31. Ron Paul Anti-Semite??? Naaa!
Yoni ,   Shomron   (01.09.12)
Unfortunately, millions of Americans think like Ron Paul, and want to see him as President. Although he's got about as much of a chance of becoming President as Yossi Sarid has of becoming a rabbi, nevertheless, this should be a wake-up sign for American Jews: COME HOME TO ISRAEL FAST!
32. Ron Paul & Thomas Friedman blame Israel first
DavidM ,   USA   (01.09.12)
Ron Paul's knowledge of the middle east must come from reading Thomas Friedman's columns in the New York Times. Mr. Friedman has infamously accused Israel of buying Congress and anti-Israel groups happily quote Thomas Friedman. Like Thomas Friedman, Mr. Paul never mentions the Saudi lobby or any other lobbying group. This double standard must be exposed.
33. #16, Sharon:
Jenny ,   Boston US   (01.09.12)
Didn't I see him in a movie with Sasha Cohen, as one of his persona's? Didn't he try to seduce him, or something? I wonder how "wise" that was..... Jenny
34. He fails to mention that Israel had less than 600,000
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (01.09.12)
thousand Arabs back in the 1940's. The population and problems that Gaza has as of today.....was brought on.... because of an explosion in the birth rate in the Gaza Strip. If China were to suddenly have a massive population explosion over a short period of time........would it be Israels responsibility to let them have its land too? Would Israel be blamed for the people being stuffed into cities like rats because of overpopulation??? Needless to say...Ron Paul says the land is the Palestinians land. He fails to mention it was stolen from the Jews by the Palestinians ancestors...as well as Europeans....Persians...and so forth and so on. I'm waiting for some American Indians to overpopulate their reservations...and demand that Ron Paul move back to Europe...and give them their land back. Ron Paul ...makes Obama look tame...when it comes to a policy of pacifism. That's why he is pulling the numbers that he is getting. The Democrats ran on an anti war platform with Obama. Paul is even more extreme than Obama on the subject.
35. Why Iran?
Kim   (01.09.12)
There is a very telling question that has not been asked. As avowed enemies of the US, why on earth is the man even bothering with Iranian state television.
36. To all commentators
Harold ,   USA   (01.09.12)
Dr. Ron Paul is absolutely right. He is an honest person and I wish him good luck. The US must stop interfering in the Middle East and this problem mustg be solved by the United Nations.
37. Americans agree with Paul, Israel BIG problem 4 US
Rayan ,   Ohio, USA   (01.09.12)
Paul's ideas will be major issues in future elections as US Jewish-controlled media can no longer hide the costs & problems that US faces in mideast because of Israel and Jewish lobby in Washington. The they "hate us" crap doesn't work anymore.
38. Ron Paul is not relevant.
Henry from New York ,   USA   (01.09.12)
He just makes funny statements now and then that do not appear to have anything to do with reality or rational thinking. In the impossible event that he became president, our nation would lose its status as a "hyperpower" in no time.
39. REVERSAL psychology at work on all levels, from all angles.
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (01.09.12)
40. As an ardent supportor of Israel, I support Ron Paul 100%
Jake ,   USA   (01.09.12)
The Middle East a lot less safer with the U.S. playing the role of police man. U.S. troops will never be tolerated in Arab countries, as they are in Germany & Japan. The Arabs are too proud. Ron Paul wants the U.S. to pull out of all conflicts in the Middle East, to stop sending 2.8 billion to Israel annually AND over 4 billion to Egypt, Jordan and the PA annually. Israel is suffering from U.S. imperialism in the ME, as much as the Arabs are suffering.
41. #9 - yep and so people know not to vote for him. #11 -
Henry from New York ,   USA   (01.09.12)
The real question is who, other than the fringe groups, likes Ron Paul?
42. #37 Rayan
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (01.09.12)
Jews are 2% of the American Population, hardly in a position to be in control of the other 98% that aren't Jewish In your mind (LOL) 6,000,000 are controlling the other 304,000,000, which is hardly likely I'll give you the opportunity to prove Jewish Control All you have to do is name 10 MAJOR American Corporations that are controlled by JEWS, along with 10 MAJOR American Banks, with proof that they are, including names of their Board Chairmen While you're at it, name the news media that you claim are Jewish owned & controlled BTW- Contrary to your false claim, 63% of American's are on Israel's side, according to the latest Gallup Poll Not to worry, your idol, Dr. Paul has the chance of a snowball in hell of getting elected Don't forget to return with the names
43. One small correction, David at 18.
Vlad   (01.09.12)
India would be much more trustworthy as an ally and less likely as an ally. Also, China's economic growth won't last forever, and sooner or later, a readjustment will have to occur. No economy has ever kept growing astronomically indefinetely in human history. India is the better bet.
44. #36 Harold -
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (01.09.12)
Paul may be honest, I am not saying he is, however, he is an Isolationist who believes in Fortress America, which proved t be an impossible after the start of World War 2 The UN can't solve anything, it has proven itself to be incompetent, it's controlled by a pro-Muslim faction, which is far from impartial UN had the IAEA, which proved a total failure when it came to detecting Iranian nuclear activity, Darfur, another flop Go, vote for Ron Paul, he's a nother loser like yourself
45. #40 Jake - You forgot some other $$$
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (01.09.12)
The hundreds of billions that the U.S. is paying to the Arabs for the oil they're supplying at extortionate prices There is more to war than guns & bullets, oil is a major weapon, costiing far more than the picayune amounts you mentioned, by at least one hundred fold Ron Paul is most certainly no friend, neither are you as you pretend to be
46. Paul reminds me of a Peter Sellers movie
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (01.09.12)
"The Mouse that roared" Lots of noise no substance A handful will back him, the rational people will go elsewhere If politics were a bakery, he would be the nutcake
47. #46 BEN JABO
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (01.09.12)
I just saw that movie for the first time a few weeks ago. You probably won't be surprised when I tell you my favorite Peter Sellers movie is "Dr. Strangelove"
48. Harold #36
Vlad   (01.09.12)
You're right that the US should stop its involvement in the ME, but SCREW the UN. Israel will impose its own solution!
49. #45, you are not a true Zionist if you support aid to Israel
Jake ,   USA   (01.09.12)
Zionism means sovereignty, and most importantly, INDEPENDENCE for the Jewish people. U.S. aid is used as a mechanism to pressure and ultimately control the recipient, turning (in this case Israel) into a client of the U.S. empire. I have no doubt that the IDF would soundly defeat Iran if a war broke out. The problem is that the U.S. controls when the war starts, how long it lasts, and the terms & conditions of a cease fire. U.S. control over Israel is a bigger threat than Iran. P.S. I am a Libertarian American Jew. My anti-imperialist views, and my pro-Israel views are mutually exclusive.
50. #29 Harmen
Yoseph ,   USA/Israel   (01.09.12)
Are you still holding your breath? Just wondering.
51. #5 You are absolutely right!
A ,   Belgium   (01.09.12)
But first they should stop sending any and all aid...handouts, actually... to the "palestinians", who offer absolutely nothing in return to the US except lies, deciept and terror, and to Oblablas new buddies, the Moslem Brotherhood in Egypt, which is the second largest reciever of US aid. Get rid of those 2 parasites, and you get rid of more than "50% of USA problems".
52. Thanks for speaking the Truth, Dr. Paul!
wsjiii ,   Cordova, TN USA   (01.09.12)
Gaza a concentration camp? Talk about stating the obvious.

1. The "welfare" of which you speak is spent mostly in the US, providing jobs. Israel also supports the US by sharing improvements they make to US equipment, training US troops in close-in urban combat and providing intelligence from the ME that we Americans find it difficult to obtain. They also develop electronics and medications that benefit the US and the rest of the world. This is a two way street.

solomon ,   bklyn   (01.09.12)
3. All this would be moot if the arabs would simply stop shooting rockets, mortars, etc and accept Israel (which Hamas, Hezbollah and the PLO [by avoiding negotiation when it gets close to solution] have stated and shown they refuse to do. Israel withdrew from Gaza and South Lebanon, remember? They tore apart the industry left them in Gaza. They answered Israel with terrorism, murder, blowing up buses, rockets, mortars...and are still doing it. 4. But all the above means nothing to those with eyes and ears tightly shut.
55. #49 Jake, USA has supported many
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (01.09.12)
countries with its aid & manpower, before and during assorted wars and disasters U.S. didn't control when Israel destroyed tihe Iraqi & Syrian nuclear sites If and when Israel decides to strike Iran, it won't wait for the approval of the USA, because Obama procrastinates for too long a period of time..By the time he's finished his golf or basketball games & vacations, the war will be a distant memory I do however, like your theorizing from the remote and safe USA, what we have is your divine inspiration sans perspiration
56. #52 wsjlll - You both forgot to mention
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (01.09.12)
That the Gazan's built it all by themselves and by their own actions against Israel
57. Ron Paul
D Elliott ,   DesMoines, IOWA   (01.10.12)
I'm sorry but Ron Paul Absolutely said in a Debate and I heard it with my own ears that he thought Iran should have the Nuke , that it would level the playing field. He absolutely is anti-Jew. this is one craze old lunatic.. The Angry chicken. This guy is a menace to the world.

2. The U.S. spends vastly more to protect the security of its other allies than it spends on Israel. This aid to other allies is in the U.S. defense budget, not in the foreign aid budget (as is aid to Israel), because U.S. troops are deployed in or near their countries. It grants roughly the same amount of money to Israel each year as it spends for troops to protect South Korea. But none of the money spent by the US in South Korea or any other country comes back to the US. Except from Israel. Most of the aid in other countries is to support our troops: food, housing, etc. Most of the aid to Israel is in US built equipment.
59. Jake #49, unfortunately there is still no answer to yours

solomon ,   bklyn   (01.10.12)
Zionism means sovereignty and independence; correct. But no country can exist in a vacuum, not even Israel. The US has supplied Israel with political support and war materiel, including ammunition that during the Yom Kippur War had to be sent directly from delivery to the field. There are political considerations in everything, HOWEVER Israel must know when it should put those aside and act on its own behalf. Israel has done this before. If it doesn't do it now it is a combination of circumstances PLUS the present Israeli government's inability to make that decision. All countries are faced with this dilemma when dealing with allies as no two countries can see a situation the exact same way. Neither can most people.
