It's good to see that Barak thinks that the Assad regime is on it's last legs. This comes from a man who I am pretty sure informed us that Mubarak could never be forced out, not that he was the only one!
Now I am not saying that the Assad regime is here forever but do not under-estimate this man. He will go to extra-ordinary lengths to make sure he stays in power and although he is under enormous pressure from the, so called, international community he has nothing to lose and this is a very dangerous position, for a man who cares little about his people, to have Us in.
The Arab world has done next to nothing to stop the slaughter that is going on in Syria and why should they. After all most Arab countries are run by despots and dictators they also have themselves to think about.
I greatly admire what the Syrian people are trying to do,but really the only thing that is going to happen in the near future is for the body count to keep rising.
I realize that the Assad regime in some ways maintains some sort of stability in the Middle East, but also think that with him gone it will harm relations between Iran and Hamas and Hezbollah which can only be a good thing. Although I am not sure how.
A war with Israel is not out of the question. Do we really need one? Well I would not be suprised as Barak needs to do something to justify his pension. Why doesn't he just go away. The guy would be about as welcome as a fart in a space suit around here.
