31. Nr 28. Well -
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (12.29.11)
I cant say that Armenia or the Armenians has behaved well either, but others failures does not give me the right to fail myself. If I myself demand Recognition for my own suffering, I have also to Recognise others as well. However Armenia as a Nation was not Independent untill the 90ies, but Israel long before that. So as Nations, who is first in Failures here ?. There are many Jews in the US who has worked against an US Recognition of the Armenians suffering, so individually I can understand The Armenians Hostility against the Jews. This is wery sad because two peoples with the same experiences as principle, what an Victorious Combination if they Cooperated. Those two peoples because of this their experiences, has an Tremendeous Resolve and will not back down to anything - " Never Again " !!!. Arn.Sweden.
32. The Time is Now
Robert A. ,   Palm Desert CA   (12.29.11)
As an Armenian American, I greatly appreciate this concern and sypathetic discourse. Sadly we were the prototype for the destruction of Jews in Europe and there is no question of the historical record ( which is the main ploy the neo-Ottomanists use). This should make the recognition of the Genocide of primary significance to Israelis. May I submit that in the real world of geopolitics, now would be the penultimate time to formally recognize the Genocide because France has courageously taken the flak and Israel could escape the "wrath" of Turkey relatively unscathed. Believe me, we are working overtime in the US to get this done by here by the 100 anniversary of the Genocide. Shalom!
33. Morally we must recognize Armenian shoah.
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.29.11)
Israel, of all nations, should not have waited to recognize the Armenian shoah. We should have done so decades ago. There is no question the Armenian shoah, and the world' s tepid response to it, emboldened the Nazis to carry out their Holocaust against Jews. Hitler himself admitted so. We should not wait a moment longer to do the right thing in this regard.

35. Israelis are smart people
Levon ,   cologne/Germany   (12.30.11)
The knesset debate was very pleasant. Israelis are smart people. The majority of you knows very well, what is the right thing to do and are informed about how turkey tries to influence the debate in israeli society and politics. There are some agitators and liars in every nation, so also in this forum. Remind this please, armenians are not hating Israelis, jews or any human being on this world. We never supported Hitler or the Nazis. In the US army 80 000 soldiers and the Russian army 300 000 soldiers of armenian descent served and fought during 2.WW against Nazi-Germany. Yad Vashem honored more than 20 armenian civilians as righteous. We are a small people, but much more a tenacious people, when it comes to justice. I think, we deserve a special place in remembrance and history and so we will fought for it the next 100 years if necessary.
36. I don't care what the Armenians did or didn't do in WW2
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (12.30.11)
Genocide is genocide. What the Turks did to the Armenians was genocide period. Those people were murdered for one reason only because they were Armenians and the Turks are racist thugs. That is enough reason to call it for what it is - GENOCIDE!
37. First Holocaust in history.
Anadelfos ,   Athens Greece   (12.31.11)
During 23 August 1938 Hitler said that nobody remembers any more, about the Armenian Holocaust. I think this speaks volumes about what is right to be done. During December 1896 3.000 Armenians in the city of Urfa Turkey, went inside the main church of this turkish city in order to save their lives. The Turks set fire to the church and everybody inside including women and children got killed. That was the first time that the term holocaust was used.
38. #20 Don't push Jews in the corner either! NEVER AGAIN!

39. To: No. 29
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.31.11)
Yours is a philosophy of pure revenge as justification. Israel has endured six wars and seven decades of terror because of the ersatz "Palestinian" terrorists. So, using your line of reasoning, Israel would be fully justified in massacring 1.5 million Arabs, right? Note we haven't done it. Neither should Turkey have massacred 1.5 million Armenians. If you lost 90,000 Turkish sons in one night, chalk some of that up to Turkish incompetence. The issue here is accountability. One and one-half million Armenians were massacred. There is NO justification for that.
40. Competing for Suffering
Mike ,   USA   (01.01.12)
I simply don't understand the need for the author to pinpoint "there is no need to view both tragedies in the exact same way, as regrettably our Shoah was much greater in scope and much more brutal." How can you compare apples with oranges? What happened in 1915 is completely different than in 1930s. Two historical events, two completely different contexts. No need to compete for who suffered more. The facts are pretty much self-explanatory.
41. To Sarah

How could you talk about Turkish incompetency, when you are even incompetent to sit next to a man? You are full of hatred, who has no life but only talkbacks. I can only feel sorry for you..
