4. Just think
Sid ,   NY US   (02.02.12)
11th century. Not many people of any culture anywhere in the world wrote. From the description these documents appear not to be religious texts. Maybe by Radanite Jews on the way over the Silk Road (long before Marco Polo). Was Afghanistan Muslim at the time? Or was it still Buddhist? Please publish them as soon as possible!!!!!
5. Stolen Afghani Cultural Relics Should Be Given Back
World Citizen ,   the world   (02.02.12)
In the same way that Jewish owned paintings stolen by the Nazis have to be given back. What's good for the goose is good for the gander right?
6. # 2 lost tribes
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (02.02.12)
The tribes of Israel expelled by the Asyrians into Asyria, did assimilate very fast into their new enviroment, they worshiped the same gods as the Asyrians, they danced to the same music the language was similar,so,its ridiculous to look for the so called lost tribes in far away Pakistan-Afganistan,Bashar Asad,is more likely to be a descendant of the exiled tribes of Israel, and as such is entitled for asylum in Israel under the law of return,(i just gave Bashar an idea).
7. Scrolls in Afghanistan
Sam ,   Dublin, Ireland   (02.02.12)
This is just the excuse Israel needs to build settlements in Kabul.
8. #5 - Israelis didn't steal them. I'm sure Israel will give
Henry from New York ,   USA   (02.02.12)
them back if the Afghanis want them. They should be translated though. They might not have good context, but the info could be quite interesting.
9. #7 - that is the most off-the-wall remark I have read today.
Henry from New York ,   USA   (02.02.12)
10. #6 here knows his stuff.
Henry from New York ,   USA   (02.02.12)
11. #8 - silly me, I misread. What the evil private collectors
Henry from New York ,   USA   (02.02.12)
Will do is their choice and their choice alone. Israel has nothing to do with it.
12. Sam from Dublin
Zuri ,   Sydney Australia   (02.02.12)
"an excuse for Israelis to build in Kabul"? Israelis now moving to Dublin to get all the redheads in Ireland, much more interesting.
13. # 5 Jewish Cultural Relics
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (02.03.12)
Should never be handed over to Muslims, because Muslims will destroy anything relating to Jews, christians,Budhists,Remember the Budha bust, destroyed by the Muslims in Afganistan ?.in Gaza a Mosaic floor was discovered with the image of king David, the palestinians destroyed the Mosaic,in Jerusalem The Muslims are digging under the ancient Jewish Temple, destroying Jewish artifacts,Jews have a rich past in the Muslim world, who knows how many Jewish cultural artifacts were destroyed just because they related to Jews.
14. #5 - Jewish paintings comparison
Howard Immanuelson ,   US   (02.03.12)
Those Jewish paintings were given back to the survivors of the families of those butchered by the Nazis. Using your logic, those manuscripts should go to the descendants of those who wrote them who are probably not in Afghanistan and seeing as how it was 1000 years ago are untraceable anyway.
15. #7. Now I know why Ireland is moving to the Stone Age
Sami ,   New York, USA   (02.04.12)
#7. Now I know why Ireland is moving to the Stone Age.
16. theft is thef
what not ,   paris   (03.02.12)
and sale odf stolen goods should be prohibited. they cam be safeguarded and researched in the meantime, but eventually they should be returned to the country of origin when nothing is stopping Israelis or any other Jew from visiting Kabul museum to consult the items. this is illegal loot as far as the international law is concerned and all parties concerned [dealers, finders, etc] should be investigated pronto.
