1. Finally a little bit of good news
zionist forever   (01.11.12)
Nice to see our left wing dominated court system actually didn't side with the liberal left wing do gooders for a change. Now how about keeping up that momentum and not overturn every piece of controversial legislation this government has made.
2. A waste of time on shtuyot.Constitution will take care of it
Michael ,   California, USA   (01.12.12)
Constitution is needed to define who is a citizen in Israel. People who want to become citizens will need to swear allegiance to the Constitution and become naturalized. Not under Hok Hashvut, not under religion or race, under a Constitution. Why does the High Court need to adjudicate something the Government is in default of doing for over 60 years already? Israel has had plenty of governmnts in this period of time, plenty of Knesset debates which could have given a Constitution. Instead, there are shtuyot every day that the High Court needs to tackle. I feel sorry for those judges.
3. this insecurity will blow up in our faces...

instead of making for a more secure state of Israel
4. And Beinish wonders why people don't like her
Aharon   (01.12.12)
If people are not going to be loyal to the State of Israe, they have no business receiving citizenship, even if they are family of Israelis.
5. Correct judgement
Vered, Israel   (01.12.12)
If Palis got citizenship just because of family living here, sad to say, but I believe suddenly many "families" would suddenly emerge. If they really want reunification, let them move to Pali-controlled areas.
6. Reminds me of the Nuremberg race laws
Alan Smith ,   UK   (01.12.12)
Where a Jew was forbidden to marry a German and live in in Germany. What happens if an Israeli Jew marries a Palestinian - is he or she refused permission to live in Israel or does the law only apply to Israeli Arabs who marry Palestinians?
7. @2 were it that simple...

we in Israel wouldn't have 'managed' to live without a constitution for 64 years!

Igor ,   Germany   (01.12.12)
That the ruling reminds you of the Nueremberg laws tells more about you than about the ruling. No-one forbids Israeli citizens to marry other Israeli citizens, regardless of race, ethnicity or whatever, and live together in Israel. Also, in stark contrast to e.g. Egypt and Lebanon, which even revoke citizenship of their citizens if they marry Israelis (even Israeli Arabs), Israel does not punish its own citizens for marrying whomever they want. The only thing Israel prevents is import of enemy agents through marriage from entities which wage war on it. BTW. similar "bride import" laws also exist in Denmark...
9. When does no mean no?
rebecca ,   Modiin   (01.12.12)
Petitions were filed in 2005, 2006 and 2007 , and all denied. Why was another petition allowed? No means NO.
10. @9 its called an appeal process; really dear y r ur....

knickers all in a twist about this? feeling insecure?
11. Justice Neal Hendel
Amy ,   Elizabeth, NJ   (01.15.12)
Justice Neal Hendel's last name is Hendel not Handel as spelled in the article. You might think this is unimportant, but in fact if you want the article to be found in google searches - you need to be careful of spelling.
