32. #11 Sarah B little bit too much credit
Jared Henderson ,   Oromocto Canada   (01.03.12)
I love reading your opinions your so well informed and so well written...but I must say you have to give the US more credit, just because obama does or doesnt do this or that, not every military move is run through him...when the sh*t hits the fan id bet money North America has your backs regardless of whose in power...be smart before you speak, you usually are :)
33. #28 you might want to learn something 1st
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (01.03.12)
The entire Chinese/Russian navies would not have 1/4 the aircraft of one US carrier. As for an ABM shield - the only country with one is Israel. You really have no clue as to the military situation in the world - so shut the fuck up.
34. #31, How's the weather in Fort Yukon ?
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (01.03.12)

warm and sunny for the season !
36. To: Jared at No. 32
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.03.12)
Thank you for your kind words. Jared, under United States law, the president of the United States is the commander-in-chief of all armed forces. In theory, no one can act without the specific imprimatur of the president. Every military move, in theory -- if not in practice -- must run through the president. That's the letter of the law. To recommend otherwise would be seditious and quite illegal. Treasonous, actually. Of course, if the commander in chief has a very different agenda than that of the American people -- well, that's a question to be studied, isn't it? There is nothing in United States law that says that the president is not a traitor and above any suspicion. Obama has been flirting with impeachment in his entre presidency. I don't believe that the American people will put up with much more for much longer.
37. Fantasies of talkbackers
sipahi ,   Istanbul   (01.03.12)
Talkbackers, I admire your fantasies. You have bombed, nuked, wiped off the map Iran. You have turned them to Stone Age, you have compromised their computer and control systems with viruses, you have done many more things that I cannort imagine. Bravo. Great work done!
38. For sure, the 5th fleet did not leave due to iranians
William ,   Israel   (01.03.12)
The 5th fleet sailed out of the Persian Gulf because the message was well-understood by the Iranians. "Screw with the US and the global economy, and you will receive a strong response." While the IRG blusters, they also withdrew their threat to close the Strait of Hourmuz and the Iranians now welcome nuke talks even though its mostly theatrics.
39. #5 robert
solomon ,   bklyn   (01.03.12)
As you have undoubtedly read many times, the US and now the UN (among others) have both evidence and an excellent basis for suspicion (because of Iran's actions) that it has a nuclear weapons program. Your eyes and ears are tightly shut as always. Ah well...
40. #28 ran
solomon ,   bklyn   (01.03.12)
Closing of the straits would threaten the world's oil supplies. Stationing foreign navies in the Gulf of Mexico would threaten the US. The US would have a right to intervene In both cases.
41. #5 - have you forgotten the IAEA damning report?
William ,   Israel   (01.03.12)
42. #11 - with the following message...
William ,   Israel   (01.03.12)
"I'm sorry, we're a little hard of hearing. We need to move closer. Can you repeat that, please?" Iranians: "um....*cough*...you better....*cough*....um...."
43. #18 - and finally the US is seeing we were right all along
William ,   Israel   (01.03.12)
It was always the Iranians who were the problem and not the Iraqis. However, Israel has always supported being involved in any attack in a high-level, as opposed to the Saudis who are happy to watch others do their dirty work for them.
44. Repeat of old Peter Sellers movie
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (01.03.12)
"THE MOUSE THAT ROARED" If they would dare to attack a U.S. Navy vessel, they should start looking skyward, B-52's will be coming into view, they can film as the bomb bay doors open to release devices acknowledging the attack
45. #22 - which would clog Iranian shipping lanes
William ,   Israel   (01.03.12)
causing them to lose 80% of their revenue immediately. Not to mention the response on those island bases and Tehran itself. Iranians are brazen and a bit apocalyptic, but not stupid.
46. #23 - the US already did
William ,   Israel   (01.03.12)
That's why the Iranians backed down once the aircraft carrier appeared in the Strait, and they asked for nuke talks again. This bluster is just a cowardly bully who feels humiliated and must have the last word. Even if they get the last word, Iranian is still a humiliated bully and the best response is...just to ignore them...further humiliating them.
47. They have a drone flying over the Generals house as we speak
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (01.03.12)
We are all shaking in our boots. Iran is so oooooo Awesome. Did Iran ever consider that the President.....who will be hailed as a hero if he blasts the crap out of their country.....might just be persuaded to attack after all of Iran's rediculous statements? They aren't going to invade...they are going to destroy your infrastructure from the air.. How about the value of your currency.....????? Must be fun supporting a bunch of religious idiots!
48. 34#...It's 4 below in Anchorage.
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (01.03.12)
49. I am sure USA is shaking in its boots
Oleg   (01.03.12)
.Iran will get it , what it is begging to get ..a bloody nose ! if it will ask for more--a knockout then.
50. #6 BAJ - Name doesn't matter
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (01.03.12)
It could be a rowboat, they better not attack it
51. Freedom of the Seas. We already fought WWI for that.
Henry from New York ,   USA   (01.03.12)
What makes Iran think that this hollow threat will be heeded?
52. To: No. 37
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.03.12)
Given the backward state of the Turkish nation it may have escaped your notice, but the simple fact is that Iran is in the Stone Age. And STUXNET and DUQU -- and now TILDED -- have completely crippled their computer systems, and there is more to come. Much, much more. But since Turkey is such a backward and primitive nation, you wouldn't know the difference, would you? No wonder you cannot imagine anything. But I do agree with you in one regard: Bravo to Israel, for being the one country on the face of the earth to actually challenge and successfully impede Iran -- the greatest threat to civilization that has ever existed. Great work indeed!
53. The ideal solution to Mad Mullahs and their nukes.
Chaim ,   Israel   (01.03.12)
The ideal solution to the Mad Mullahs and their nukes in progress, would be for Western forces, including Israel, to completely cut Iran off by land, sea and air. Than bomb their nuclear facilities till they are nothing but rubble and very deep shafts of rubble. Put Iran's genocidal criminal leadership on trial Nuremburg style. Seize all the assets of the Mad Mullahs and their families, and honchos of the criminal regime, to pay for the liberation of Iran. Will this happen? Of course not. Thus it is up to Israel to stop the Mad Mullahs on her own.
54. #36. Impeachement vs. Obama should begin immediately.
Chaim ,   Israel   (01.03.12)
Many U.S. Presidents have been subject to impeachment proceedings for much less cause than Obama. Including Bill Clinton. How can you compare an extra marital affair, and a few fibs, with the incalculable damage Obama is inflicting on America and the Free Word? There is no more partisan Democrat than Bill Clinton. Yet even Clinton admitted, on several occasions, that Obama is the worst president in U.S. history. Obama's recent comment that "America has never worked..." is exactly what one would expect from America's enemies. I hope Americans are ready to impeach Obama. It's well overdue.
55. #54 chaim - correction
solomon ,   bklyn   (01.03.12)
Only two presidents (Johnson and Clinton) were brought up for impeachment. Both were acquitted. Impeachment proceedings were begun against Nixon but he resigned before they could be carried through. "2" (2-1/2? 3?) do not qualify as "many". Especially since none was actually impeached (ie found guilty).
56. Iran v USA
Hurley ,   Canada   (01.03.12)
Seriously where do I start. Iranian bluster to feed the fanatics or Obama committing Taqiyah to mislead voters? Iranian's are itching for a fight knowing they have their inside man up front and Russia and China in their back pocket. The US troops are well experienced in the art of war however a bit tired to be sure. Obama is all talk to appease and has really only kept the status quo of current sanctions in place since 79 to keep the us economy away from the 5the biggest energy producer, giving China an addicting taste of Iranian downtown brown. Obama hates jews as is obvious to anyone observing his body language. A real Daddy's boy, Obama's holding out on americans working for the american dream while holding on to hope for real, global islamic change. Iran wouldn't be a threat if the US troops had a real CIC with humility, integrity and honesty.
57. bring it
steve ,   toronto   (01.03.12)
irans got no chance, will b a good fight but no chance of victory
58. french and th eu
joel ,   usa   (01.03.12)
hinestly, without the US forces the eu forces are just not able to do its job, OK? the eu can't do anything against iran without the US initiating it, tsk, tsk, tsk?
59. #37 they got you you for sure! writing Israeli news sites?
why? you are really ,   that Scared?   (01.04.12)
60. #11
Spencer ,   Israel   (01.04.12)
She is 100% correct. Unfortunately Barak HUSSEIN Obama doesn't have the balls to confront Iran. Hopefuly he'll soon be out of office and the the USA can once again raise their hear with pride and teach Iran a lesson she will never forget....(If Israeli doen't do it first).
