Neither the haredi or the seculars have a right to dictate how this country is run. They are ALL citizens of this country and all entitled to live their lives according to their own culture. For the most part it has to be the secular lifestyle that is dominant but in areas where there are large haredi populations then their wishes must also be taken into account. If that means segregation on a limited number of local busses ( not national ) then so be it, as long as there is mixed busses on the same route so people have a choice then its harmless. A couple of gestures of goodwill toward the haredi and in exchange the haredi themselves will try and help crackdown on the radicals. its going to take cooperation from the wider haredi population to deal with the radicals minority. Time for representatives of haredi, municipalities & politicians from the left and right to start talking to each other and working out compromises because you can't have a country thats divided between orthodox & secular Jews. If orthodox & secular Jews can't live together in a Jewish state then there is no place in the world for a Jewish state.

the only persecution perpetrated against haredim is the demand by the public that they abide by the country's laws. they have no special status. they are not special Jews.
