2. Sick to my stomach
Amiry ,   England   (01.11.12)
As a former paratrooper this story makes me feel sick that people like this are serving in kravi ! How can he say the things that he said when 60 years agos it was the Jewish people being "sent to the sky" for real by hitlers terrible nazi regime this kid needs to think before he opens his mouth with such hateful remarks that he is being brainwashed to say !
3. Mr. Zoaretz seems like a very sweet and loving young man
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (01.11.12)
with an impeccable character of course.
4. Not many comments because -
illbot ,   nyc, usa   (01.11.12)
because uh oh - they're knocking on my door. Must erase the Tach symbol from my desktop.
5. It's not just him
Pinhas Bayit ,   Bet HaKerem   (01.11.12)
It's those who inculcated him with this hatred - his NCOs, his officers, his friends, his family, his parents, his neighbourhood, his school, his government, his people - Us!
6. "And Ya'akov (Jacob) called to his sons,
Kristine   (01.11.12)
and he said, 'Gather together and I will tell you what will befall you in the end of days' " (when the Jewish people will be redeemed from galus, exile) (Genesis 49:1). What did Ya'akov mean when he used the phrase "Gather together"? When Ya'akov told his sons to gather together he meant that they should have achdus, unity amongst themselves. Only when there is unity among the descendants of Ya'akov can there be redemption. If there is not yet unity, it is not yet time for redemption..." (Rabbi Zelig Pliskin). Facing the threat of Iran -- that would be devastating.
7. hillul HaShem
ScottB ,   Boston, USA   (01.11.12)
This soldier is a disgrace to his uniform, to his country, and to its many supports. He does more damage to Israel and the Jewish people than the Arabs he rails against. If the charges are proven, he deserves a long term of imprisonment.
8. Ynet feeds the beast of hatred 24/7
Al   (01.11.12)
What do you expect? Israel today is at a crossroads. The Jews in Israel do not feel safe. The Arabs and others are in efect taking over. Jews are threatened on the job by their fellow Arab workers..that is a fact. Your government spends more time chasing Jews in Judea Samaria than in protecting them. YOu want to be PC to the point that you deny your own Jewish heritage. Do yourself a favour, put yourself out of your misery. Roll up the sidewalks and call it a day. Go to where ever the hell you want to go. Become goyim and fade away. The modern state is bringing untold misery to real Jews both in Israel and of course here in the golus. I cant tell you how many times I am confronted by goyim who despise us Jews, not only bacause they always have but they despise us even more today because of an Israel that wants to be like the goyim. The goy doesnt want the Jew to be a goy. He wants him to stay a Jew so he can beat up on him. I am far from religious. I am saying this as a father who has sons in Israel trying to live a Jewish life.

10. Note to all right wingers

Don't use facebook.
11. Give the guy a medal
Kol ha kavod ,   Israel   (01.11.12)
Great patriot of Israel and freedom fighter
12. Freedom of speech
pilpel ,   Oslo, Norway   (01.11.12)
He's excercising his right of freedom of speech. Is it illegal to write crap on your facebook now? In Norway we don't have freedom of speech: we're only allowed to say what everyone else (and the labours party) agrees with.
13. How dares he???
Dan the Jafa ,   Auckland, NZ   (01.12.12)
It is about time Israelis learn that freedom of speech only applies to left-wing.
14. Gee, I wonder why...?
Ed Ford ,   Tel Aviv   (01.12.12)
The Arabs are only killing Jews every chance they get, teaching their kids that Jews are monkeys, and trying to steal the land from under our feet. So, gee, I wonder why this fellow does not want Arabs and their leftist enablers around?
15. I would tell him not to incite civilians,...
Ezra ,   Sandiego USA   (01.12.12)
but for everything else, he's within his rights to express himself. Put it this way, he's a soldier, not a politician. If he prays to HaShem, he is doing the right action. If he worships his ego, he's headed into chaos. He should know that.
16. His mentality is the exception. To Pals it is the rule
Scott ,   QLD Australia   (01.12.12)
You have a whole community of nutjobs like this guy that call themselves "balestinians". They find one extremist Jew and there's a big media show about him...Israel and Jew-haters then climb aboard... "of course...all Jews are like this..."
17. proliferation of hatred
Michael ,   Haifa   (01.12.12)
In the past couple of years public discourse in Israel from speeches of "opinionmakers" from the political to the religious to the talkbackists is characterized by unadulterated mutual hatred towards one another. Dysfunctional societies have low survival expectancies
18. I feel the same way.
tejas ,   India   (01.12.12)
Today they removed the star of david from ambulance tomorrow they will remove it from the flag. But there are some tips for this soldier. In this politically correct world it doesn't matter what you do, what really matters is what you say.
19. @12 freedom of speech..
Esther ,   Amsterdam   (01.12.12)
..ends where calling for voilence begins.
20. wow
niki ,   Chicago usa   (01.12.12)

Jonathan ,   MN/US   (01.12.12)
Its illegal to write stuff on facebook with the intent to incite GENOCIDE If thats what you mean
22. Haha
Jewish Patriot ,   Galut   (01.12.12)
Haha I have mutual friend with this guy...seriously, he just wrote those things and most of us would probably agree, cause I really get sick and upset when I see terror attacks for example when the Fogel family was massacred. He got angry, and wrote this things, cause he sees his beloved Israel suffering. I would not condemn him because of his views, but if he transferred informations to rioters, that is a separate issue. And when I heard about the 0xOmar bastard, I felt the same what this IDFer wrote on his FB...it is just anger. I'M sure he would not kill "leftists" or arab children etc.
23. Israel is a democratic country that abides...
Kristine   (01.12.12)
by the rule of law. The law states that homes and businesses require building permits. Any structure without issuance of proper building permits is considered illegal and at risk of being removed. On the other hand. The matter of building in Judea, Samaria and East Jerusalem is a highly politically charged issue. Jewish Babies Threaten the 'Peace Process': Secretary of State Clinton stated that Washington "wants to see a stop to settlements -not some settlements, not outposts, not natural-growth exceptions." The euphemism "natural growth" refers to children. About 9,600 babies were born in West Bank settlements in 2007, and the State Department views these bundles of joy as a threat to its precious 'peace process' (Washington Times, June 1, 2009). Obama Takes on Israel with 'Tough Love': US President Barack Obama has taken a stricter definition of a freeze on settling towns in Judea and Samaria than his predecessor: Obama reiterated that no settlement expansion also includes “natural growth,” an allowance made by his predecessor. Obama said that the peace process would require a freeze on settling Judea and Samaria, including expansion to accommodate successive generations of Jews living there,.." Because of International pressure, the Israeli government is withholding building permits in numerous communities that require increased building just to accommodate natural growth. As a result of this and the Biblical imperative to settle the ancient Land of Israel it becomes easier to understand why Zionist zealots take the risk of establishing settlement “outposts.” Regardless of whether it is “right” or “wrong” or somewhere in between - we at Shuva Israel; http://www.blessingisrael.com/ - feel that we have a humane responsibility to assist these families.
24. Zoaretz, I like you !
Patrick ,   Paris France   (01.12.12)
Just keep on protecting us and the land of Israel. God bless you !
25. @Pilpel #12 "Freedom of Speech"
Mikey ,   SomeWhere, OverHere   (01.12.12)
Freedom of Speech doesn't mean incitement to murder or riot, violence etc., which is what this guy is doing. Oliver Wendell Holmes said you can't shout fire in a crowded theater. Don't give me pilpul.
26. Fundamentally anti-Zionist
Yitzhak ,   Israel   (01.12.12)
This young man is a disgrace to his uniform and the country he serves. His views are fundamentally anti-Zionist inasmuch as Zionism was founded as a liberal-nationalist movement with strong socialist principles and has always been democratic in spirit and practice. Dissent is as much a Zionist value as the "Ingathering of the Exiles." This young man perverts and distorts all that Israel stands for. I hope he gets to sit in prison long enough for him to think about his words and actions.
27. #12: I am sure you are right about Norway
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (01.12.12)
and that's why Anders Behring Breivik was exercising his right to Freedom of Speech and thus did what he did. So if this soldier did what Breivik did to Arabs and Leftists would that be OK in your definition of Freedom of Speech?
28. #8
Patriotic Israeli ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (01.12.12)
What made you hate your people and God so much??? Because such an outrageous attack on the State of Israel IS an attack on the Jewish people and God!
29. he just sounds like a regular israeli
keira ,   uk   (01.12.12)
30. Al #8 feeds the beast of false messages
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (01.12.12)
I'm a Jew in Israel and I feel safe. So do my neighbors. So do my friends across the country. I don't know what the heck Al is trying to say, but it's not the reality on the ground here. I can't tell you how many times I'm confronted by foreign Jews who say "I own an apartment in Israel" or "my kid lives in Israel and serves in the IDF an therefore...". Humbug, Al. Anybody here who wants to live a Jewish life doesn't have to "try" - they can easily do it. We are protected by the police and the IDF, the majority of whom are secular, not religious. As a religious Jew living in Israel, I feel safe. I appreciate my fellow citizens one and all - Jew and Arab - religious or not - men and women. Our country is definitely NOT going down the toilet like many western countries. Our economy is strong, our armed forces are strong, and our society is strong. The modern state of Israel is bringing untold naches to us citizens here in Israel, and to Jews all over the world. Sorry that you're the exception. Why not get your kiester on a plane and make aliya, where you have national health care, where civil rights are protected by laws that do indeed protect women and blacks and Jews and non-Jews. And if you see room for improvement, well heck, join a political party and work to make change - just like how it's down in any other democratic country.
