Arctodus Simus ,   Fort Yukon-Alaska   (01.20.12)
that Israelis can fougth wars with honor
2. When we follow their line of thinking,
Ypip ,   Canada   (01.20.12)
"We realize that all of life’s material pleasures, combined, amount to less than one of G‑d’s thoughts. We cannot possibly experience all the opportunities presented by this one thought; we have time for only one lifetime of such experiences. In all, we can enjoy a mere sliver of a single thought of an infinite capacity for thought from a divine Creator. On the other hand, we can embrace G‑d completely and directly by observing His commandments and studying His Torah, bypassing and surpassing the divine thought that created our world. Our sages taught that, in a spiritual sense, G‑d fulfills every commandment that He instructs us to perform. When we fulfill the commandment we connect directly with G‑d, who performs precisely the same thing at the same time. It is a meeting in the ultimate sense of the word, essence to essence." Rabbi Lazer Gurkow
3. Wonderful story

Wonderful story.

5. Irsrael & Palestinians
edison   (01.20.12)
During the 6 Days War I was in Gaza, As part of UN the Brazilian UNEF troops, and saw similar stories odf IDF soldiers helping the defeated Arab troops. I think both people shoud leave hate behind and leave in peace. Two Nations Israel and Palestine. Eddie Iabel
6. Lovely story
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.20.12)
Please find one Arab that would have done the same for a Jew. Good luck.
7. This story has touched my heart.
Ivan ,   South Africa   (01.20.12)
8. Expect story to go viral in 3..2..1..
Carl ,   USA   (01.20.12)
Oh wait, this doesn't comport with world media view of "evil Israel" "good Palestinian." I have no doubt such stories are common among Israeli soldiers.
9. "It's rare to find people like him"
William ,   Israel   (01.20.12)
No, it's not. Israel is full of people like Erez. Many risk their lives to aid "Palestinian" civilians, and do so outside of politics. Many Israeli doctors treat Arabs without thinking twice, routinely saving lives and giving back quality of life. Sadly, these are the same life-givers that "Palestinians" feel justified in targeting through terrorism. I echo this woman's sentiment - we should co-exist without killing.
10. beautiful story
alsky ,   toronto   (01.20.12)
too bad the left wing media will not cover such stories. Maybe Fox ?
11. To: No. 5
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.20.12)
You are wrong. Why do the ersatz "Palestinians" deserve a nation? They have rejected such a concept on three occasions including, most recently, an offer which would have awarded them 90% of the West Bank and East Jerusalem as a capital. They chose to start the second intifada instead. Moreover, Israel has been attacked on six separate and distinct occasions which resulted in all-out war. The Arabs have lost each one of those six wars. It does not take a genius to figure out that the ersatz "Palestinians" are not interested in co-existence with Israel. They are interested only in replacing Israel. And that is never going to happen.
12. It's a proof not all Jews are bad.
Avi ,   NYC, USA   (01.20.12)
But we have known that already. Also, not all Germans, Indians, Arabs and Eskimos are bad.
13. Very moving. Long life to each of you.
Yossef   (01.20.12)
14. irrelevant
sweeter than honey ,   far away   (01.20.12)
15. Sorry Sarah!
Ben ,   Chutzlaaretz   (01.20.12)
But you are wrong on this one. This is not one sided. Plenty of historic examples of arabs helping Jews, serving in our Army, donating their organs to save Jewish Lives. Though I often tend to strongly agree with your sentiment, the world is not as black and white as you would like it to be. Good and evil exist on both sides.
16. old news
Daniel ,   Waterloo, Canada   (01.20.12)
This type of thing is relatively common. The reverse however.. I have yet to see, and there lies the problem.
17. #6
Palestinian   (01.20.12)
Maybe the fertility doctor from Gaza who used to help Israelis and who already lost three kids in Cast Least!! I think your comment that you cannot find similar story in the Arab side reflect deep hatred and irrational thinking. Come on.. not a single one.
18. Sarah B - It happens all the time...
me ,   here   (01.20.12)
I am lucky to live in a quiet nook of Israel, where Jews and Israeli Arabs work and live together. We visit each others wedding parties. We greet each other for the various holidays. Only a few extremists on both sides have caused troubles once. As a foreigner living here for a long time, I have only good things to say about the people I meet... Jews have been very very nice and going out of their length to be helpful, and if I have asked any normal Arab for any help, I have always got the help I needed. I have wonderful friends here, who have been with me through thick and thin for many years. I say, it all depends on the person. They may show things in different ways, but the basics are the same. Still, there are places in Israel that I would not visit, where extremist Arabs and extremist Jews prefer to clash with each other and generally disrespect each other. It's a sad fact. But I still hope they are in a minority!
19. Sarah B - You are right about one thing...
me ,   here   (01.20.12)
There do exist some very very hateful, vengeful, uncompromising people here. But they exist on both sides. They are the very people who have not been willing to solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict for six decades, and who will not allow a diplomatic and fair solution within the next sixty years... by taking the law into their own hands and behaving disrespectfully to other people. Again, that goes for both sides. Unfortunately. Still, there are a looooot of good people out there!
20. I am happy, for once, to see the talkbacks her on Ynet.
me ,   here   (01.20.12)
The talk backs on this forum are usually very cynical... well, it is a cynical world, you may say... I am happy to see today, that there are readers out there, who can actually appreciate a different story once in a while. The talk backs today are really on a humanitarian level that I have not seen on Ynet for a long, long time! That's nice! Let's try to keep a nice and respectful tone on this forum, I'd say. In this way, we can contribute to a civilized exchange of thoughts and ideas. And maybe, G-d willingly, find a sustainable solution to the differences and strife that exist in this country! Best greetings to all who have contributed here today! You did it really nicely!
21. #14 This is not irrelevant. Your comment is.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.20.12)
If you can provide reasonably accurate and responsible documentation, I might believe you. You could start by telling me what the Arabs did to protect Jews against marauding Bedouins in the pre-Mandate and Mandate eras, and you can follow that up with documentation telling me what they did to save Jews in the Hebron Massacre. I have heard from survivors that they hung around, watching, and then plundered the homes and the dead bodies. THAT, I can document. Show me yours, first.

Oh, because EVERY Israeli woman experiencing infertility would seek out an internist from Gaza. GET A GRIP! I think most would prefer to see Israeli gynecologists. In fact, I'm certain of it. No hatred. No irrational thinking. Just an accurate perception of reality and a strong knowledge of history. I invite you to counter, with legitimate proof.
24. To: No. 18
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.20.12)
You are not Jewish. That means you are not marked for death by Arabs. Stay out of this; it does not concern you. Better yet -- go home. If you do not side with Israel, you are an enemy. Good-bye.
25. To: No. 19
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.20.12)
People made the same argument that you posit now during the Holocaust. Looooooots of goooooood Germans! Poles! Czechs! Dutch! Hungarians! French! Belgians! Et cetera, et cetera, ad nauseum. Somehow, however, more Jews perished than survived. Shut up. Israel has had to endure six wars (all started by the Arabs and won by Israel). Israel has had to deal with seven decades of unremitting ersatz "Palestinian" terror. The time for a so-called "diplomatic and fair solution" is long over. It is time for them to get the hell out of our land. No country in the world would tolerate the aggression and the violence on the part of Arabs that Israel has had to endure. Why should Israel? Or do you think that following six wars, seven decades of terror, and three rejected opportunities for a two-state solution, the ersatz "Palestinians" deserve yet another chance? Get the hell out of Israel. Go live in Gaza, and preach your pithy nonsense there.
26. Sarah B - Big smile. I kind of expected that answer from you
me ,   here   (01.20.12)
The people in Gaza need to hear what I say, just as well as you do. Keep doing what you have always done = keep getting the same results. Good luck to you (both)! And you are right. I have skipped this forum for a loooong time thanks to talk backs of this sort being so prevalent. Your way of writing is truly not helpful to the situation - neither is that of many in Gaza. Just sorry to see the hatred that exists on both sides. Your talk back just confirms my point. Now, I have better things to do than worry about people who do not want anything else but keep fighting. And I am continuing to live here, loving this country and wishing for it a much better future than you and any other vengeful people - on any side - will ever be able to produce for it! This is the last you will hear from me in a long time.
27. #17 - look in your own news media. can you find one?
William ,   Israel   (01.20.12)
All of "Palestinian" news media coverage is of the reconciliation between the PA and Hamas, generic public issues, and scathing attacks on Israel and the IDF mostly with unfounded accusations and pure conjecture. If you yourselves do not print stories of "Palestinians" helping Israeli civilians, now or in the past, how are we supposed to hear about it? By the way, do you recognize the fact that when a "Palestinian" does speak kindly of an Israeli or help them, the public turns on them and calls them a traitor, even with threats of violence? In Israel, no one curses or threatens the doctors who provide emergency heart surgery to Gazan children, even when that child's father is a founder of Hamas.
28. #17 - BTW, the Gazan doctor that you mentioned
William ,   Israel   (01.20.12)
he doesn't have a habit of aiding Israelis with surgery, especially in a time of war. He is friendly with the Israeli doctors and spends time at the Beer Sheva hospital to learn techniques and bring them back to Gaza.
29. #20 - that's because such stories don't surface often
William ,   Israel   (01.20.12)
but if you are an avid reader of Ynet, you will see the same reaction every time a story like this appears. There was a recent story about Israeli doctors saving the life of a Gazan baby. Overwhelmingly, the talkbacks were applause for the skills of the Israeli doctors and the mitzvah of saving a life. There were a couple posts that swore this child is a future suicide bomber, but they were hushed up. The moral of this story - when "Palestinians" actually act like humans and leave politics and religious violence behind, they often find warm, open-hearted Israelis to work with. Always have. One such point was in 2000 during the Intifada, Israel made it illegal to transport "Palestinian" workers into the country. Some employers still paid them their salaries despite them not working, or some helped sneak them into Israel to work knowing their families needed the money. What was the result for their kindness towards their workers? There was no less than a dozen nationalistic attacks on these employers, with a knife or other tool. That is how humanitarian gestures and kindness are repaid. So please forgive the cynicism.
