2. Security vs democracy
Muhammad ,   Alexandria, Egypt   (01.28.12)
Under normal conditions, and according to Maslow's theory of needs, it is expected for egyptians to ensure security first then look for social needs.
3. Only return of Sinai can create balance with Egypt.
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (01.28.12)
4. Egypt rule secretly decided
Syd Chaden ,   Palermo Calif USA   (01.28.12)
The liberal Egyptian activists thought that throwing out Mubarak would bring them "freedom", but they got the Muslim Brotherhood. Throwing out a tyrant doesn't necessarily mean the end of tyranny, and it doesn't necessarily mean "freedom". Especially in the Muslim World. Count the countries in the Muslim World in which the people have "freedom". Obviously, one of the choices that those in the Muslim World who value freedom must make involves their religion. That factor is steadfastly ignored by the do-gooders in the Western World who say that they promote freedom.
5. #3 - Egypt doesn't need to return the Sinai
michael redbourn ,   arad israel   (01.28.12)
Everything is looking better and better in the ME for Israel. The army is in control in Egypt and will honor the peace treaty. And Syria has it's own problems as does Hamas and many other players. Iran is the only major problem and they are now on the ropes.
6. "Liberals" worldwid are easy prey for Islamists
(01.28.12)
because they are blinded in their racism and hatred against Jews in general and Israel in particular. Each time anybody wiggles an anti-Israeli carrot in their face, they lose contro, ignore facts, focus their efforts towards demonizing and attacking Israel, while Islamsts quietly destroy their society, dreams and hopes. How ironic can be historical justice. Serves them well!
7. EGYPTIAN ARMY WILL DOMINATE
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (01.28.12)
Ever since Farouk was kicked, the miltary has been in charge and that's the way it's going to be. Naguib Nasser Sadat Mubarak All military men They have the manpower, weapons and soldiers that will take orders
8. SECURE BIG ISRAEL, nonviolent transfer, BALANCE, time, peace
Jerry to #5 Michael ,   The Netherlands   (01.29.12)
9. #5 Mind of Obama
Lenya ,   Australia   (01.29.12)
You seem to have the same mind of Obama about Egypt. Do you think the MB will let the Egyptian junta rule indefinitely? If they take over Egypt you think they will love Israel?
10. to #2
Chen ,   Ariel, Israel   (01.29.12)
Why those 2 can't come together? I guess you know much better than me the difficulty of gaining democracy. If Egypt looses it's democracy to the Muslim Brotherhood and it's friends, it will be just as hard to take it back.
11. #10 Chen
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (01.30.12)
Egypt has no Democracy to lose There isn' t a single Muslim Democracy in the whole lot of Arab countries, therefore, Egypt had no model to emulate The last election was a farce, anyone should realize that the Military would never relinquish control and that they have the manpower & weapons to keep it
