31. Turkish words
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (01.05.12)
Just a few months ago Mr. Davutoglu and PM Erdogan had promised that Turkey would not allow a strike against Libya but then they were the first to strike Libya.
32. The only thing that drives Turkish policy
Yosi   (01.05.12)
is being anti Israel. Some Turks even dared to blame Mossad for the killing of 35 innocent Turks. Well they wont allow strike on Iran, but they allow strike on their own civilians, ''mistakenly''

David Israel ,   New York, USA   (01.05.12)
Israelis have always wanted to have a peaceful ME where all neighbors prosper together. In fact in Israel the Arab population is doing pretty well, much better then their brethren n the West Bank and Gaza even Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon. Unfortunately the problem s with Iran threatening to wipe out Israel from the map and building military capabilities to do it. You would be more productive if you could preach your message to the Iranians.
34. Don't need or trust Turkey, they refused US access for Iraq
PETER SM ,   AUSTRALIA   (01.05.12)
Remember the last time,in 1988 ,when Iran mined the Gulf and damaged a US Ship President Regan decimated the Iranian Navy. The Mullahs got the message.
35. To Kemalist Turk from a Kemalist Jew
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (01.05.12)
It is to avoid an Israeli and USA alliance with Barzani that Turkey must be on the side of USA and Israel even if it means some hardship because some hardship is better then loosing the sovereignty over entire Turkey as it is today. Unfortunately diplomacy is not very simple and sometimes you have to sleep in one bed with a bear (as Ismet Inonu described it) to get the best out of a difficult situation. Ismet Pasa knew what he was doing but these AKP clowns only know to talk the Kasimpasha posturing but when it comes to execution they do the opposite as they did n Libya.

38. A TURKISH DECISION(ON THE CONTINENT OF ASIA.).
A WONDER(SJOERD R.). ,   MULTIVERSE   (01.05.12)
IN PRINCIPLE IN THAT CASE WHAT THE TURKISH PARLIAMENT AND GOVERNMENT HAVE DECIDED, EVERY COUNTRY/PEOPLE COULD HAVE DONE THE SAME. AN INSTITUTION AS THE ENTIRE UNITED NATIONS ORGANIZATION/MANKIND COULD BE CONSULTED (SINCE 1945.).
39. Here goes the last reason for not kicking Turkey out of NATO
(01.05.12)
The current Turkish government is clinically stupid. Pity so many sane Turks must live under that terror! There are two options: either an internal civil war or military revolution, or a mass exodus of secular and non-Muslim Turkish citizens, to the West. Erdogan and his cronies are transforming Turkey into Lebanon #2
40. #26 and 30.
Henry from New York ,   USA   (01.06.12)
It was one of those obvious thoughts that you never think about for me, but Sarah is absolutely right. If they don't want to such things then they should not be part of a military alliance like NATO (though NATO is a defensive alliance). Being part of an alliance means that you agree to put yourself at risk for someone else. Turkey doesn't need to fear the red menace anymore and so they don't really gain as much by sticking around if they don't consider the Iranians a threat.
41. #38, the UN exists as a place to blow off steam and complain
Henry from New York ,   USA   (01.06.12)
Nothing more.

43. To David Israel
Kemalist-Turk ,   Istanbul   (01.06.12)
So am I wrong in thinking that Barzani is some how connected with the US? This is not about taking sides but about insanity being ceased. Do you know what would happen to our country and our region if Iran was to be striked? WW3 will emerge!!! and for what? For the advancement of politicians? Turkey has seen enough bloodshed what with the PKK terrorism and the prolonged battle against internal anarchy/civil war. And Yes AKP is made up of clowns and they will become more clown-like if they decide to allow their soil to be used as an international political playground for global conflict.
44. NOBODY needs the Turks...SHOVE it !!!!
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (01.06.12)

46. To: No.30
Kemalist- Turk ,   Istanbul   (01.06.12)
Then what? So lets say Turkey leaves or is forced out of NATO. What do you think will happen? What do you think Russia and China would do in such a situation? Turkey leaving NATO would not accomplish anything for any country thinking about striking Iran. It would only make matters worse.
47. TURKEY IS THE BIGGEST SUPPORTER OF ISLAMIC TERROR
American ,   Los Angeles   (01.06.12)
in the ME today and openly trying to provoce Israel by supporting her enemies.Turks should know that after Iran will come their turn. There is a price for every stupid decision they take.

49. Kemalist dostum
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (01.06.12)
I am 62 years old. I still remember when under USA request Barzani's late father was given health care in Turkey. It was just after 1960 revolution and before Demirel was elected (if I am not wrong) which means it was either the last CHP rule or the Milli Birlik Komitesi ruling. So you are correct Barzani is connected with US as well as Turkey believe it or not. Just count how many times Barzani or his people had officials visits to Turkey last year. Nobody wants WW3 but Iran has been preparing for it and inciting the world not the other way around. As I mentioned before you mus tpreach Iran not tiny Israel.
50. israel is still a sovereign country
tom ,   toronto, canada   (01.06.12)
the last time i checked, israel was a sovereign country, and didn't need or want turkey's (or america's) permission to "take care of business". israeli jets managed to reach a certain syrian military installation, described as a "nuclear reactor" by the syrian ambassador, without using turkish soil, and i would guess that a raid on iran could be accomplished similarly. these declarations are just chest-beating, to score cheap points with the iranians and the other islamists.
51. Israel
Debbie ,   Scranton pa   (01.06.12)
We must stand behind israel .the iranians will attack israel them on to the usa
52. Who needs to fly over Turkey???

53. Israel attack Iran?
Matt ,   Canada   (01.06.12)
With what exactly? Why has it taken so damn long? Why have you not attacked them yet? What is the hold up? Perhaps, the hold up is ISRAEL DOES NOT POSSES THE MILITARY POWER TO SUCESSFULLY STRIKE IRAN ON ITS OWN. You poor slob
54. #47 Turkey isn't the biggest supporter
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (01.06.12)
Saudi Arabia is the biggest, using their oil money to do it Second would be Iran, which supports Hamas & Muslim Brotherhood
55. #53 Matt - Canada
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (01.06.12)
Your memory fails you Osirik reactor in Iraq was wiped off the map by Israel, as was the one in Syria Only a fool of your ilk would think that it would be a ground attack, it will be from the air just as the ,aforementioned were You're the fool, out of touch with history & reality
