1. part of a scheme
Arctodus Simus ,   Fort Yukon-Alaska   (01.12.12)
Bombing the nuclear infrastructure isn't sufficient. With its oil money Iran can replac e it quickly. But forming new scientist, specially good ones, take alot of time. So to be efficient you should first kill out all the nuclear scientists, and then launch a massive air bombing campaign on the site
2.  portrait of a spy... :-)
J.Gad ,   Israel   (01.12.12)
is an excelent lecture, cheers
3. Ron Ben-Yishai
Shiroz   (01.12.12)
When "major confrontation takes place" would you still be able to write about it?
4. Sounds like a well considered...
Gideon Reader   (01.12.12)
...strategy to me. Less (Iranian Scientists) is more sometimes. Now. Plansto completely destroy all ports and airports, as well as strategically ruin all roadways into all major cities? (Damage suficient for extended time frame)
5. Brilliant!
David H ,   Marietta, USA   (01.12.12)
I would never have made it in the intelligence community. Yasha Koach!
6. Cost-Effective Method
Abdel Karim Salim ,   Jerusalem   (01.12.12)
Surely everybody agrees that this method saves one the huge costs of war against the enemy , and it has worked very well for Israel up till now . Egyptian physicist Mustafa Musharafa died mysteriously in 1950.And Egyptian nyclear scientist Yahya Mashad , who worked for the Iraqi nuclear project, was killed in 1980.Also, many of the German engineers who were involved in Nasser's " Project 333 " for building surface missiles in the 1960s ( and others who participated in building the Egyptian-made " Al-Qahira" fighter aircraft and in making its jet engine ) were assassinated one after the other by mail bombs. No wonder Egypt finally cancelled its armaments project. Furthermore , scores of PLO figures whom Israel assumed posed mortal danger got killed in different places on different dates. Not surprisingly, the PLO's Yasser Arafat was never one of those who were targeted by Israel ... !
7. This is likely to be a long, drawn-out process...
Rafi ,   US   (01.12.12)
Whoever conducted this hit, did God's work... but only fools would celebrate. Iran is not Egypt or the PLO (see #6 talkback) - and is a robust master at terrorism. Don't count them out. By the way, the response by the Obama Admin (see Hillary Clinton statement) is contemptible... Why are they behaving like a frightened 3rd rate power? what are they afraid of? Last time I checked the US is still a global power. Bush Admin would never have responded like this...
8. don't forget saudis and gulf arabs
dani   (01.12.12)
they have money and motivation to do this too.
9. How is this not Terrorism?
Mohab ,   Egypt   (01.12.12)
How would you react should Iran do the same to you or the U.S.A.?
10. won't work
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (01.12.12)
"Killing the brains" may delay the development, but the only way to stop the program is popular revolt to replace Ahmadinejad with a democratic regime. Too bad Obama supported Ahmadinejad when he smashed the Green Revolution.
11. Big Mouth Price
GG   (01.12.12)
Price iran pays for Ahmadinijahad's big Mouth
12. to 9 Mohab
Arctodus Simus ,   Fort Ukon-Alaska   (01.12.12)
Its iran who begin its terror game. In 1979 they took US hostages, in the 80's they masterminded terror attacks in France, and Argentina. They killed Amercian an French UN peace keeper sin Lebanon, supporting every anti-western organisation with terror money. Not speaking about their criminal nuclear projects. And now its time to pay back, and with the interests..
13. The best way to kill a snake ...
Roger ,   Lima, USA   (01.12.12)
is to cut off its head. Apparently some "wascally wabbit" in Iran has figured this out. Good work ... continued good hunting.
14. @ Nr. 9
RQ ,   Romania   (01.12.12)
Israel did not promise to wipe Iran (or any other country) off the map. Ahmadinejad did. That's the main difference.
15. #9
Reb Surazal ,   Montreal, Canada   (01.12.12)
It's not terrorism because it does not seek to terrorize the civilian population. Unlike Palestinians and radical islamists who blow themselves up in cafes and passover seders. These are targeted assasinations of people who are devoting themselves to the destruction of a sovereign state. If Iran were coming across as peaceful then neither the US or Israel would give a damn and would certainly not be spending precious resources on fighting this pernicious religious evil.
16. Mohab---It's been done many times...
Koose E Mack ,   NY NY   (01.12.12)
How do we react? We bomb, invade, and annihilate the enemy! I'm sure there is a list of Iranian scientests as long as a roll of toilet paper....May they all come to the same usage and end!!!!
17. Builders of Weapons of Mass Destruction are a fair target.
Michael ,   California, USA   (01.12.12)
I think there should be a declaration like this from the U.N.. Assassinating builders and experts connected to weapons of mass destruction is tantamount to self defense, which is a recognizable claim in courts, leading to an acquittal. The opposite is also correct: aiding and abetting construcxtion of weapons of mass destruction is high crime. Time to put the criminals on trial in Hague.
18. mossad has broken my waist.
saiood ,   iranian scientist   (01.12.12)
Defeatin trophy active protection is iranian scientist response to this terror.israel will pay badly.
19. chilling and killing
alan ,   texas   (01.12.12)
Killing the scientists that are working to enable iran to build nuclear weapons is s god and legitimate defense. In addition it should give pause to many others who may consider following this path. However, the islamic code may not allow for critical thinking, so it may not chill others with the same idea. Keep targetting those enablers.
20. funny article
sipahi ,   Istanbul   (01.12.12)
How funny you are! Shalit was maybe closer to Israel, Nasrallah as well, very close to Israel. Why then could you not get them?
21. It must be the Brits & the US
W. ,   Beirut, Lebanon   (01.12.12)
Such covert missions are quite complicated and costly that only premium intelligence services such as the those of the US can carry them out. Of course, the Brits who have a historical presence in the region must have aided. God bless them.
22. building a drone even sophisticated more than rq170
Saeid ,   iranian scientist   (01.12.12)
Is iranian scientist another response.we will remove aschill's heels of this drone and will make it a nightmare for arrogant zionists.except jews.we will make it immune to the electronic warfare.and we know how to do that.
23. as long as human is versus human, there won't be a winner.
saeid ,   iranian scientist   (01.12.12)
When a person is being killed cowardly in this manner, anyone who is happy is stupid.in stead of negotiation, speaking and recognizing any country with the right of choosing, whole the world have started a type of war against iranian people by means of sanctions and other financial tools.yeah. iranians won't accept to see any so called superpower to have base in our land.iranians won't accept to see americans to publish transcript for us to do this and to do that.whenever you saw a person is being killed in a bad manner by means of hanging, terror or etc.be angry because that is a insult to the all humans dignity, prestige.
24. #20 Shalit was locked in a room for 5 years
Michael Redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (01.12.12)
Only a few trusted people knew where Shalit was and he never went out. Killing the scientists is relatively easy because they move from place to place. Distance is irrelevant. Where is close or far today? Why would Israel want to kill Nasrallah?
25. an advice to the arab's of PERSIAN GULF.
Saed ,   iranian scientist   (01.12.12)
if they do not change their policy and their conspiracy against the race of PERSIANS,they must prepare themselves for that day that iranian tanks and amphibious assault vehicles come out of the water to their land from 200meter under water.iranians will be the sir of world in spite of your stingy and envious.
26. 9 mohab
Jorge Stern ,   Mexico   (01.13.12)
maybe it was payback for the bombing of A) Israeli embassy in Argentina B) AMIA offices C) Hizbullah terror we will never forget our brothers and sisters.
27. There are plenty of Iranians who want change.
David ,   Hartford USA   (01.13.12)
And these are educated, proud people who can't stomach the regime. They have the brains and the ability to perform this type of attack. Remember, Khamenei, the epitomy of Islamic thought, said it was ok to have sex with a goat or sheep but that you had to wait 4 hours before serving the animal to guests for dinner! THAT is what's leading Iran. Scientists working for these pervert psychopaths are fair game. Maybe one will wake up and plant a bomb on Khamenei's car.
28. #33 You dont know how to do anything but big talk
Scott ,   QLD Australia   (01.13.12)
All show and no go. Weasel Iran has no capability except the bomb its trying like amateurs to make 60 years after everyone else.
29. #27 What!!?? That's SICK!
