1. NATO
Marty ,   Toronto Canada   (01.05.12)
If NATO vote to participate in hostilities against Iran - especially if said hostilities break out as a result of a conflict in the Strait of Hormuz between USA and Iran, Turkey will be have some serious decisions to make. Perhaps it is time to expel Turkey from NATO?
2. I wonder if the Iraqi Kurds wouldn't mind?
Henry from New York ,   USA   (01.05.12)
They're closer to the target anyway and they hate Iran last I checked.
3. #1. Déjá vu
Tom ,   USA   (01.05.12)
In 2003 NATO member Turkey refused to allow the U.S. forces across its territory into northern Iraq. We're at the dawn of major re-configuration of old alliances as far as the M.E. concern. It involves Israel as well. Turkey's hope for EU membership is done for so she will drift towards her natural Muslim friends.
4. Birds of a feather flock together
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (01.05.12)
5. Anyway you slice the cake, Iran is in for a bruising...
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (01.05.12)
what difference does it make if it comes from Turkish territory or somewhere else?
6. can tell Erdogan is best buddies with Ahmadinejad
zionist forever   (01.05.12)
The other day we had Iran threatening the US and saying they will not allow the US to send carriers in the Straits of Hormuz. Now we have Turkey they will not allow a strike on Iran. So what are they going to do if the US decides they are going to do something, we know Iran has illegally played with the friend or foe codes on their F16s so they can fire on Israeli jets are they now going to shoot down American ones? Time for the US to start asserting its authority again and put these little irrelevant countries in their place, teach them just how insignificant they are. The Turkish & Persian empires are gone and will not be reborn under Erdogan or Ahmadinejad. Its also time to kick Turkey out ot NATO and for the EU to make an official statement that Turkey will not be given membership unless they stop making threats, get out of Cyprus & Kurdistan and apologize for the Armenian massacre.
7. NATO?
afsin ,   antalya   (01.05.12)

8. NATO & Turkey
Abu Yussef al Yahudi ,   Bue_Aires_Argentina   (01.05.12)
IMHO, it´s time RIGHT NOW to EXPEL the Turkish traitors from the NATO. They betrayed their loyalty to the free countries of the world, and to the Western Moral Values - This is a typical behaviour of a large percentage of the Muslim People, their Genetic Trend is to NOT COMPLY with the Treaties or Promises, for them all of that stuff is a matter of "Taqyah" (Deception), as was written by their False Prophet - Despite the fact that Turkey is not an Arabic Country, they are infected with the same dangerous sickness as the Arabs: THE ISLAM, - - And unfortunately this disease has not cure - - The worst fact is that this serious malady has attacked a large part of the African and Asian Countries, and right now is trying to infect all of the European Countries, and extending their tentacles to South America too.
9. Turkey is for some time . . .
AlbertoGA ,   St. George, USA   (01.05.12)
A country that promote terrorism, friend of them also. See who is visiting them. and the big smiles from the Gov. of Turkey. This place has no future in the EU, Nato as a start.
10. Believing Turkey
(01.05.12)
"We won't allow a strike on any neighbor from our territory" says Davetoglu. Well I guess that was a message for Assad and the whole world as well as Ahmadinejad, then. Even as the foreign minister was speaking, the Turkish based al Qaeda-led Syrian liberation forces were packing up and heading for Iraq. And the Turkish miltary were issuing a standing order not to attack Kurdish targets across their borders. And the Turkish navy was heading away from the Cyprus gas fields. Or not.

14. I wonder what Obama has to say about it
Shaul R   (01.05.12)
According to Obama, the radar was installed specifically to monitor Iran. Now his best friend Turkey states emphatically that it will not be used for that purpose. That, and Turkey's refusal to share radar data with other components of the system (Israel) should give Obama a reason to pause an reevaluate the alliance (hopefully).

cumhur ,   cleveland, usa   (01.05.12)
Turkey only wants peace and stability in the region. Why couldnt we have a peaceful, economically well-off region, cooperating and trading and living in better standards? WHY? This is the question that Turks are wanting an answer to. And most of the thinking has to come from our Israeli friends...

25. Thank G-D for that; else Turks may confuse
Tambour ,   Eilat   (01.05.12)

26. Turkey has a point!
Kemalist-Turk ,   Istanbul   (01.05.12)
Well, Turkey has a point. Why should Turkey risk public safety for someone elses agenda? Turkey is already suffering with Terrorism on home turf for some time now so why should she get caught up in some other charade?? There is always Northern Iraq. Afterall Barzani is the 'main man' atm, right? I am sure he would do the honours. Anything to get a pat on the back LOL! Also Turkey would do the same for Israel believe it or not! It is absolute madness to be used as a vessel to spark conflict in your own region.
