Israel has one of the best fleets of air-craft carriers in the world and they will go wherever we want whenever we want them to (including in the US Great Lakes if we desire.) Maybe the US is afraid to send their ships close to Iranian shores, but our carriers--each equipped with dozens of stealth planes--have been patrolling 12 miles off Iran's coast for over five years. And they will stay there--with or without the US.

that maybe the Americans are either expecting an Israeli assault on Iran's nuke facilities and want to keep said ships out of harm's way, or that they have suddenly have gone a little chicken-hearted at the prospect of a confrontation with the Iranians.
