32. To "Zionist Forever" (and others).
Luiz F Haddad ,   Niteroi, Brazil   (01.12.12)
Mr Zionist Forever, I think you are right if the refered law permits that Arab relatives of Israelians reside into your territory, without fear about deportation. On the contrary, it would be shameful. If you can (or any other talkbacker) send me the full text of the law, I will be glad. I am a magistrate in my country and a true friend of yours. Salutes.
33. citizenship law
issy hass ,   Ra'anana-Israel   (01.12.12)
it is time to stop this "marriage"as a road for terror agents.most men ask their spouses to move to the place they live, but men from the (west bank and Gaza)omove to Israel with love of guns and not their spouses issy
34. Sarai Ben Yehuda # 21
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (01.12.12)
LInda's location, citizenship, and religion do not invalidate what she is saying. She is showing you that this is or should be a question for all non muslim countries. Do you really think a person has to be a Jew or an Israeli to care about Israel? Her opinion is valid and you have no right to tell her to keep it to herself. Your free to disagree with her or myself but she has every bit as much right to post here about any issue as you do.
35. 'Citizenship Law ...
David ,   Montreal,Canada   (01.12.12)
When the world will understand that Israel is an independent country with their laws, culture, and democratic. Though I think that it too democratic.
36. @34 sorry but Israel isn't the moral gymnasium of the world.
Sarai Ben Yehida @21 ,   Israel   (01.12.12)
therefore Linda's location, citizenship and religion invalidate her coments.
37. @34 as an Israeli taxpaying citizen u served in the IDF...
(01.12.12)
I take task with ur comments. Israeli citizens (Jewish and Arab) who live in Israel and pay taxes have a higher right than Linda and than you. Sorry but that's just how it is!
38. MOVE DAMN IT!
Bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (01.12.12)
Israel belongs to the Jews, by G-d!!!
39. 11
zionist forever   (01.12.12)
No it does not apply to Israeli arabs it applies only to arabs coming from Judea & Samaria ( non citizens ). Is there something terrible about the idea of not granting citizenship to an individual just because they married an Israeli? If we are giving them a residency permit then they are allowed to Israel with their partner, why should we be obligated to give citizenship? What do you think these palestinians would say if they were told they could have their citizenship but they would have to swear an oath of loyalty to the State of Israel ( the enemy of their people )? I imagine they would be in the courts protesting saying its unreasonable they should swear loyalty to Israel because of occupation etc. This bill doesn't discriminate against arabs it discriminates against palestinians demanding citizenship.
40. To: No. 5
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.12.12)
The ersatz "Palestinians" wanted autonomy, and they have it. West Bank Arabs married Israeli Arabs purely to acquire the benefits offered in Israel that are not available in the PA. Israel is under no obligation to accept these aliens under the guise of "family unification." West Bank Arabs are Jordanian citizens. I can well imagine that the life of an Arab in areas controlled by the PA is dismal. Why don't these families petition Amman for relief (good luck with that one). By the way, no it is nothing like what was done against the Jews in Nazi Germany. Not even close.
41. To: No. 37
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.12.12)
I am an Israeli taxpayer who served in the IDF, and I believe that the families should be free to live -- unified -- in areas administered by the PA or in Jordan, as one spouse is a Jordanian citizen. Sorry, but that's just how it is!
42. It's not the law!
Yael Schlichting ,   Raubling - Germany   (01.12.12)
It's the circumstances! It's the right of every country to insist that applicants for citizenship are loyal! Israel has enough reason to check this very critical and in case of doubt reject these applications. If there was peace and Arabs would live in harmony together with the Jewish state of Israel, this wouldn't be a problem and laws like this wouldn't exist. Just make sure, that the State of Israel can trust in you! In every country you will find circumstances, that are not really appreciable. These circumstance arise from conditions, which are not easy to change.
43. #36 - Sarai Ben Yehuda/Yehida
Devorah   (01.12.12)
Hey, get off your high horse, you snot-nosed snob. Who do you think you are telling her she cannot post a comment here? Linda has been posting here for a long time. She loves Israel and shares our concerns, and what is in her heart is more important than your stupid demographics and personal criteria. You bring shame to yourself by illuminating the fact that a non-Jew is more Jewish than you.
44. to 21 - Full GO to Linda Rivera !
Jennie ,   Israel/US   (01.13.12)
You are full of horse manuer, Sarai Ben Yehuda..BTW, never remember reading your posts before... Now, Linda is rightfully and very articulately (as always), is on target in her post.#8...But where do you come off to suggest that a person should see facts thru the prism of her/his religion ?! If you are Sarai ben yehuda, I am Mother Theresa...
45. # 3
Birdi ,   Israel   (01.13.12)
Linda, you please keep posting. We appreciate your loyalty, concern & support. Kudos to you.
46. # 36
Birdi ,   Israel   (01.13.12)
From one female Israeli to another, shut up; you have no right to tell Linda not to post her opinions here. Shame on you.
47. #36
(01.13.12)
well said. Something needs to be done about all these extremist American Christians who post on Ynet offering advice as if they are living in Israel. Its irritating enough having to read all the American Jewish know-it-alls without having American Christian ''experts'' too. The gall of these people is unbelieveable
48. Reunification isn't really a "right" anywhere
William ,   Israel   (01.13.12)
Even in the US, while it is possible to bring a family member over through an expedited process, it is by no means guaranteed, even after paying all the money to go through the system. Ultimately, the State possesses the right to approve or deny anyone, and that right is enshrined in the UN Charter for ALL sovereign States. It could be argued as a "human rights issue" but since the Israeli is not blocked from reuniting with the family in the West Bank, it really isn't a human rights issue.
49. In 2002, many Pallys were caught in Israel aiding terror
William ,   Israel   (01.13.12)
and were found to be there because they took advantage of the reunification act. If the Israeli Arabs and Palestinians do not like the result today, tell them to complain to their terror masters in Ramallah who ruined it for everyone. Funny how tens of Arabs were caught aiding terror, but the Left pulls out the one "poor innocent person" to provide the narrative. Luckily, we have not forgot Arab duplicity.
50. #5 - were they actions taken by the Nazis?
William ,   Israel   (01.13.12)
If so, please cite them and your source.
51. Arab Israelis are drama queens.
tejas ,   India   (01.13.12)
52. #6 - Were Jews trying to destroy Germany and cleanse Germans
William ,   Israel   (01.13.12)
I don't recall that ever happening. Infact, Jewish residents were all too willing to give their loyalty to the German State. Many joined the army in WWI to defend the State. The "Palestinians" have done none of that. They are often caught involved in terrorism and sedition, and still the world demands we open our borders to them. You wouldn't do that in the US, and we're not doing it here. We could do without the support of myopic people like you who haven't been to the region, have no idea what the real issues are, and yet make demands on us. Do you know who will be discriminated against without this law? All of the Israeli citizens who will be subjected to increased terror by Arabs who took advantage of reunification to commit atrocities against innocents. and there were many caught between years 2000-2002 doing just that, which brought this law in the first place.
53. #8 - she also isn't aware of Israeli law
William ,   Israel   (01.13.12)
No one can be turned away from medical care in their time of need. Even if they were Arab, they would receive the same care as an Israeli citizen if the need warranted it. Everyone seems to forget the image which is etched in my mind from 2002: In one bed, the "Palestinian" terrorist who committed an attack on innocent Israelis, in beds down the hall lay his Israeli victims of all ages. They both received medical care from Israeli doctors whose only purpose was to save lives.
54. Why can't my son live in Holland
Jerry ,   Watford UK   (01.13.12)
Two wrongs never made a right. If Israel is to be judged by third world standards, then Theodor Herzl is turning in his grave. We in the Uk may be considering loyalty oaths for immigrants but I doubt it will happen for some time if ever. Is there a state of war with the PA or not?
55. To 44, Jennie
Luiz F Haddad ,   Niteroi, Brazil   (01.13.12)
Dear Jenny, I am glad to see you again in Ynet. About the refered law, if it only rules Israelian citizenship, I think there is no wrong. As a friend, I do understand that your State needs to defend herself, while her neighbors keep hostile attitudes. But I am sure you don't endorse some radical positions, opposed to democratic and humanistic principles. Salutes.
56. War on Citizens?
Syd Chaden ,   Palermo Calif USA   (01.13.12)
Israel certainly has no right to emulate the behavior of its neighbor Arab countries. After all, Israel is not a Muslim country, and it has no right to exist. On the other hand, Muslim countries have every right to do whatever they wish to non-Muslim citizens. That is why they have so few non-Muslim citizens, and, as the Copts can testify, those who remain are in danger. Of course, even Muslim citizens are in danger, too, but that is an internal matter. Thank goodness Jimmy Carter is not the US President. Or, is he?
57. citizenship law
Barbara ,   San Francisco, USA   (01.13.12)
An example of the heartbreaking results of the conflict. Protecting Israeli Arab citizen's rights will build a stronger Israel.
58. Sarai please be quiet
Bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (01.14.12)
Linda has every right, as does any one here, to express her thoughts. We call it 'free speech'. Your lame attempts to silence her voice makes you seem a nut job. If you can't open your brain, please stop the idiotic postings.
59. Thank you Devorah
Bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (01.14.12)
I couldn't have said it better myself. Shabbot shalom
60. They and you can move and stay in Gaza!
