31. We are all in one room regardless who throws more granades
Sal ,   Israel/ USA   (01.07.12)
No justice No peace. Israel can be two of the following three but not all three 1)Greater Israel 2)Democratic Israel 3)Jewish Israel. Occupying the West Bank, dispossessing the Palestinians, collectively squashing their lives to to induce them to leave is ethnic cleansing that betrays Israel's claim of civilized society; using "Religion" to settle Palestinian land and to exclude them continues the vicious escalating circle of religious extermism by all sides of the conflict, for which regular civilized people on all sides would suffer the violence and insanity of the relgious extermists and lose their liberty and rights to the extreme fringe along with the physical and time space needed for compromise and resolution of this intra-semitic war.
32. Plain and simple
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (01.07.12)
The Arabs believe in G-D. We have the Tora that contains the contract stating that G-D gave the land of Israel to the Jewish people. If we settle for less,be sure nobody will rise our price. The fate of this country depends on our clear vision to know what we stand for. Deal with it.
33. Epic fail
Danny ,   NYC, US   (01.07.12)
Mr. Bennett, the bible is not relevant for deciding on political issues in the 21st century.
34. Not enough
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (01.07.12)
Not enough to declare, that the land of Israel belongs to the jewish people, but must punish everybody, who dares to negate it.
35. 33 Have you an idea,how many...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (01.07.12)
people still believe in the bible nowadays?
36. WAS Jewish land
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (01.07.12)
The Holy Land WAS indeed Jewish land at one time, the Promised Land as described in the Old Testament. But the Jews frittered away God's blessings through their stiff-necked sinfulness and many other transgressions, denied the One sent to save them, and thus lost sovereignty over their land for all time as of 135 AD. It has not been their land since then, and they are their as intruders.
37. Christianity
atheist   (01.07.12)
Christianity is dying out everywhere except in the USA. In USA politicians have to pretend to be believers in order to get elected. Only lower educated people tend to be believers. Compare politicians with other high achievers ... nobody else at the top puts on this farce of being a believer. Its a lower class superstition for the simple-mided. The trend towards secularism is same with educated Muslims. Increasingly the people that matter in society regard the Bible as irrelevent nonsense. To make appeals to the Bible in such a situation is to invite ridicule and incredulous disbelief from the audience. As to believers, some are Zionists but others believe that Jews lost all promises from God when they rejected Jesus. On top of that, most of the world is not even nominally Christian.
38. once a year ynet allows a normal person
Parnawo   (01.07.12)
to share their opinion, that time must have come once again. now we resume our regular leftie-looney insanity.
39. History ownership and bible
Yoni ,   Jewish homeland   (01.07.12)
Israel has always been our homeland. We bought it with our money and blood. We won it through warfare and we were promised it by God. Whether anyone likes it or not it is our destiny to be here and we are not going anywhere. The bible is factual history and is the best preserved most accurate account of our ancestry. The big problem is when other Jews deny their own history and are ignorant of their own identity.
40. Present the poof and annex Judea and Samaria..
Chaim ,   Israel   (01.07.12)
We have incontrovertible proof, from countless international law scholars, that Judea and Samaria legally belong to Israel. So why do we still play games? Why do we pretend we want to cede our 3,500 year old heartland to "Palestinian" poseurs who want us dead? Serve the U.N., all world governments and world media and NGOs with proof. Than let's do what we should have done back in 1967. Annex Judea and Samaria.
41. Israel and the Bible
Gila ,   Beit Shemesh, Israel   (01.08.12)
Frankly it doen't matter how many people believe or don't believe in the Bible; it doesn't make it any less true. Ditto for believing in G-d: He still believes in all of us. The Bible not only clearly states that the land of Israel was given to the Jewish people, but is full of historical detail about it. It also contains various prophecies about the return of the Jewish people to their land, making it bloom once more, which has and is continuing to happen. (NB the Quran doesn't mention Jerusalem even once, and also states that Israel belongs to the Jews (see 5:20-21 and 17:104). Accordingly any Muslim seeking to dispute the right of the Jewish people to their land of Israel is actually going against what it says in his holy book.) Obviously it would be better if as Jews we actually stood up and made it clear that the whole of Israel is ours, and that the Bible clearly states this. However, I fear that we will only come to the place where we do stand together in this when we are forced to do so by those who seek to destroy us; but fortunately for us, ultimately no-one can win a fight against Hashem: He has already made it abundantly clear to whom the land of Israel belongs.
42. You better believe it. 4000 years and going strong. Amen
Hippocrates ,   Earth   (01.07.12)
v'amen!
43. ""LAND/ERETZ/STATE/MEDINAT'' OF ''ISRAEL'' ON THE ASIAN CONT
A WONDER(SJOERD R.). ,   MULTIVERSE   (01.08.12)
CONTINENT. FOR EXAMPLE ALSO ''ISRAEL'' IS A STATE/LAND/COUNTRY FOR THE PALESTINIAN, BEDOUIN PEOPLE AND SO ON.
44. because it’s primitive?
Moshe ,   USA   (01.08.12)
Excuse me, but who in the hell do you think the Israelis are dealing with-a bunch of primitives who want nothing more than a second Jewish bloodbath. It used to be that arabs feared the Jews, now it's the Jews who cower in front of the arabs. Something is dreadfully wrong here.
45. To # 14 : In Your Dreams & Imaginations
Abdel Karim Salim ,   Jerusalem   (01.08.12)
While you sound curt, impertinent , & menacing I'll do my best to be as reasonable & civil as possible with you . The United Nations & its UNRWA already recognize me as Palestinian. So does Jordan since 1988 . So does Israel since 1993 when Israel finally recognized the Palestinian identity . And while I have the choice between the Palestinian passport of the West Bank ( under Palestinian Authority rule ) & the Israeli, blue Jerusalem ID card I surely prefer to hold on to my hometown Jerusalem even if Jerusalem were under the rule of Satan or the devils themselves . Why should I make of myself a persecuted & unwelcome fugitive elsewhere ? You may say what you want about Palestinians but I bet you already know the international community , including the USA without whose support Israel could never survive , already recognize the Palestinian people & Palestinian identity . Normally I like to deal with any Jews & Israelis that make sense when they talk to me but I realize sometimes I have to face non-sensible fanatics & radicals from both sides, Arab & Israeli ... !
46. To # 24 BEN JABO
Abdel Karim Salim ,   Jerusalem   (01.08.12)
First of all according to me none of those so-called "holy books" mean anything to me nowadays ; I was born and raised a moslem, but these days I am a non-believer . Secondly , who says any of those "holy books" (if they were indeed holy ) should be the criterium to decide whose land is this ? Thirdly, to me it should suffice that I was born here , and I have lived here , in this land , all my life ( just like my parents did ) . Hence my attachment to this land and my affiliation with it . Fourthly, what kind of " ridiculous " logic are you using here? My being born here does not mean this is my land while your being born in Europe or America or Russia means this is your land ??? How funny and ridiculous it is to me ! Fifthly , when it comes to common sense and sound logic you, Jews, have no choice - just like Arabs - but to coexist with us, Palestinian arabs . The Israeli-Arab conflict since 1948 has convinced both sides to accept each other. The entire international community without exception generally and basically agrees with this . You can not fly in the face of the truth . Lastly, I still have valid documents of my legitimate attachment to this land dating back to the time of the British Mandate over Palestine ... !
47. Waited for it
Sebastian E. ,   Passau, Germany   (01.08.12)
Yes, I have waited for this article for a long time. God has promised this land to Israel and He is faithful to His promises.
48. PR?
Sean ,   Montreal, Quebec   (01.08.12)
A thief is a thief..regardless of the marketing!
49. #39 and 41, it's partly factual. The first two books are not
Henry from New York ,   USA   (01.08.12)
supported by the evidence, but as I said earlier, the later books are. The closer you get to the time of Josiah, the closer the evidence matches the Bible (that's about the time we find the oldest Biblical passages - specifically the "Silver Scroll", which had Deuteronomy written on it). After his reign, the evidence matches up almost perfectly. Our current evidence also points to a Canaanite origin for our people (as opposed to that whole story about Abraham and then the story of Exodus), and so we've been in the Land of Israel longer than there are records.
50. Amoz Oz needs to go back to school
Joe ,   Toronto, Canada   (01.08.12)
What a self-hating Jew. So sad.
51. ISRAEL ANSWERS TO HIGHER AUTHORITY!
David ,   USA   (01.08.12)
Israel is Jewish land, including most of Jordan. It was given to the Jewish people by the UN since 1920 in San Remo, with 51 countries voting in favor. There is no such thing as Palestinian. It is an invented word that has "zero" meaning. Mohammad never mentions Jerusalem. He clearly states this is Jewish land. Furthermore, the Jews had continuous presence in the Holy Land. The Arab refugees entered the are in the early 1900's ,running away from their evil rulers, just like they are doing today. They are sneaking in from Darfur, etc. That makes all these Arabs simply "occupiers."
52. #16 Say it like Shamir
Norbus ,   Jerusalem   (01.08.12)
Sir Martin Gilbert's In Ishmael's House , & Dore Gold's Hatred's Kingdom teach us why we must never let go of ALL our land rights to Eretz Yisrael We have been playing to a deluded international audience brainwashed with hatred against Jews using an invention of redefined arabs as palestinians to complete the job Hitler started Sooner they believe we are going nowhere else out of our lands the sooner they will stop baying as rabid dogs to evict us out of our Land.
53. Big Israel = ONLY historically JUST and PRACTICAL option.
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (01.08.12)
54. #36, the same scripture you use as a basis for your argument
Jake ,   USA   (01.08.12)
....states that the Jews will return. Do you not know this?
55. 36
Ann   (01.08.12)
God is not like you or other people. He does not break promises. His faithfullness is not dependent on us,or what we do. He promised the land of Israel to the Jews, and it is theirs regardless of what you and other antisemites like you think, and that land will be theirs forever.
56. The Torah actually says ...
Mark ,   Detroit   (01.08.12)
The Torah says that the land will be ours as long as we observe the mitzvot. Since the majority of Israelis are secular, I can't understand your basis for deciding that the entire land is supposed to revert to our control. G-d stated clearly in the Torah that a Jewish nation who does not observe the Mitzvot will be exiled. Read the Torah completely and stop misrepresenting what is says.
57. You do not have.....
aline silverman ,   Israel   (01.08.12)
,,,,to believe in God to believe in the bible....Thanks to this great book there have been amazing archeological finds ALL TESTIFYING of our presence in this land. What more is that some Jews never left Israel and there was a Jewish presence all through history in the land of Israel...The fact that Arab invaders came to conquer it doesn't make it theirs...I understand the feeling of Arabs who were born here and want to remain here....Nobody asks them to leave...However they also have to understand Me and my brethren who consider Israel as their land. For thousands of years we have been praying for the return to our land...We have come back and we have made it prosper when before in the hands of the Arabs and various occupants there was nothing but DESOLATION!( re: Mark Twain, Napoleon...)...Most of us agree to hand in part of our land to get peace but ONLY for this reason...NO real peace, no agreement...This tiny country in the ME is the only relative sane place in the area and we won't let it go! Before 67 Judea and Samaria were in the hands of Jordan...A made up country ,,,made up by the European colonialists...However even Jordanians do not want it...because of the trouble the " Palestinians" caused...the same as they caused in Lebanon...The Egyptians do not want Gaza either...Having said that ,we have withdrawn out of Gaza, most of the west bank is in the hands of Arabs. If they stopped fighting us and cared more about their people there would be peace in the area...So my Arab cousins, start working at it...at peace...Choose better leaders! Accept us here beacause WE ARE HERE TO STAY!
58. My advice to the Palestinians
Cynic #2   (01.08.12)
Convert back to Judaism and you'll have the right of return instantly!
59. To nr 48.
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (01.08.12)
