1. Again:We don't need to hear anything from rabbis, THEY have
tom ,   tel aviv   (12.28.11)
to hear from us, civilized citizens and it's- "Go back to your cages, right now"!!
2. Just Ridiculous
Abba ,   Rehovot, Israel   (12.28.11)
I'm not for segregation on public transportation, I think that the problem could be solved with making a private line. But, to arrest someone for calling someone else a vulgar name? That's just ridiculous. I was once called a mother F***r but someone, and didn't get arrested. Could I have made a compliant at the Police station? Could I have made a citizens arrest? I think not. More and More the government are enacting/enforcing laws that are just ridiculous. Where's the freedom. It used to be there was a bit of freedom here... but more and more it's all about getting picked up, arrested, harassed by the police because of ones politics.

Hmmm... that was intelligent. I would've expected more spelling errors with that train of thought. What are you, in the third grade?

Birdi ,   Israel   (12.28.11)
For a man whether he is religious or not, to call a woman a slut is not political but down right rude & very disrespectful. When we start respecting everyone, no matter what their religion is nor where their political affiliation lie, then & only then will the atmosphere here in Israel improve amongst our fellow men (& women) By being arrested, hopefully the man will learn how to behave respectfully towards women.
5. Excuse all the grammatical errors in my first post
Abba ,   Rehovot, Israel   (12.28.11)
6. 1 tom Your post is an insult to..
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (12.28.11)
civilised citizens.
7. Religion in Israel
Yahudi ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (12.28.11)
My prayer to God is that religion in Israel is replaced by moral and ethical practices. Religion is a primitive and at times involves barbaric practices. It is is full of superstition and false beliefs. Science has proved that most of religions, including Orthodox Judaism, to be wrong in their beliefs. Our beautiful and noble State of Israel is being ruined by religion.

Ora, I think Tom's post is an insult to Rabbis.
9. # 7 now you wish to do away with that

I don't really agree with your view on religion in general, and Judaism in particular, but for the sake of argument, would you then say that there should not be an Israel? That people of Jewish decent have no claim? I assume so, since our claim to this land mainly comes from the same place that Jewish law comes from, etc. I do think however, that some pervert our beautiful religion for their own gain. It's sort of like saying because some blacks are involved in crime, all blacks are criminals... On the science bit, I can bring you an example of the opposite being true; where Science has evolved to prove the Torah correct. In school we all learned that there are 9 planets in our solar system, Rambam wrote in the 1200s that there are 8 planets (derived from his knowledge of Torah), now science has determined that in fact there are only 8 planets, because Pluto is really a moon. There are other instances as well. Did you know the basis of our Religion is directly rooted in Math? At any rate, I would also assume that you would agree to Israel should not be a "Jewish" state, but rather a democratic free state for all. In other words you are for a one state solution, correct? What do we do when an extremist view is voted in democratically? And what if it's Muslim? Then what? Personally, I have no problem with anyone's views, as long as they don't hurt others. But, I do have a bit of a problem with taking Judaism and perverting it to mean something or to be something that it's not. Judaism is about we where chosen to receive the Torah at mount Sinai, we are obligated to learn the torah and do mitvahs, we are judged daily, yearly, and over course after our final act. Believe or don't believe in Judaism, but thats what it is. Don't try to change it.

I want to correct, or clarify that math is not the basis, but is an essential part of the mechanics of it. One more note; I am willing to say that this is what I believe, and allow others to believe what they wish. I do think though, that its a bit egotistical to say "False Beliefs", as not you are I really have knowledge of whats false and whats not. It's not as simple to prove as 1+2 = 3... Anyway, Love and Peace.
12. 8 Birdi,that s obvious...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (12.28.11)
but he also insults educated men and women, who knowing better, would not think of sending people with different opinions into cages.

OK, now I understand you & totally agree with you Ora.

Abba ,   Rehovot, Israel   (12.28.11)
I totally agree with you, that it is rude and disrespectful, on the other hand I totally disagree with it being an offence one should be arrested for. I mean, at the end of the day, it is our (shared) opinion that it is rude and disrespectful, and I would guess the opinion of most. But once we start arresting people for voicing their opinion.... in short, someone should've punched this guy, but he should not have been arrested. The arrest was clearly politically based.
15. #7 one more point
Abba ,   Rehovot, Israel   (12.28.11)
I think today we base our understanding on a free democratic state on the system in the US. In the US a person would not be arrested for insulting a women on a bus. He might get the crap beaten out of him by the other passengers, but not arrested, unless he was doing in a loud and boisterous way, in which case I think he would be arrested for "Disturbing the Peace", I guess that is why this erks me so much, it stinks of being a primitive third world view of enforcing the law. I 'd like to think Israel is more.
16. To all of you, both civilised and civilized nutniks~
tom ,   tel aviv   (12.28.11)
Religion is an insult to humans and human mind. I intend to insult it on every occasion possible. The chief peddlers of this intellectual waste, "Rabbis" deserve it tenfold. Yes dear Abba, I knew this already in third grade; as for grammar, well kiss meine tuches!
17. Is that crying I hear from HaKodesh Baruch Hu?
AlanEigenstein ,   North Bergen, NJ   (12.28.11)
First and foremost, we are not permitted to believe this evil gossip on the basis of just an internet article (as much as I respect ynet generally). Secondly though, on a theoretical basis only, if such events are occurring, it is not possible to call these people wearing the garb of Orthodox Jews "observant". They are disgracing themselves, which they are permitted to do. Far worse, they are disgracing the Torah and The Name, for which there is no remedy. I cannot imagine what "torah" they think they have learned; it is not possible that they are learning Torah From Sinai. And every rabbi who does not take the affirmative action of ordering these people to act in a proper Torah way are repeating the horrific sin of the rabbis of the Kumzi feast--whose sin led directly to our 2000 year exile, which continues to this day. Yes, we are still in galut, even the people living in Medinat Yisrael are in galut--specifically because we continue the same baseless hatred which began our 2000 exile. What do we do when even our rabbinic leaders fail us?
18. The Great RAV David Grossman
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (12.28.11)
said [in other words]: A Tora student without Dereh Eretz is like a donkey carrying a Sefer Tora on his back. These hooligans don t behave like genuine Tora students, and they are NOT. Journalists are in search of such cases, and who seeks find. Haredi men respect women, and their aim is to protect their wives and daughters.Their good intentions are misinterpreted and dirtied. Some politicians hope to get votes ,they would not have otherwise ,by opposing the segregation in buses. People should have the possibility to chose the way of life they want.
