Would revoking the recognition first require the ammendment of the PLO charter entry pledging to work to anihilate the State of Israel? If so the revokation would require recognition as a prerequisite. I guess that seems like a good start.

Abbas refused to talk with Bibi without making pre conditions he knew he could not deliver and hold his coalition together. Even when Bibi gave him a 10 month building freeze instead of saying lets talk he made new conditions and when the freeze ended he blamed lack of talks on settement building. He has inisted on going to the UN to get a state bypassing talks even though the US has said time and time again it will veto it if is must. Abbas though keeps saying he won't stop trying. Congress have threatened to make aid to the PA conditional on their dropping their UN bid. They keep pushing. Israel warned them if they applied for UNESCO membership it would withold the tax funds but Abbas went through with it anyway. When Israel withheld the money Abbas started moaning that he coulddn't pay the bills. So what exactly do these PLO idiots expect to gain from this latest move? All its going to do is play into the hands of the hard liners in Israel and they risk Congress witholding all funds. If the palestinins had half a brain cell between them then they would realize the smart thing to do would be renounce violence, recognize Israel and talk unconditionaly and through talks they would be able to negotiate concessions out of Israel. Since the so-called "recognition" of Israel by the PLO was the basis for allowing them to return from exile in Tunis [after Sharon and the IDF booted them out of Beirut], any "reneging" as Ashrawi suggests provides a legal basis for Israel to demand that they return to Tunis [Sarkozy's Navy will be glad to take them again], or be hunted down and killed by the IDF, since they will have become terrorists at war with Israel again. Adopting the same attitude to Israel as Hamas insures that mandatory US law will be applied, cutting off all aid to the PA, pulling "Palestinian state" off the table, banning US government contacts and outlawing private US citizens from funding them. Back to 1991 is the best and fastest route for "independent Palestinian state" to return to the dustbin of history where it belongs. And the best part...not a damn thing Obama can do about it, the laws in the US are mandatory.

Infact, I think the only thing they did do as part of Oslo was recognize Israel, but they didn't end terrorism against Israeli citizens and a goal of replacing Israel, they didn't end incitement in schools and on TV, they certainly didn't cooperate on any infrastructure projects like water where they refused to drill wells then complained they are thirsty, etc. etc. So, take away the "recognition of Israel"- it's worthless anyway and considering your position as terrorists, is it really worth anything? All you'll do is put the final nail in the coffin of the peace process (and believe me- you've sunk nails in that coffin for years) - and you will have nothing else to hide behind when Israel drives you into Jordan and Egypt from whence you came.
