Its true this is not Iraq 1981. Iran has prepared for an attack by spreading their sites around placing them underground means Israeli missiles might not do as much damage as hoped and of course they have better air defenses than Saddam Hussain did. The only people who have the capability are the Americans with their stealth aircraft, heavy bombers and hundreds of fighters in the Gulf spread between their airbases and carriers. They can smash the nuclear program and can bomb missile launch sites and ships which limits any retaliation capabilities. Right now Obama is going into an election so the last thing he needs is another Middle East war especially if Iran attacks ships in the Straits of Hormuz so as long as Iran plays good Obama will stick to the sanctions game. If Iran starts trying to close the Straits of Hormuz as a retaliation to sanctions the way they were doing the other week and it drives up oil prices then Obama will have to take military action to protect oil trade routes & stopping the nuclear program will be a bonus. All down to Iran how this thing plays out not Bibi or Obama

A rapid military action on Iran's nuclear sites is all that Obama needs for his second term. No boots on the ground will be popular with the American electors.
