget or forgive and Zoabi, IMO is as good as the terrorists on board the flotilla. Shame on her.
3. impunity
rafi ,   tel aviv   (12.25.11)
so do whatever you do and just wait for things to calm down. so the leftist wont let you be prosecuted. give me a break. she has been involved in so many incidents. lets stop being blinded before it is too late.
4. Actually Israel did rather well on the diplomatic front
Danny   (12.25.11)
again a lying media. They got the pictures of the "peace activists" beating soldiers as they landed out quickly and made sure no one ever forgot it. The UN came the closest it ever could to not blaming Israel and apart from Turkey - who were looking for an excuse anyway - had zero impact on Israel's relations with anyone.
5. Charge Him In Court!!!
Amnon ,   Kew Gardens, NY   (12.25.11)
The way Israel provides cover for the Left needs to end. This is treason and an act of war. This person needs to be behind bars...now!
6. Here's how it's done.
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (12.25.11)
Any time that the Israel PM or any of his ministers is questioned on the affair by anyone whomsoever, the only reply should be: "THE MATTER IS CLOSED".And that's all. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
7. As long as we have people like
David ,   On this planet   (12.25.11)
Yakir Elkariv to write this kind of nonsense and you rush to publish, Israel will be doomed to fail on any level.Well since you are at it what don't you praise hat criminal and give her a medal to boot.. The purpose of going after here is not for us to know that we are wonderful but to let her know and everyone how rotten she is LOL
8. Rightist Contentment
Devorah   (12.25.11)
There are times, such as this case with Zoabi, when it is not enough to be content knowing you are right. It is not enough to be content with deadly projectiles being launched from Gaza just because you know you are right. Retaliatory return strikes are not enough. It's like a never-ending game of ping-pong, especially knowing their end game is Israel's total destruction. Israel appears to be increasingly complacent with thought instead of action while she possesses the capability of putting a stop to these heinous acts by her enemies both internal and external. The Israeli Right is becoming more of an observer of her existence than a participant, and giving Zoabi a pass for her treason will come back to haunt Israel.
9. I guess it serves no purpose to jail Price tag activists
Mordechai   (12.25.11)
After all it just provokes the right. Also it serves no point to imprison Rabin's assassin. After all it won't bring Rabin back and it makes the Kahanists mad. The state has enough evidence as she confessed to being on the ship. What is she going to pretend she wasn't there. The fact is we need to prosecute those who commit political violence regardless of their politics. This writer doesn't want the MK prosecuted because he is a leftist and therefore justifies left wing violence. We can't just prosecute "the settlers" or "the kahanists" any more than we can selectively prosecute "the arabs" or "the haredim" We need to prosecute "the violent" whether or not we agree with their reasons
10. Put Zoabi behind us
Ralph ,   Israel   (12.25.11)
THAT will be progress
11. you are so wrong. treason must be dealt with. the ancient
ralph   (12.25.11)
greeks had it right. exile is the only response.
12. No Purpose???
John ,   Herzliya, Israel   (12.25.11)
What about discouraging other traitors?
13. Knesset Declaration of Allegiance
Devorah   (12.25.11)
Zoabi swore: "I, (name), pledge myself as a member of the Government to bear ALLEGIANCE TO THE STATE OF ISRAEL and to its laws, to carry out faithfully my functions as a member of the Government and to comply with the decisions of the Knesset." Zoabi broke this sacred and legally binding oath via TREASON. What else does she have to do in order to be thrown out of office?
14. Zoabi
David ,   America   (12.26.11)
She should be brought to trial for treason. If she is acquitted then so be it for now, but it will be time for further legislation. If the laws in Israel are not strong enough to punish what the world can see in front of their very eyes then there needs to be some work done in Israel Law. If what I have heard and seen from her own lips on the news from Israel is true, how could she be innocent. She is guilty of treason. However the evidence must be weighed correctly.
15. "Put it behind us"
Shalom ,   U.S.A.   (12.26.11)
But she and her arab colleaues will continue their treacherous activities.
16. Wrong decision. Zoabi is a traitor
Scott ,   QLD Australia   (12.26.11)
Seems very 'convenient' to abandon Zoabi's prosecution. She and her arab cohorts are a 5th column and using Israel's democracy to destroy it from within. This person has no regrets and thinks her actions are acceptable - well, yes - they are , but only to Israel's enemies! What a ludicrous, crazy situation.
17. Racketeers "I will close my eyes, in return for favor"...
Miron ,   USA   (12.26.11)
18. Traitors in wartime deserve death sentence !
who cares   (12.26.11)
To let traitors untouchhed sit in the parliament is an unheard foolishness ! On the other hand this government is demonizing / bashing the settlers on every occasion - shame, shame on you !
19. Zoabi endangered IDF!
David ,   USA   (12.26.11)
Zoabi is a criminal who endangered the IDF by creating a volatile & dangerous atmosphere on the Mavi. She is guilty as "hell" & must be be punished by the IDF if Israel's courts are up to the task!Period!
20. Lets not forget too
The Mad Zionist ,   SF-NY   (12.27.11)
She attacked a security personnel in the knesset session. How many chances will/can she get? This in my eyes is even bigger, but also the fact that she got violent during a session should have been that straw. But I called this from a mile away. Israel kind of needs her even though we really don't. Israel is too afraid of what the world will say, sometimes we have to pick and choose what we need most. Jake sarna
