1. Jewish Iran!
Eric ,   Toronto   (01.29.12)
The mentality of these rabbis is no different than the mullahs' in Iran! Internet technology is at the core of Israel's technological success. These rabbis are disconnected from Israel's reality!
2. Internet
Jew In Wisc. ,   Kenosha, usa   (01.29.12)
This brought to you by the same people as the separation of the sexes in the public sphere.
3. I'm waiting for the war to start-
cohen, Israel   (01.29.12)
Not with the Muslims, with those among us who wish to turn us into Muslims, they are far worse...
4. yes they might discover a job
Haim ,   TA   (01.29.12)
and we cant have that can we?
5. Web is not dangerous, ..like a car, its the driver!!!.......
Stop the insanity ,   Israel   (01.29.12)
who causes accidents. The machinery or technology by itself is completely innocent. Drive a car into a wall or go to a brothel in Tel Aviv... Call your girlfriend when your wife's not home... SHOULD WE OUTLAW CARS AND CELLPHONES TOO???
6. IF we REALLY want to be honest, it's bad!
Riva Schertzman ,   Gush Etzion   (01.29.12)
It's pretty clear that one can run into some pretty nasty/shameless pop-ups, stuff that makes me shudder to think my kid is watching this without expecting it! It's like being molested in some way because there is so much of it coming on people's screen without permission. And for many people, a visual experience has the ability to remain a very long time and effect one very deeply. There are people who are even traumatized by certain pictures which may make it difficult for them to deal with relationships as a result. Use your imagination to understand this.I wasn't surprised to hear it has ruined families. We often see stuff we regret in an "innocent serf" session. So, maybe we shouldn't be so hard on the Rabbis and actually listen for a change.
7. "And Ephraim is become like a silly dove,
Kristine ,   Norway   (01.29.12)
without understanding; they call unto Egypt, they go to Assyria. Even as they go, I will spread My net upon them; I will bring them down as the fowls of the heaven; I will chastise them, as their congregation hath been made to hear (Hosea 7:11-12, 8:8-12, Jeremiah 31:). "Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their cotes? (Isaiah 60:8). Who comes to Israel today by air, usually in planeloads of hundreds - just like flocks of doves? Isaiah 66:20 "And they shall bring all your brethren out of all the nations for an offering unto the LORD, upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to My holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the LORD,.." How was Isaiah able to see this 2500 years ago? Torah For Our Time http://www.azamra.org/
8. and if he knew....
Rita ,   TelAviv   (01.29.12)
and if he knew that each one of his utterances are forever on the net for all to see and read.... he would be a bit more careful before speaking. It is high time for him to keep silence.
9. Ask Any Social Worker....
Sammy ,   Israel   (01.29.12)
It's a fact that traditional family life and values have been disturbed by pornography and clandestine internet relationships. Pornography is a gateway to destroying the trust and love necessary for a successful marriage. Children fall prey to all types of predators who don't even need to show their face anymore to abuse the innocent. This isn't a fringe problem, but something that happens every day. The statistics are nothing less than frightening. Disconnecting completely is a bit draconian, but we in the secular world need to recognize that something needs to be done.
10. Focus on the real problem and stop making rediculous excuses
Tabatha ,   Jerusalem   (01.29.12)
Obviously religious men have become so addicted to sex and perverted that all women and other OBJECTS that allow men's hands and minds to wander must be destroyed. I think it's time for rabbis to focus on psychological counselling for SICK MEN (maybe themselves) and teach classes in HOLY CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. STOP BLAMING EVERYTHING AND EVERYBODY ELSE FOR YOUR OBSESSIONS AND PERVERSIONS. I am a computer professional and I have NEVER seen "bad things". It doesn't happen by accident. ps - It's also bad for one to SMOKE. I don't hear rabbis screaming about that!!!!
11. The earth is round!!!!!
Ralph ,   Caesarea   (01.29.12)
12. Let's all jump onto the time machine, shall we?
mea   (01.29.12)
If you are religious, you should buy a donkey or camel and cart to transport yourself and your family. You should cook on outdoor communal fires and avoid grocery stores where sexy magazine covers remind you that this is the 21st century not the 12th. This is Israel, not POland in the Dark Ages.
13. Sammy , # 9 . Can you give those stats ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (01.29.12)
My grandchildren have access to internet . They know what is allowed , and what not . They know that if they delete their browsing history , they will loose the connection . Very simple . Regarding those rabbis , maybe their followers need their injunctions , otherwise they certainly would be on porn sites the whole day .
14. ONE SHOULD BE CAREFUL
LAWRENCE ,   SAFED ISRAEL   (01.29.12)
We all need to be very cautious when using the internet as there are some evil and soul-destroying things on it.
15. It is clear that Shas has discovered /b/. In which case, I
Henry from New York ,   USA   (01.29.12)
agree with them. There are some very twisted parts of our intrawebz.
16. #10 - if you feel there are no bad things then you should
Henry from New York ,   USA   (01.29.12)
view the Offended page on Encyclopedia Dramatica (or any #chan). I would like to say right now that I cannot be held accountable for any emotional scarring that may result. :p
17. Parental Controls
MAP ,   Bnei Brak   (01.29.12)
All browsers have them - just activate them and then your kids wont be able to watch sex and violence.
18. Rabbis fear their Explorer's history exposed
JewiGeek   (01.29.12)
19. The rabbis are partially right
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (01.29.12)
Before the internet in the 90'years, there were no significant signs of antisemitism in Hungary. This was my own experience. But since 2002-5, as nazi websites begun to appear on the internet everything changed. These websites are inciting against the jews, permanently in a horrible style. The result : 20% of Hungary population voted for neonazi parties. Thanks for the internet.
20. Eric ...
Cedric ,   Paris   (01.29.12)
... maybe it's not the rav who is disconnected from Israel, but you who are disconnected from the Torah ... Maybe, huh, I don't know ...
21. Wouldn't Messiah prefer easy internet access to all at once?
Menachem ,   Jerusalem   (01.29.12)
Just like the modern day existence of Israel, the internet appears to be the fulfillment of the market conditions that are prophesized to exist in messianic times. Shas appears to be allowing its yezter hara to prevent its seeing the "forest for the trees". And while I appreciate very much the intent of the "fences" some seek to build around "Torah", unfortunately all too many Jews find your fences offensive. The fences that you arbitrarily built and have convinced yourself that since you built them they are now law, accomplish the opposite of what you intended, so that many Jews ,who would otherwise keep kosher, when they hear about this kind of mishigash (fences) they run the other way. So Shas has decided to block the Messiah from using the internet to communicate with the entire world at once. This is the perfect example of offensive “fences”, or as they say in English: Shas appears to be talking until they believe their own “B.S.”
22. lol rabbis (end)
roxanne ,   haifa/sfo   (01.29.12)
23. don't go outside!
jewish whale ,   haifa, israel   (01.29.12)
chas v'shalom, we venture outdoors and witness the evils of the world. we should stand strong and hide in our closets. These people do not know Torah nor do they wish to perform tikun olam- the real evil is within them. shame on then
24. to #19
jewish whale ,   haifa, israel   (01.29.12)
Don't be naive Istvan, the Holocaust was before the internet age, as was the Inquisition, the destruction of both temples and countless pograms.
25. and you really want us...
Ze'ev ,   Nbg, germany   (01.29.12)
..to take such rabbies seriously? Maybe somebody should whispers to them, that Israel is a High Tech nation, earning their money with developing the best technologies? I pray for the day those rabbies will pull back their noses out of normal life!
