He always looks at their chest or somewhere else.
2. Jordan's fear of "Jordan is Palestine" campaign
Tracy W   (01.01.12)
The "Jordan is Palestine" campaign is working - at least enough to cause enough concern to the Jordanian government that now wants to expedite Israel's partition.

5. Jordan is an invented state-identity
David s ,   Mos angeles   (01.01.12)
As moderate and open-minded king Abdulah II might be, we must face the fact that his rulership and that of his father's was a an invention of the British to expedite their inperialistic interests in the region and has nothing to do with the reality of the region neither now nor back then. Jordan's territory might actually hold the answer, if the idea be properly and realistically developed and looked into, to the palestinian issue and the overall Arab-Israeli conflict. it is incumbent on all of us to raise this issue at our every social gathering and political discussion.

Tarbouche ,   Aswan   (01.02.12)
7. Israel should have also preconditions!
Jerry G ,   Jericho NY   (01.02.12)
Israel should not start any negotiations until the palestinians agree to forgo the demand for return of all refugees, accept Israel as a Jewish state and pay compensation to all the jews who were misplaced from Arab countries. After they accept these demands, Israel can negotiate borders, water and other issues.

Much of the middle east, including Israel (the modern state, not the people or historical kingdom, mind you), is the creation of 20th century western imperialist design. Jordan is as much an arbitrary creation as Israel, both carved out of the former territory of Palestine mandate, though Jordan actually has defined, self-declared, recognized borders. Putting aside all of the politics and history, you allude to the growing "Jordan is Palestine" campaign, that would involve repatriating a bunch of Palestinians to Jordan which you claim would solve the "Arab-Israel conflict". I am so interested to see how you envision peace coming from such a plan. First off, Jordan might be mighty pissed off by the demographics of its state radically changed with millions more Palestinians forcibly introduced within its borders, something Israel itself avoids at all costs (and no, they're not the same people, do don't even start with that "they're all arab" drivel). Secondly, what on earth makes you think any other arab country would suddenly make peace with a state that forcibly relocates another people that share so many cultural similarities? That wouldn't be the end of the conflict, it would be an acceleration of it. If I'm missing something, please fill me in. Shalom and adios.

When Israelis declare that "Jordan is Palestine", they allude to the fact that Palestinian arabs have designs to take over Jordan on account of the fact they are by far the majority in Jordan. If that happens then will there be a need for an additional Palestinian state? That is their reasoning.

14. "...get real..." Indeed, let us conduct ourselves strictly
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (01.02.12)
by law, international law. Is that real enough for the poster? By international law, i.e. San Remo Conference decisions, 1920; League of Nations decisions, 1922; United Nations Charter, Article 80, "Palestine" - a territory, not a nationality or a state!! - was partitioned in 1921, 77% of which was handed over to the Arabs who, subsequently, re-named that part of the territory Jordan. The remaining 23% of "Palestine" was assigned to be "the national home for the Jewish people". That part of "Palestine", the land between the Jordan River and the Sea, has become the nation-state of the Jewish people, Israel. Thus, instead of attempting to grab more land our of Jewish hands, the Arabs - and the poster - should focus on a realistic way to achieve an accommodation of peaceful coexistence between Arab and Jew, between the Muslim-Arab world and the nation-state of the Jewish people, Israel. Isn't it time to do so...?? P.S. The way to implement the fundamentals of international law as it is related to the Arab Israeli conflict is by strictly apply UN Security Council Resolution, 242. In this context it is important to pay attention to the details: 242 does not call for the setting up of an additional state between the River and the Sea, nor does it expect the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to retreat beyond what they have already done. It is within 242 that the present state of affairs is managed in the best possible way for the benefits of all: recognizing the fact that the Jordan valley, in the widest sense of the term, is Israel's "security boundary" as called for by the resolution, and that the land between the River and the Sea is "the national home for the Jewish people" in which Jews may settle freely, so long as they maintain the "civil and religious rights of the local populations", as called for by the League of Nations decisions, 1922, and reiterated by the United Nations Charter, Article 80, 1945.

Irreconcilable differences and thermonuclear capacity not to mention biological and superconventional weaponry leave basically one option realizable play for time and do the minimal to avoid all out catastrophe.
16. NO negotiation
Brod ,   USA   (01.02.12)
Israel does not need to negotiate or talk with Erakat and his Islamist-Jihadist usurpers and occupiers. Judea and Samaria-the liberated Land of Israel belongs to the Nation of Israel since ancient time. It is GOD-GIVEN and GOD-RESTORED to the Nation of Israel as a Fulifilment of GOD'S Everlasting Covenant with the Nation of Israel. The Arab Islamist-Jihadist usurpers and occupiers can return to their historic homeland in Arabia where they originated in the 7th century. It is time the world know the Middle East conflict from Pat Condell's Youtube Commentaries entitled "The great Palestinian lie" and "Useful Idiots for Palestine."
