1. hahahaha..and this guy was supposed to be a know it all haha
Al   (01.26.12)
Syria should she get rid of Assad will turn to an Iran style regime much like all the other Arab springs that are turing radical. Geez Israel has some very dumb guys steering the ship.
2. No matter what, the Golan must be kept.
Henry from New York ,   USA   (01.26.12)
Lord knows what the Syrians would do to the vineyards there. Such quality wine must not perish from this Earth! Don't even get me started on the archæological sites.
3. Chaos Theory
Zivron   (01.26.12)
Choas is inherent in the world order the pairs of the Talmudic learning producing majority traditions .the jews have learnt always prepare for worst case scenaria to an extent in the maximum.
4. Yadlin comments
Lynn ,   Knoxville, USA   (01.26.12)
How naive can a supposed intelligence chief be? Merely giving uninformed opinions will get one some publicity, but it overlooks the fact that the Moslem Brotherhood ultimately will be taking over in Syria if Assad bites the dust. Between Yadlin and Dagan, who is the most deluded individual? Both apparently think favorable geo-political changes, especially for Israel, can simply be spoken into existence.
5. pure projection
tom ,   toronto, canada   (01.26.12)
i would have expected deeper analysis and less projection from a former head of military intelligence. so far, the situation in syria is far from resolved, and it's not at all certain that assad will fall, or that a successor regime will not turn to iran for support and islamism for ideology. the example of all the rest of the "arab spring" shows that the trend is toward radical islam taking over. as for the "arab spring" spreading to tehran, there is absolutely no evidence of it. there is no effective opposition and the regime shows no signs of weakening, let alone falling. israelis are notable for their starkly realistic assessments, and not this kind of wishful thinking.
6. #1 Al: I'd trust Yadlin's judgement and experience...
Rafi ,   US   (01.26.12)
...long before I trust yours, sitting in NYC behind a PC - or wherever you're located.
7. #5 Arab Spring
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (01.26.12)
The Green Revolution was a precursor to the Arab Spring , and could have toppled Ahmadinejad. With Obama's full backing, Ahmadinehad and his Basij violently suppressed the protestors, captured all the leaders, raped them (men and women) and murdered them. It will take many years before a new generation of Iranians will be able to revolt against Ahmadinejad. Thanks to the idiot Obama, the Arab Spring will not spread to Iran.

To # 6., And in what city in the U.S. would be you be sitting behind a PC, commenting on something you don't seem to be terribly informed about.
9. Rafi in USA I rest my case....
Al   (01.26.12)
Hearing from a yored fellow like you confirms, wjhat I've been saying forever. When they were passing out brains, you though they were talking about trains and so you decided to wait for the next one. Move on shall we..
10. #5- Sunni/Shia divide is the point
Stephen in New York   (01.26.12)
The Alawites are considered a Shitte "offshoot" and ally easily with Iran. A Sunni based government replacing Assad will probably end the bridge from Iran to Hezbollah. One would think. Maybe not, maybe you're right and a Moslem Brotherhood Syrian government will love and support the Hez.
11. #1 Armchair Al
(01.26.12)
you are actually kind of annoying, Al.
12. #8 Al: the issue is not about me or you...
Rafi ,   US   (01.26.12)
...it's about Gen.Yadlin - and his ability to assess the Mid East. I'm going to bet that the General has more first-hand experience, capability and years of dedicated service than the Talkbackers here have combined - including you. And as I said before I'll gladly defer to the expertise of those who have dedicated their professional lives to Israel - as opposed to foul-mouthed, frustrated people playing with their PC's. As for your original comments about Gen Yadlin in #1 - didn't your parents ever teach you: SHOW SOME RESPECT! Who are you - and who is Gen. Yadlin ??
13. SYRIA AND IT''S POPULATION/PEOPLE IN PRINCIPLE.
A WONDER-SJ. R. ,   MULTIVERSE   (01.27.12)
IN PRINCIPLE WHAT HAPPENED/WHAT HAPPENS IN SYRIA IS SYRIAN BUSINESS, UNLESS THE SYRIAN PEOPLE SUFFERED/SUFFERES FROM WAR CRIME, CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY/MANKIND OR/AND GENOCIDE. THE SAME GOES (LESS OR MORE )FOR EVERY COUNTRY WITH IT''S PEOPLE, EVEN FOR UNFORTUNATELY STILL HOMELESS PEOPLE AND FOR PEOPLE WITHOUT A CITIZENSHIP/NATIONALITY, WITHOUT OR WITH SUCH AN INSTITUTION FOR EXAMPLE AS THE ENTIRE UNITED NATIONS ORGANIZATION, IN THE YEAR OF 2012 AND SO ON...
14. Henry , your level : wine
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (01.27.12)
It's not the wine , nor the archeology , that is important in the Golan . But this you can't understand .
