1. Keep digging , you haven't even scratched the surface
Hippocrates ,   Earth   (12.26.11)
pun not intended. Over 1,000 years of Jerusalem as the capital of the Jewish people up to that pint 2,000 years ago----- there is a lot to find over those 1,000 years of continous Jewish sovereignty or majority in Jerusalem.
2. Aha, what ever happened to Dr. Shocroun?
Afflalo ,   South America   (12.26.11)
It's always the politics of minimising any Sepharadic contribution that Yediot Aharonot should be 'proud' of itself. Dr. Reich, with all due respect has only been involved as a request by archeologist Shocroun who is actual chief of the City of David archival. So, get your buts out of attitude and deliver the goods as they are, not as you wish them to be.
3. Another excellent find by Reich and Shukron
Henry from New York ,   USA   (12.26.11)
We can only hope there will be many more to come.
4. #1 and #2
Henry from New York ,   USA   (12.26.11)
#1, actually this excavation has been going on for a long while and even before this one there were multiple other excavations. I don't remember the image all that well, but it appears about 1/4 or 1/3 of the city has been excavated. So yes, not all is found, but they didn't just start. #2, actually the last two or three articles involving this dig mentioned Shukron exclusively. It is strange that the writers seem to do a tagteam of the two.
5. WHERE ARE ALL THE 'PALESTININAN' SEALS & COINS I KEEP HEARIN
BERTHA ,   BOCA   (12.28.11)
WHERE ARE ALL THE 'PALESTININAN' SEALS & COINS I KEEP HEARING ABOUT? WHAT ABOUT ALL THE OTHER PALESTINIAN ARCHEOLOGICAL FINDS THAT SIMPLY DON'T EXIST, JUST LIKE THE 'COUNTRY' OF 'PALESTINE' NEVER EXISTED!!!
6. DIG!
Debbie Westbrooks ,   Burlington, U.S.   (12.28.11)
Please keep DIGGING! I am a Christain, and I love the Jewish History. The history of Israel is my history as well, I was adopted, into the Family of Jesus Christ, when I accepted Him as my Lord and Savior.
7. BC & AD?
Neal ,   Minneapolis USA   (01.01.12)
Excuse me, but why is a news report in an Israeli newspaper about an object likely used for the Temple using BC and AD? I realize that some Christians get their shorts in a bunch when the religiously neutral BCE and CE (Before Common Era and Common Era) appear, but we're talking about objects used for Jewish worship in the Jewish Temple compound in the Jewish nation -- the Jewish nation then and now I cannot understand why some Christians see using neutral, factually correct terms as somehow insulting, as if denying them their belief in the divinity of Jesus. BCE and CE are a scientific equivalent of Greenwich Mean Time or the metric system. Are systems such as aviation that use GMT somehow denying the reality of the clock in other localities? Does describing things in grams and meters somehow insult the United States?
8. #7, CE and BCE have two uses.
Henry from New York ,   USA   (01.02.12)
One is for the sake of political correctness (a foul and loathsome practice) and the other is because the estimated birthyear for the biblical figure of Jesus Christ is believed to be off by four years or so. It doesn't really matter though and who really cares which is used, BC or BCE? It's the same dating system.
