1. We should definitely
Sandy ,   Petach Tikvah   (01.05.12)
We should definitely have a Penis Convention and invite only woman speakers!
2. Which Rabbis? - who organised this?
rebecca ,   Modiin   (01.05.12)
This article has very little detail. Oh yes "the Rabbis said". Well back it up. Who said which Rabbi's said. Put some names to this disgrace. Both Rabbis and organisers.
3. An insult to medicine!
Yakov ,   Tel Aviv   (01.05.12)
Rule number one in Judaism, is that health supersedes Jewish law. Therefore, excluding women, from a conference on women's health, demonstrates a failure to understand Jewish laws. Excluding anyone, from contributing to the health care of Jew's and Israeli's, is a failure to whole society. Why do we continue to support individuals, that will handicap our citizens, stymie medical progress, riot in the streets, and force arbitrary rules that benefit no one? This is NOT the work of righteousness, it is SELFISH.
4. If true - What is wrong with these people? Iran #2
(01.05.12)
5. First the buses and army now confrences
Haim ,   TA   (01.05.12)
This is how it works, first they force women to the back of buses, seperate ques at Rami Levis supermarket, then make a commotion about women singing, and now banning women from medical confrences, the ultra orthdox are trying to take us back to the dark ages.
6. At the very least...
elie ,   Tzur Hadassah   (01.05.12)
Have women lecturers and if people are uncomfortable, they can skip those sessions.
7. Is this a YNET Stunt?
Tarbouche ,   Aswan   (01.05.12)
If it is not, then Israel's Rabbinate is totally ignoring Torah teaching and its practice.
8. Try to make a baby without a
Ralph ,   Caesarea   (01.05.12)
woman. How much the state of Israel pay these rabbis to say stupid things?

Chaya ,   Tel Aviv   (01.05.12)
Do a search for PUAH and send them a message!
10. Women's issues - Men lecturers ?!?
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, israel   (01.05.12)
Women's issues restricted to lectures by men? How ridiculous can you get???
11. rami levi?
nva ,   jerusalem   (01.05.12)
there are separate ques at rami levi??? where??? in Jerusalem ?? i shop RL all the time in my neighborhood. No problem here. This whole thing is nuts.
12. They did it out of pressure from haredim
Orot parent ,   Bet Shemesh   (01.05.12)
Just google "Machon Puah" and you'll find it. You'll see that the organization is Modern Orthodox, not Haredi. You'll also see photos of women (shock horror!). Apparently, Machon Puah do have events where they invite women to speak, but for this conference they wanted haredim to attend, and the haredim wouldn't come if there were women speaking. The problem is, that tolerance for intolerance = intolerance. And they're working so hard to include the haredim that they've managed to exclude half of the population, and all those who object to this.
13. Woman would be allowed
Raul ,   Rio de Janeiro   (01.05.12)
to listen and to ask questions (how generous of them...). But no singing, God forbid!
14. The "travel girls"
Raptor   (01.05.12)

16. give me a break!
(01.05.12)
and at how many of these men's yeshiva did Nechama Labowitz lecture? In case you don't know Nechama was a very learned woman!
17. So They Shouldn't Treat Women!
Rich ,   USA   (01.05.12)
So, let them treat only men! What idiots! Send them to Iran!
18. State sponsored predudice
Haim ,   TA   (01.05.12)
The state of Israel (our tax money) is funding this so called organisation. How strange they brand any acotor who refuses to appear in the occupied terrotries a traitor while at the same time funding organisations that exclude women. Typical right-wing double standards at play.
19. Jewish Freedom
GG   (01.05.12)
Whenever Jews are supressed, they are quite doing their business. But when they have enough freedom, that's it, everything breaks out. This is result of one such thing.
20. They cannothear women sing but they can examine their vagina
Mea   (01.05.12)
21. What is coming out of Israel is comedy gold
Christ   (01.05.12)
Netanyahu has lost control, even Obama has realised this and is sending thousands of American soldiers to impose peace and the two state solution
22. I agree with #2
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (01.05.12)
The article is written in a very strange way. No one who "excluded" women is actually identified nor is there any evidence that the "exclusion" wasn't reasonable. Rather, offense is taken that no woman appears amongst the lecturers, even though most Machon Puah lectures include women. The people who condemn Machon Puah should give the name of a female gynecologist who should have be invited and wasn't. That female gynecologistshould confirm that she was available, that she had the relevant expertiese, and explain why she was a better choice then the male gynecologists.
23. PUAH Conference
NYC Girl   (01.05.12)
Frankly, if I were a patient of any of the doctors participating in this conference, I would have to consider seeking out another physician...because I could no longer feel I could trust the judgment of one who would capitulate to this misogynistic religious bullshit.
24. Do they receive public funding or is this 100% private?
Ellen ,   Israel/USA   (01.05.12)
25. According Halach only men are obliged to procreate!
Tevye ,   Chelm   (01.05.12)
Therefore it is definitely a men's issue! Of course women also want children, but they are not obliged to have according to Halacha. They rather are helping men to fulfill this Mitzva! ;-)
26. Amazing
Daniel ,   DC/TA   (01.05.12)
The rabbinate has completely lost touch with reality. Halachic separation of men and women has gone to an extreme that is without precedent in Judaism. No one with a brain in their head should attend a lecture on women's gynecological issues where leading women in the field were not invited to speak because of rabbinical tyranny.
27. IDIOTS! THEY CAN TOUCH WOMEN ANYWHERE BUT THEY CAN'T LISTEN
stude ham   (01.05.12)
boycott these idiot gynecologists... boycott idiot doctors.
28. Excluding women from conference???
Unimpressed   (01.05.12)
The virtues of profound stupidity are obviously being overlooked...shame on all the people who would even think of permitting vile creatures such as women to participate and contribute. This conference should be held in Mecca or Qoms; the religious authorities over there would certainly highly approve of such gender segregation.
29. booooosha!!!
IlanaB   (01.05.12)
30. We are becoming ridiculous in front of the nations
Yossef   (01.05.12)
It is time to stop this madness.
